Everthing dies eventually.
Everything.
There are no exxceptions.
Angels.
Demons.
Stars
Planets
Death comes for all of them.
Death's touch reaches every corner of the multiverse.
Death takes many forms.
But there was one thing no one knew.
Death was Lonely.
Everyone was afraid of it.
Everyone ran from it.
It was so lonely.
Until it found that boy.
That boy.
He did not fear death.
It was a new experience for death.
So death followed the boy.
The boy came close several times.
But not a single time did he have a trace of fear in his heart.
And what a beautiful heart it was.
A heart so kind and so warm.
His soul was so bright and pure.
Death was intruded by this boy.
And as the young boy grew Death began to grow fond of the young boy.
Then one day the boy was stabbed.
He was stabbed by a red spear by a spirit that death had long since claimed.
Death wanted to help the young boy quite along time ago.
Death wanted to talk to the boy.
To get to know the boy.
Death wanted to so badly, but death couldn't. It was not the boy's time nor had he come close enough to death that death could interact with him like that he could bless him like he did that family who he had blessed with Vijñaptimātratā.
Wait.
The boy was near death.
It was not his time.
But more than enough for him to allow him to bless the young boy.
And then he could talk with the him.
So death began as its bony fingers touched the closed eyes of the young boy.
And he was blessed.
With Vijñaptimātratā.
Just in time as the boy was saved by a young magus.
Death took a note of her.
This magus was a bit different from the usual ones.
The magus used a precious recourse to save the boys life.
Death would remember be lenient when it was her time.
Shirou Emiya woke up with a gasp.
Something was wrong.
There was something floating beside him
It's face was hidden by thee large black cloak that it wore around it its body.
It had a scythe on it's left bony white hand.
Shirou was not a good magus, but even he heard of the myths and legends.
Of all things he didn't think he would meet death so soon.
He was pretty sure he was stabbed straight through the heart by the guy in a blue spandex anyway.
So that means he's already dead?
"So I guess it's my time?"
"No." Deaths voice was like a whisper in the wind but somehow still clear.
Shirou blinked that's strange, then why could he see Death?
"So what can I do for you?"
"You."
"Me?"
"Friend?"
Shirou's mind blanked as he blinked trying to process what he just heard.
Death wanted to be his friend?
"Right, but a quick question, if I am still alive, how can I see you?"
"My Blessing."
Shirou's eyebrow rose. "You gave me a blessing?"
Death nodded or at least he could see the hood nodding.
"May I ask why?"
"Wanted to be friends but, can't be seen without Death's blessing."
Shirou didn't know how to react.
So he didn't.
"Alight, friends?" He extended his hand forward.
The happiness he could feel emanating from Death removed any wariness he had as its as its bony right hand clasped his own.
"Warm hands." Death whispered reinforcing that his choice was the correct decision.
"Want some tea?"
"Yes Please." Before Shirou could even utter another word he was engulfed in darkness and the next moment the darkness vanished.
He was in front of his house.
Teleportaion?
Well considering this was death it was not that surprising.
He looked towards Death who was still holding his hand.
"Can i have my hand back?" he asked looking to hood.
He still couldn't see deaths face even this close, it was completely dark. like a black hole that his hood floated on top of.
Still Death did let go of his hand.
Taking out his house key he opened the door and began to to head inside and Death followed him.
He was going to make Death some tea and snacks.
Well.
That was a thought that he never thought in his life.
Unfortunately as soon as he had switched on the kettle he heard the bounded field ring.
Death was sitting by the table so it couldn't be Death besides he doubted the field could even work on Death.
His instincts screamed as he jumped out the kitchen just as the man in blue tights came crashing through with his spear and he had just avoided getting speared through again.
He grabbed a roll of paper as he turned to face the man in blue.
"And here I was trying to be considerate. I figured it would hurt less if you saw it coming. Can't believe I got stuck with killing the same person twice in one day."
Death was still sitting in front of the table but had turned to him and whispered.
"Use my blessing. I granted you a special magic circuit in your brain. The Vijñaptimātratā allows you to see the places where I reap from. Though a blade will work best. Try to activate Vijñaptimātratā. You should be able to feel it once you do simply cut along the lines and I will reap what ever it is."
With a slight nod he turned back to the man in blue.
"I guess the worlds a bloody place no matter the era."
Concentrating he chanted.
"Trace. On."
He felt it.
It it was there at the back of his head just waiting for him.
He dashed and grabbed the Kitchen knife dropping the poster in exchange for it as he turned back to the man. He knew that if the blue man wanted he could have stopped him but he didn't.
He found blades easier anyways. Turning a few nerves into circuits he reinforced the knife then he felt it.
At the back of his head like a switch.
He flicked it on.
And then.
The world became different.
No that wasn't right.
The world didn't change.
He did.
His eyes did.
He could see it.
Things that he couldn't see before.
Concepts.
He could see Death.
Death was in everything.
Death was not just in humanoid form.
Death was everywhere.
He could see it of the blue man and on his spear.
He took a stance.
He might just have a chance.
"Shit!" The spear-man cursed. "You have them, Of all things? Shishou told me about them but I have never seen them in my life and even she hasn't." The man sighed. "What rotten luck. Still sorry kid, professional pride here."
With that the man moved.
And Shirou moved to meet him as well.
