Hello everyone, I'm here with another new story, this will be my first chaptered story of Toradora. I've already made a simple one-shot. I don't know why I didn't think I wasn't going to enjoy the series, but it's actually pretty good.

Anyway, this is going to be rated for later chapters and why the hell not, this is also going to be AU. Enjoy the first chapter.

The streets were silent as two pale individuals walked under the light of the full moon. The petite female looked up at the tall male and slightly frowned, "Hey…Ryuuji?" the pair stopped as he looked down at her in confusion, "We've been doing this for a while now…what's stopping our Families from realizing that we're gone and come look for us before they have us killed?"

"Besides the fact that we've been on our own for the past five years and that stupid feud that has been going on between our Families since before we were born, we're going to be of age soon, Taiga and then they have little to no say about any of this," Taiga Aisaka moaned and hung her head as Ryuuji Takasu reached up and patted the top of her head, "And the Council told us that they can't do anything to us because of it…I'm sure that our Families will be pissed about this when they learn of it, but they know the rules like the rest of us,"

"That's only going to add fuel to the fire, Ryuuji," Taiga's stomach growling filled the air between the two and Ryuuji lightly chuckled as Taiga kicked his leg, "It's not funny, damnit,"

"I'm sorry…I guess it's been a while since we last ate…do you want to go and see if we can't find something to eat?" Taiga slightly nodded before the two of them looked back and raced down the street.

The two stood over a mutilated corpse of a teenage boy as the two panted before Taiga rubbed her stomach and licked her lips, "That's better, but aren't you worried someone might find this poor bastard and figure out what-"

"That's why we did a little more damage than usual, Taiga," Ryuuji interrupted the petite female beside him before he began wiping Taiga's mouth. Taiga looked up with wide eyes as Ryuuji shook his head, "They'll think it was someone else, like a mugging gone wrong or a wild animal, so we should be-"

"Give me that!" Taiga took the napkin from him and began wiping her mouth as she groaned, "I'm not some little kid, you know. I'm a 117-year-old Vampire, I don't need someone taking care of my like I'm a child!" Ryuuji laughed as Taiga continued to wipe her mouth, "Stupid dog,"

"Now that's just rude. Give me some credit here," Taiga threw the napkin away, "We're the classiest race out there, much better than a flea-bitten mongrel, wouldn't you agree?" Taiga crossed her arms and looked away with narrowed, flashing eyes, "Now, how about we get the hell away from here?"

"Huh, and why would we do that?"

"Because, princess, it's not like you just shouted our race to the heavens and people are going to start looking for us," Taiga looked up with wide eyes and Ryuuji rubbed the back of his neck, "We better get going. Humans don't really like a race outside of their own. They even tend to treat animals lower than dirt," Taiga slowly nodded before the two Vampires raced down the street.

In a dimly lit room, seven individuals stood, staring at the image of the two Vampires racing down the streets of Japan, "Those two have a long ways to go," the one of the far right spoke, "They have each other to depend on, but their Clans have been at war for centuries now, and ever since young Taiga and young Ryuuji were born, it has only gotten worse,"

"Even still, the two Clans should cease this foolish fighting and rejoice," the one on the far left spoke, "They're only disgracing the proud race of the Vampires with their childish behavior," everyone turned to the being sitting in the center of the group, "Councilwoman Marianne, what say you?"

"This should be entertaining," everyone stared at the woman as she slowly stood up and let out a dry chuckle, "Young Taiga and Ryuuji have each other for company and dependence. Taiga's fiery temper seems to blend well with Ryuuji's calm deminer. Even still, we need to keep a close eye on these two to make sure they don't draw attention to themselves from the humans or their Clans,"

"Councilwoman Marianne?" the being next to her spoke, "How is this in anyway entertaining?"

"Because it brings me back to my days as a Field Agent when we had to guide those onto the right path and to take down Rogues as quickly and efficiently as possible," a ghost of a smile formed across the woman's lips, "I don't doubt for one second that our younglings will go Rogue, but with that meaningless war between their Clans, it's best to play it close to the vest," the other members of the Council looked at the woman as she sat back down, "And now, let's see the other side of this chaotic coin,"

Everyone looked up as the image changed to two Vampire Clans fighting and shouting as buildings behind the Clans burned. The Councilwoman sighed and shook her head, "The Aisaka Clan and the Takasu Clan have been arguing with one another for centuries, and they refuse to listen to the members of the Council. Unless they end this meaningless feud soon, they'll end up destroying one another." The other members nodded in agreement, "And we can't talk to our young friends, they refuse to be a part of this mess their Clans are creating."

"So what do you suggest we do, Councilwoman?" the one on the inner left questioned as the woman hummed and rubbed her chin.

