"Everyone has a secret."
Tonks as the angelic being liked to be called kept hearing the words repeated over and over again. The only problem is that no one else secret could end up getting them kicked out of paradise.
The scent of sour demonic sweat made her head spin, in that needful sort of way, that would have her giving herself over to the sleeping beauty next to her. She felt the gorgeous blonde's arms go around her waist.
"You shouldn't dwell on it, love," she purred, pulling herself against Tonks's back, nibbling on her ear lobe. "If what we're doing is wrong, how can it feel so right?"
"For starters," Tonks said, trying to ignore the aching need to listen to Fleur, to let Fleur pull her back into the bed and have her way with her a few more times, "you're a demon. Angels and demons aren't supposed to be together. We're…"
"That's not true and you know it." Fleur's soft pink lips kissed their way across her shoulders making it harder for Tonks to pull away. "I'm an angel too, after all."
Tonks snorted out a laugh at this truth. "A fallen one."
"But does it matter? As long as I have this it shouldn't."
Tonks had been dreading the fact that Fleur would bring up their soul marks. The marks that indicated that they belonged solely to each other and no one else. The marks that kept calling her back here no matter how hard she fought the pull of their call. Stroking the diamond shape mark that was on her upper arm, the one that corresponded with the one over Fleur's heart, she sighed. Why couldn't she have the mark of another angel, and not a fallen one?
"It shouldn't matter," Tonks stated slowly, "you're right. But it does matter. It does matter that we can't meet up in public unless I want to be a fallen angel too. It matters more than you apparently think it does."
"My love," Fleur said, stroking a hand down Tonks's jawline, "we deserve to be happy too. The creator should have seen to that."
"He did. We are supposed to be happy in his service, not in finding physical pleasure with each other."
"You weren't arguing the point a few minutes ago. In fact, I think you rather enjoyed finding physical pleasure with me, or should we test that theory?" Fleur's smile turned into the feral grin she used for leading mortals astray.
The grin did nothing to assage the ache coming from the need that Tonks was feeling. The grin only fueled the lustful need, making Tonks moan as Fleur's hand ghosted over her sensitive skin.
"That's not fair," Tonks moaned, moving to turn so she was face to face with the blue eyed demon woman.
"I'm a demon," the blue eyes shined with mirth. "We don't play fair. You knew that when we found each other."
As the sweet taste of Fleur's lips mixed with the sour scent of their love making Tonks allowed herself to be pulled into memories of their first meeting. A meeting that was both very private and public at the same time.
Tonks had been sent to find one of her missing sisters of the army of heaven among the mortals. It was her first time among the mortals but it was very easy to see the radiant being tempting the angelic Hermione.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, demon," Tonks said, feeling the pull of something unknown towards this demon as soon as she got close enough. "Hermione, it's time to go home now."
"She's a big girl," the blonde haired, blue eyed waif purred seductively, smirking at the reaction Tonks was having. "She isn't the only big girl who can figure things out on her own, now is she?"
"Hermione," Tonks said, motioning the younger angel away.
"No fun," the demon murmured, walking around Tonks, eyes roaming all over her body until they came to rest on something on Tonks's arm. "You've got one too?"
"One what?" Tonks asked, trying to look at what the demon was looking at. She then realized it was the diamond shaped mark on her arm. "I've had this since I was brought into being. Why do you care?"
"It is the same exact shape as my own," the blue eyes registered shock. "I figured only the ones sent to perdition with the Morningstar were given these. A warning to be wary of us. I guess I was wong, huh?"
Tonks wanted to say that she was nothing like the demon. That she would never have been punished with such a heathen mark upon herself. The mark must be for some other reason. But all she could do was stare at the demon.
"Don't you want to ask me any questions?" came the silky voice, making Tonks knees grow weak.
"What would I have to ask you?"
"Where my mark is and if you can see it?"
Tonks found her curiosity began to rise in more ways than one. It wouldn't hurt to find out those answers to the questions, right? Looking around to make sure no other heavenly beings had been sent after her wayward sister, she leaned close to the blonde woman. The scent coming off of her sourly sweet and inviting at the same time.
"Where is your mark and would mind if I saw it?" Tonks asked, hearing something she'd never heard in her own voice before. Wanting. No more like a desperate needing. Whatever it was it heightened as the woman took her hand and led up a flight of stone stairs.
"I'm Fleur," she said, as they walked down the dark hallways, Fleur beauty and radiant light being the only thing Tonks could see.
"They call me Tonks," Tonks answered as they stopped at the door marked with the sign of the beast.
Fleur walked into the beyond the door turning around with a seductive smile and wave of her hand. "Come in," she said. "You do want the answers to your questions, don't you?"
Nodding Tonks walked into her first encounter in the unknown. When she walked out of the room hours later, smelling of sour demon sweat and shame, she knew she couldn't go back. She didn't want to.
Tonks felt the call of heaven as she and Fleur fell panting to the bed drenched in sweat but happy. She sighed as they summoned her back. She didn't want to leave her demonic lover's embrace. Not after the passion they'd just shared.
"What happened to all the talk about being happy in heaven's service, my love?" Fleur purred as she snuggled into the pillow on her side of the bed. "Or was that all just lip service to your creator and master?"
"I am happy," Tonks sighed, "I just wish I didn't have to leave right now."
"It's best for you to go. You wouldn't do well in hell and there would be no stopping them from sending you there if they found out about us."
"I know."
"We'll see each again. We just have to be more careful about when you sneak off."
Tonks dressed and then disappeared in the fluttering of wings. She loved her demonic soulmate more than she loved being an angel.
"Everyone has a secret," Tonks whispered to herself, "and your the one I love the most, Fleur."
I hope you all enjoyed An Angel's Lover.
