The only things I own are my own OCs
This fanfic will also have its own story that might go far out of norm for Honkai Impact. Since this story takes place in the future, and the current story of HI3 is not finished I will have to make my own assumptions of the ending so if you do not like this, then do not read this.
I also want to apologize for any mistakes that I will make during the fanfic in both lore, and grammar. The Lore of HI3 can be a confusing mess if not studied well, and as for grammar I am not good with English writing so I will most likely make some mistakes. I will try my best to correct any I see.
There may also be some missing words in some sentences that may cause some sentences to be weird and nonsensical. I will try to fix them once I am able to find them.
Prologue
Ever since the beginning of time, there were beings known as the Honkai. The Honkai have always had a disdain for humanity on Earth as they would try to end life using many different methods. One of, if not their most dangerous methods were the creation of the Herrschers, beings with the power to bend the laws of physics to their liking. The Honkai and humans residing on Earth would engage in war over their own ideals
In the first era, humans had built an advanced society with high technology that expanded globaly. This high advanced era were able to combat the god-like Herrschers through their technology that gave birth to powerful warriors, known as MANTIS. The strongest of the MANTIS, Kevin Kaslana, was able to fight, and defeat the 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th Herrschers on his own. Despite his overpowering strength however, Kevin, and the rest of Earth could do nothing in the face of the Final Herrscher. Known as "the Herrscher of the End", she singlehandedly fought all of Earth's defenders with ease, and destroyed civilization on Earth.
After the destruction of the previous era, surviving humans from the previous era began to rebuild civilization. The Honkai did not leave humanity alone as they continued to pursue to end all humans. While the earliest attack from the Honkai occurred in the year 2717 BC of the second era the first awakening of a Herrscher would not occur until 1952 CE. This awakening, called the "1st Honkai Impact" would give birth to the 1st Herrscher known as "the Herrscher of Reason". Schicksal, an organization that has existed for a long time was able to capture the Herrscher for research. Despite the wish of humanity to defeat the Honkai, Schicksal's leader, Otto Apocalypse, seemed hesitant to kill the 1st Herrscher. This would cause a part of Schicksal to branch off and become the organization "Anti-Entropy". Both had different ways to combat the Honkai with Schicksal using Valkyries, who were girls that were infused with Honkai energy, and Anti-Entropy using Honkai powered mechs. In 2000, Schicksal would perform inhumane experiments of children who were resistant to the Honkai. This would be the direct cause of the 2nd Honkai Impact as one of the children who was apart of the experiment, Sirin would awaken her Herrscher powers, and began attacking the Earth. It would take all of Schicksal to defeat Sirin. While Schicksal was successful they would lose many of their own Valkyries, including Cecilia Schariac who was known as Schicksal's strongest valkyrie. Before her passing, Cecilia had just given birth to her daughter, Kiana Kaslana. Otto would use Kiana's DNA to replicate a clone of her. After 422 failed attempts, Otto decided to fuse the Core of the 2nd Herrscher into the 423rd clone, and with Sirin's desire for life the 423rd clone was a success.
Fast forward to 2014, in Nagazora where a mini Honkai Impact occurred. This impact was caused by a girl named Mei after she was infused by a Herrscher core. The remaining survivors of the impact, Raiden Mei, Bronya Zaychik, and Kiana Kaslana, who was actually the 423rd clone known as K423 were transferred to High School, which was a valkyrie training school built by Theresa Apocalypse. This would lead to a massive chain of events that would occur, including the reawakening of the 2nd Herrscher inside of Kiana/K423. K423 would go on to be able to manifest her Herrscher powers without going insane and would play a vital part in defeating the Honkai. However, despite having most of the Herrscher cores on the side of humanity as well as having Kevin Kaslana who was trapped in the Sea of Quanta, the overwhelming power of the Final Herrscher still proved to be too much for the Earth. Alas, while the destruction of civilization and humanity was less successful it is undeniable that they had failed. Many attempts were made to rebuild, however, due to many arguments between Schicksal, Anti-Entropy, and many other outsiders a civil war would occur among the world. The war would end in Schicksal victory and would give them access to every Honkai related thing possible.
2531 years after the war the Honkai has returned to finish what they set out to do. While Schicksal has helped the Earth advance back to a high tech society the Earth would not be ready for an unexpected attack as an unknown Herrscher would awaken, and attack the Earth. This is where the beginning of a new story will start, a story of an unexpected new hero.