Taiga and Ryuuji sat on a bench in the empty park as they watched as cars drove down the street. Taiga groaned as she leaned back and stared up at the night sky, "Something wrong?" Taiga shook her head as Ryuuji leaned back and stared up at the sky as well, "No, I can tell something's bothering you. Is that blood not agreeing with-" Taiga glared at him with narrowed eyes and he laughed as he shook his head, "Right, never bring that up…I remember,"

Taiga hummed and nodded before looking up at the night sky again, "Do you think they're still fighting?" Ryuuji hummed and arched a brow in confusion, "Our Families…do you think they'll stop fighting? And what even set this pointless war off?"

"Who knows," Ryuuji sighed as he slumped over and shook his head, "All they're doing at this point is bringing shame to other Vampires who have more common sense than that. If they hate one another then fine, they can't hate each other until hell freezes over, but they need to open their damned eyes and see what they're doing,"

"Yeah," Taiga frowned as the air between them grew still.

Taiga looked at Ryuuji and shook her head, "Hey Ryuuji?" Ryuuji hummed and looked up, "Do you remember the day we first met?"

"How can I forget. It was almost thirty years ago and you nearly took my head off with that bokken," a playful smile crossed the petite Vampire's lips, "And I got ready to knock you back, but then when we looked at each other in the eyes…we sort of stopped…the Council said it was because we were going to be good friends and stop this war between our families, but I have a feeling that they know more than they're letting on."

"Yeah, but you know we're not allowed to question the Council like that," Taiga sighed ad looked up once again, "We tried for a long time to talk to our Families into ending this meaningless fight they're in, but that only angered them more and thought that we were conspiring against them. My parents locked my in the dungeons for weeks at a time,"

"And my mother was getting ready to disown me every time I brought it up,"

"And yet we continued to try and talk to our Families into ending this war…until five years ago," the two frowned as the air grew stale, "They were going to force us to fight one another, but the night before the arranged fight, we met up in our spot and left, knowing that if our Families see us now, they're in their rights to kill us for abandoning them like this, but…I'll gladly welcome death if it means getting away from all the senseless arguing,"

"No arguments here," Ryuuji leaned back and stared up at the sky, "I'd gladly welcome death just to get some peace too. For the first hundred and twelve years of our lives, our Families told us that the opposing Family was evil and must suffer for their crimes against the Vampires, and now…I don't even know what to think,"

"Yeah,"

"Hey, kids!" the two looked back to see a police officer approaching them and they narrowed their eyes, "What the hell are you kids doing out? Don't you know there's a curfew in effect?" the two looked at each other in confusion, "You best get home before I take you down to the station and we contact your families to come an-"

"That won't be necessary," Ryuuji stood up and Taiga stood beside him, "We were just getting ready to leave," the officer nodded as the two turned and walked away.

The two slowly walked down the street before Taiga sighed and shook her head, "Ryuuji, where the hell are we going? We don't have much of a home and we can't go back to that nightmare and I doubt someone is going to be kind enough to welcome two total strangers into their homes, especially once they learn that we're not human."

"You know as well as I that even if we do find a human that'll welcome us into their home, if one human finds us repulsive and tell us to leave, we'll going to have to…no…we'll stay in that abandon building for the time being until we can find a place to stay where we won't be disturbed."

"Another abandoned building?" Taiga groaned in annoyance, "I'm getting the feeling we're never going to find a place of our own," Ryuuji sighed and shook his head before painting the top of Taiga's head, "Let's go…I hate this, but it's better than waiting for the sun to come up and kill us,"

"I think we've devoured enough souls to last a couple of hours in the sun," Taiga groaned before the two of them continued to wall down the street.

The two Vampires sat in an empty, rundown building as they listened to the nocturnal creatures playing their nightly music. Ryuuji looked up at Taiga as she hugged her knees to her chest, "Taiga…are you…are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Ryuuji, but one of these days we're not going to find a building to stay in for the day…what are we going to do then?"

"We'll think of something, Taiga…I'll be of age next month, so I'll find us a place, and even still, we'll try and ask the Council for help," Taiga moaned as Ryuuji stood up and walked over to her and sat down beside her, "I know it's not a perfect idea, but it'll only be for a few more weeks," Taiga sighed and slowly nodded before leaning up against him.

The members of the Council watched as the scene unfolded in front of them before the one on the inner right spoke, "Councilwoman Marianne, do you believe it's time to tell them tha-"

"No…it'll only add to their burdens," the woman in the middle poke in a stern tone, "Let our young friends enjoy themselves for a while longer and when the time comes, we will tell them about this,"

"But Councilwoman, they have a right to know about this as soon as possible before something happens to one of them and the other goes-"

"If it comes to that, we will do our best to keep them safe, until then, let the only worries they have be their Clans and where they'll stay for the day. They're still young and they don't need to worry themselves over this," a collective sigh filled the room as the other members of the Council nodded and they looked back at the scene in front of them.

Obvious Vampire AU and I know I have a Vampire series in SVTFOE, but since that's nearing its end and I wanted to try and see if this'll work. Enjoy.
