Hi guys this is my very first one shot. Please keep in mind that English is my third language. So, there will be obviously a few grammar errors. I apologize in advance for the cringy parts in this story. I actually never wrote something like this, but I guess I was just in the mood for this cringy story. Btw I already have written a lot of stories, but I still need to write them on my laptop and save them.

She exited the car and got her luggage with the help of the driver out. As she paid him and saw him drive away, she started to look intensely at the streets, houses, trees and other things. Nothing has changed. Nothing at all. After five years absence. Shiho had a little smile on her face, remembering all the amazing moments she had experienced in Beika, especially in the house that was only a few feet away. The strawberry blonde-haired woman made her way to the door and rang the bell waiting for the professor she had missed a lot to answer it. But instead of Hakase opening the door it was him. The reason she left Japan. Shiho had tried convincing herself that he wasn't the reason for her disappearance, but she couldn't lie to herself like that nor deny it. She really left because of him. Shiho couldn't handle a broken heart; she has already been through a lot. But here he was, the raven haired, tall man with those beautiful ocean eyes. He isn't that 19-year-old selfish boy anymore. Shiho's smile slowly faded away while Shinichi was staring at her. They looked deep into each other's eyes. Shiho was caught off guard as Shinichi all the sudden hugged her.

"Kudo-kun...What are you doing?", she questioned trying to keep her monotonous voice and her poker face.

"Shut up and don't destroy the moment, Haibara.", the detective replied slightly red and let go off her, "Do you need help with the bags?"
Shiho just nodded and went inside the house. She got upstairs to the room she used to stay at and smiled. All her old things that she left at Hakase's were still there. Her old clothes, notes, magazines and furniture. It really made her happy to know that Hakase didn't turn her old room into some laboratory or something like that. After Shiho placed her stuff inside the room, she grabbed clean clothes and went to the bathroom to have a shower hoping that the detective would be gone by then. But (un)fortunately he was in the kitchen making dinner for both of them.

"Where's Hakase?", Shiho asked.

"He's in a science convention.", Shinichi replied not turning around.

"And what are you doing here?", she questioned again with an eyebrow furrowed.
"Ever since Ran and I broke up I've been staying at the professor's at least three times a week. Hakase felt quite lonely after you left and so did I.", the detective answered coldly still not facing his partner.

The woman on the other hand was surprised. Shinichi and Ran broke up? How could something like this happen?

"You and Mouri-san broke up?", it was normal for Shiho to feel out of place. After all she left Japan five years ago and didn't keep contact with anybody. She didn't want them to remember her. Haibara Ai should be out of their lives and so should Miyano Shiho. Yet her desire to see her adoptive father and the guy she loved the most grew bigger. After she got a job opportunity in Japan. She decided to go there again. She'd hit two birds with one stone.

"Yes, we broke up. Three years ago.", Shinichi snapped her out of her thoughts, "She's now happier with somebody else. Do you know what, Hai-Miyano? I should have known that Ran and I wouldn't work after I 'left'."

He turned to Shiho, the first thing she noticed, were his eyes. The pain inside them was big, really big. She felt really guilty for leaving him when he needed her the most. That's not the Kudo Shinichi she knew. The one she knew had always that arrogant grin of his and that smirk whenever he had solved a case . He was the biggest optimist she had ever met.

"I'm sorry, Kudo-kun. If it wasn't for APTX-4869 you wouldn't have left her.", the scientist apologized turning away from his gaze.

Shinichi sat beside her on the kitchen table and held her hands in his. The woman turned to him and looked at his soft smile.

"Don't be too harsh on yourself, Miyano. I should actually thank you for shrinking me.", he remarked.

Shiho gave him a confused look. The modern Sherlock Holmes let out a small chuckle, "Being Edogawa Conan had taught me a lot of things. I've met so many new people. I was able to look at things with a totally different point of view. And most importantly, I met you. Think about it, Miyano. If I hadn't taken APTX-4869 we wouldn't have met. You wouldn't have gotten out of the organization. And we wouldn't have been best friends and partners."

The strawberry blonde looked at him in awe. Why did she come back again? Now she's falling for him all again. (If she had even moved on in the first place)

"Miyano, I think it's my turn to ask you. Why did you leave?", he inquired still looking at her eyes.

Shiho looked away again, not facing the detective," I don't want to talk about it, Kudo-kun."

"Shiho, you can't just ignore me like that!", the raven-haired man half shouted.

"Kudo-kun..."

"Stop calling me like that. We've been through way too much to call each other by our surnames."

"Could you stop screaming? You don't even know what I've been through!", Shiho said angrily.

"No, you don't know what I've been through, Shiho. A failed relationship and the disappearance of the only person that really understood me."

Shiho was beyond shocked by every single word he said. And him calling her by her first name didn't help either.

"Damn it. I've always been too dense to realize my feelings and when I finally realized them. You were long gone.", he stood up.

"You're only emotionally frustrated.", Shiho said making her way upstairs. After this 'talk' she wasn't really in the mood to have dinner with him.
Shinichi ran after her, holding her wrist. "I'm not emotionally frustrated, Shiho. And if I would really be then it wouldn't be caused by my breakup with Ran. It would be caused by your disappearance. You left...me, Shiho. Without explanations or a goodbye."; Shinichi stated with a dead serious tone but if you look close you could see him blushing slightly.

"Kudo-kun..."

"It's Shinichi."

"You really won't let go off me, eh?"
"I'll never let you go, again."

Hooray! This is finished for now. I'm actually not satisfied with this, because I really wanted to write a whole confession 'scene', but I wasn't in the mood. I'd really appreciate your reviews and comments (Don't feel forced to comment) Don't forget to check my account every now and then for new stories. Bye Bye!

Edit: I actually uploaded this oneshot on Wattpad over one month ago, because this app is a little bit too complicated to handle.
