Mary, Muffet, and Darla were at their neighbors, the Carsons, petting their pets. They had a bunny named Oscar, a cat named Maybelle, and a dog named Chowder.
"I wish we had pets." Muffet sighed.
"I don't mind not having pets," Mary said, "we've been begging mom for weeks now. And besides, we have these pets!" she said, talking about the Carson's pets.
"I meant a pet of our own, Mary!" Muffet talked back.
"Guys, stop fighting! Maybe your mom will finally give in." Lilac said.
"Yeah, let's go ask mom again!" Darla said. Darla and Muffet ran home to ask Shirley. Mary sighed and shook her head.
"When can we get our pets?" Darla and Muffet begged. Shirley sighed.
"I am not getting you pets! You know how hard that is?" She asked.
"We promise to be responsible and take care of our pets." The sisters said with their right hands on their hearts.
"If you want pets, you girls, and Mary will have to prove to me you are responsible." She said.
"Okay." The sisters sighed, and walked back to their neighbor's house.
"Mary doesn't really want a pet. So how are we going to make her help us?" Darla asked.
"I was thinking we could trick Mary into doing her chores. You'll see." Muffet said.
Inside...
"Mary!" Darla and Muffet called.
"Huh?" She asked, with Dahlia following her.
"Mom said she would get you a new designer dress if you do your chores." Muffet said.
Mary's eyes lit up. "Really? I'll do my chores!" She said and ran home.
"What was that about?" Dahlia asked.
"Nothing." The Temple sisters said innocently and ran home.
