This chapter is just an extremely long Author's Note explaining just how different the main characters' life in my alternate universe is from the canon universe. with the exception of the next chapter, each chapter will look at a different character and explain the differences.
Universal Changes: Salem never turn evil, so there is no grimm. However, Hunters/Huntresses still exist. In this universe, they are to police as SWAT is to our police. A special task force that takes on the tougher more dangerous jobs. Other than that, nearly everything else is the same. Now onto the characters, starting with Ruby.
Ruby: Ruby Branwen is the daughter of Qrow and Summer Branwen. Growing up, she spent a lot of time with her cousin, Yang, causing them to form a sisterly bond. Her dream is to follow in her parents's footsteps and become a huntress. She even managed to get into Beacon two years early after impressing the current headmaster, Ozpin. She is also currently dating Weiss.
Weiss: Weiss Belladonna is the former heir to the Schnee fortune and adopted daughter of Ghira and Kali Belladonna. When Weiss was young, she wandered into the Schnee Dust Mines, where she discovered the inhuman treatment that the faunus workers were exposed to. After that day, she would constantly sneak food and water to the workers. She even snuck out in disguise and joined White Fang peace rallies. During one of these, she met a young cat faunus named Blake. Eventually, she was caught and punished by her father. However, that didn't stop her from continuing her actions. She still gave food to the workers and snuck out to join rallies. Finally, her father had enough and disowned her. Her sister, Winter, tried to get Jacques to change his mind, but he was too stubborn to listen to reason. So on that day, the Schnee family lost two of its members. While wandering the streets in a dirty and thorn dress, Weiss bumped into Blake and her parents. Blake, recognizing the young girl, begged her parents to help the former heiress. Now Weiss is on a quest to reclaim her title and restore honor to the Schnee name. Currently she is dating Ruby.
Blake:Blake Belladonna is a member of the Faunus Right Movement, White Fang. During a peace rally, she met and befriend a disguised Weiss. Her crush, Adam Taurus, got sick of the lack of change and left the White Fang to form his own group. This group allow worked toward faunus equality, but did it through more violent means. Currently, she is dating Yang Xiao long.
Yang: There is no major change between AU!Yang and Canon!Yang. Raven still left her and Tai, causing Yang to start looking for her. She still tell puns and go to clubs. The only difference is that her and Ruby are no longer sisters.