?'s Perspective
Darkness, it was the first thing I saw. I was confused as to why this was the first thing I saw, but shortly after the darkness began fading away. As I opened my eyes I finally saw the light, but not in the way I thought I would. My vision became less vivid, and the light I saw was burning fire. As I tried to push my body up I received an intense pain that spread throughout. I groaned in pain as I rose up. I tried to look at my body to see why I was hurting. Looking through my torn rags I saw many bruises, burn marks, cuts, and stab wounds. When I stood up I looked at my surroundings, and it left me very confused. I was surrounded by destroyed buildings, raging fires, and many corpses. I decided to limp my way through the destruction to find answers, but I only became more confused with more exploring.
I look around at the destruction that occurred. I try to remember what happened to the city, but I stumbled upon a problem. I don't remember what happened to the city. Surely I should since I woke up in the city right? I try to focus more on remembering memories, and that's when I stumbled upon another problem. My memories weren't coming to me at all. Did something happen to me to cause me to lose my memories? I sat down for a little bit to try to recollect memories, but again to no avail. After a while, I decided to explore the city again in hopes of answers.
I limped into a destroyed building that was filled with books. Seeing how the building was filled with many books I assumed that it was probably a library. I explored the building to search for hints of my location. The debris from the mayhem that happened covered most of the former library, so I was forced to lift up bricks and slabs of wood which only help the pain on my body worsen. It didn't really help that I had to manually dust off the books. I spent about an hour skimming through four books. Unfortunately, they did not fill me with any ideas on where I was, but the books were still pretty interesting.
The first book I skimmed through was about the Humanitarian-Crisis War from over 2000 years ago. The war was dubbed so because it occurred at a time where humans were desperate to recover from the devastation, but many disagreements caused a war. I was confused on what the book meant by devastation, but the story intrigued me. The war separated a group of friends with the names, Kiana, Mei, and Bronya with their pictures included. The three were forced to fight each other against their will. Sadly, because of the destruction caused to this city some parts of the book were destroyed including parts of the ending.
The second book was an info book about Schicksal. The book put Schicksal in high regard, saying how they were the reason why the devastation of the world was lessened due to them. Schicksal had a group of warriors known as Valkyries, a female that was empowered by Honkai energy. These warriors were, according to the book, the best warriors on Earth. The book even included some pictures of some of their best Valkyries named, Cecilia Schariac, Bianca or Durandal, and Kiana Kaslana. What put me a little off was the picture of Kiana Kaslana in the Schicksal book looked a little different. The war book had a picture of a Kiana that had heterochromatic eyes that had some life in it. The Kiana in the Schicksal book had the same eye colors unlike the war book, and her eyes seemed more lifeless. Like the war book, the Schicksal book was also partially destroyed.
The third book, which was an autobiography of an Anti-Entropy scientist conflicted with the second book. In the autobiography, the scientist always puts Schicksal in a negative light and revealed some shady things that were left out in the Schicksal book like how the Valkyrie program shortens the life span of a female. It also blamed Schicksal for the causation of the destruction of civilization. Again, this book was partially destroyed, but at least this one was only missing a few pages instead of being actually destroyed.
The last book, and probably the most useful was a book about something called the Honkai. The book describes the Honkai as these terrible beings whose purpose was to eradicate humanity. The biggest section of the book was dedicated to beings called Herrschers. Herrschers were god-like beings that had powers that could mess with the laws of physic. Reading the Herrscher section was odd. I began to have a headache, not from the info on Herrschers, but it felt like someone or something was trying to get me to stop reading it. The headache doesn't occur anywhere else in the book at all. It happens every time I flip through the Herrscher section. How in the world did someone put some sort of black magic shit in this? The info the book gave me allowed me to form the hypothesis that the destroyed city was probably the doings of the Honkai.
After skimming through the books I was only left with more unnecessary questions for myself that probably shouldn't need answers to for now. Like what the hell happened to the trio of friends? Or what was the previous civilization like? Wait there was something called a previous civilization? I decided to bring these books with me to review them later as I limped away from the library.
It didn't take long for my body to slowly recover. I slowly gain the ability to walk again after limping for a while. I wandered aimlessly around the destroyed city. The only sight I saw was more destroyed buildings and only smelled smoke. That was what I saw for the next ten minutes until I entered a big open area within the city. The area smelled terrible. The scent it gave off immediately burnt my noise as I reacted to it. I walked closer to the smell in order to satisfy my curiosity. The closer I got to the smell, the worse it got.
