"So. This is goodbye." Steven thought to himself.
Steven was finally on his own, travelling to whatever he decides to go. Ever since he left his home and said goodbye to his dad, the gems, his lover and friends of Beach City, he finds himself within his new journey, travelling on his own in his car to wherever he goes.
He stopped at a small town to collect gas in the cold and darkness of the night, where stars were bright. He was out by the beach on a hill in the night, enjoying the quiet peace of the moonlight shining above him and silent waves with the wind being small but peaceful and harmless.
What he didn't know was footsteps patting on the thin grass towards him. Soon another figure was becides the Hybrid hero. This was a much younger boy than Steven was since the beginning. He was very unique with antennas instead of ears, had pure white skin and a unique black head or hair, regular clothing for a pre-teen.
"Nice view huh. I'm come here when I'm not busy and alone." The boy said, slightly worried. Probably just a bit tense from making a conversation. Nonetheless Steven smirked. "Yeah. It's a good thing too. I would have been going nuts at some point, however I feel like I'm me again, after everything that has happened."
"Yeah. It feels like your lost completely, but there's always something in you that will never be broken, and that's who you are. It took me a while to know that feeling for about a week when I lost my parents. I never wanted to forget them and didn't get to say thank you on that faithful day." Steven could have sworn he heard the kids voice brake slightly. He turned fully to see water draining out of his eyelids. For a second he felt a painhe once knew not too long ago. When he became corrupted, his friends, family were there for him as he was there for them.
"I'm sorry, but I-"
"Don't be. It's what I don't want. I want to be happy and positive that my parents are still with me. Even though it was something that was unnecessary to end their lives, they'll be by my side. Just like the friends I have made in this very town, my hometown." The boy looks back at the view of the entire area. It was a beautiful landscape and perfect scenery.
"It's so beautiful up here." Steven commented with Stars in his eyes.
"It's a dream slight come true, every single night. I wouldn't trade it for the world to see this view in the dark."
Steven nodded and felt more peaceful with a strange looking boy becide him, watching a wonderful view of the town. "This is amazing. Too bad I'm leaving so soon."
The youngster looked back at the Hybrid teenager. "I take your riding the wind on the road."
"Hehe, you can say that." Steven chuckled and knelt down. "What's your name?"
The boy kept his cool and did a dramatic taunt before introducing himself. "My name is Joey."
"Well Joey, I'm glad your enjoying yourself and seeing the positive things in live. For where I come from, I think the same thing, good food, great hotspots, amazing friends, hangout and people you care about. Especially when they are not there but always in here." Steven points at his chest.
"Just make sure you don't get too overwheled and freak out." Steven suggested and Joey shrugged.
"No worries, this kiddo isn't gonna be braking anytime soon!" Joey boldly stated. "But I appreciate the concern. I won't make anything difficult uhh..."
"My name is Steven Universe." Steven said.
"Oh right. Thanks Steven. I hope you find what your looking for in your journey." Joey waved as Steven walked away.
"Thank you. Have a good night Joey." Steven called out before he leaves in his car and rolls out.
Joey looked back at the view of the water. "I will..." He then felt silent and sad again, but kept smiling all the way.
"I love you mom and dad. I know your proud of me." He concluded before he called it a night.
Steven was back on the road as he rolled down the street. He felt more relieved than he already was. "That kid has a heart, a real good one. I bet he's be something great someday, I just know it. Just make sure you Don't forget who you are kid. You won't be the same without you."
He then turns the radio on and rides in the night in peace.