When I got to the source of the putrid smell I saw a gruesome sight. In what I assumed to be the center of the city were the corpses of many people. The sight of the bodies managed to be even worse than the city itself. The bodies were mutilated in many grotesque ways with some bodies are having many cuts, missing some limbs, and sometimes an entire half of their body. There were also some bodies that were bent or contorted into ways a body shouldn't even be with a body that was bent sideways left so badly that their head was touching their feet. The only thing that varied worse than the body mutilation was the age range of the bodies. People ranging from babies that looked to be around a couple of months old to the elderly were laying dead on the streets. There were even some women that seemed to be pregnant that weren't spared.
As I walked past countless of dead, rotting bodies I eventually found dead bodies belonging to what seemed to be soldiers. All of the soldiers were female. I kneeled down to examine one of the bodies and saw that the body had on some armor that looked very similar to the armor worn by the Valkyries in the Schicksal book, especially similar to those worn by Durandal and Kiana. I stood up and examined the other dead Valkyries. Like the dead citizens, there were countless of them. I ended up stopping at one that had a one-shoulder backpack next to her. Unlike her body, the backpack was still completely intact. I decided to take the backpack as it was worthless for a dead person. I opened it up to find some useless things like empty water canteens, and books about combat. There was also a map too with names, and locations of cities, however since I had no idea where I was the map became pretty useless. I emptied the backpack of the combat manuals and other useless materials. I decided to keep the map however in the chance that I was able to find my location. I put my books and the map into the one-shouldered backpack and wore it. I think I had enough of the dead bodies. I was about to continue my walk until I heard a crack behind me. The crack scared the hell out of me. I turned to look back, only to see the dead bodies I passed. I looked on the ground to see if there were any footprints, but there weren't any. There was a possibility that I made that noise, but anything is possible now especially in a destroyed city. I slowly became more cautious than before. I continued my walk around the city, but now I was a bit more terrified.
As I explored the city I had a feeling that I was being stalked by a mysterious force. I didn't know who they were, but I can assure that whoever they were that they sucked at stealth. I kept hearing random cracks on the road every now and then. However the fact that they can at least stealth already signaled me that they could probably fuck me up. I began walking faster to get away from my stalker. The sounds of cracks became louder and occurred more commonly than before. This was when I realized that my theory of the sounds being my fault became less true. Scared shitless I began to shift into a full-on sprint, and that's when the sounds of cracking roads stopped, and sounds of multiple fast footsteps began. This was the moment I knew that I was being hunted. As I tried to get away I turned into an alleyway, and to my own surprise, I found a woman. This was the first person that I saw in the city. In desperation, I ran to her and begged for her to help me.
"Thank god, Lady I need you to help-" I tried to say, but the woman began screaming. The screaming cut me off and caught me off guard. The ear-shattering scream knocked me to the ground. I looked up to the lady with a confused expression. Why was she so terrified at the sight of me begging for help?
"STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!" The woman yelled before running off. This only left me with questions. What the hell did I do to scare her off so badly? Was there something on my face? Was it my clothing? A random thought occurred to me then. Did I cause the destruction of the city? No, I probably didn't. I don't know how I would even get close to the level of destruction at all. I got up and looked down the alleyway.
"Wait, come back!" I yelled as I tried to chase the running woman.
I tried to sprint to her, but I began to feel a sharp pain in my leg. I tripped onto the ground. My leg was in deep pain. It was unbearable. I felt like my leg had just been sat on for multiple hours, had low blood circulation, lit on fire, and was pierced by a long stick. I looked at my leg. I don't know how, but someone shot me in my right leg. Fearing for my life I got up and tried my hardest to run. I felt an adrenaline rush occur as I kept running away from my perpetrator who was shooting at me.
I ran into a building and hid in a room. I slammed the door, and unexpectedly many loud screeches were released. I turned to look at where the noise came from. There I saw a large group of people. Mostly women, but there were some men, and kids as well. Seeing them gave me a sense of relief that didn't last long. A few seconds later and I felt the adrenaline go away, and many stinging pains begin to occur. I never realized that when I was running away that I was shot multiple times. The adrenaline helped postpone the pain, but now that it was gone I released a gigantic scream. I felt like I was stung with hypodermic needles that were just heated over lava. I tried to calm myself, and try to cope with the pain. I tried to plead to the group of people to help me.
"Please, you got to help me" I plead.
However, the group only backed away, their faces full of fear while mine with only confusion. My heart was slightly broken, I, for some reason was looked upon as a monster. The eyes of the group looked upon with fear, their irises shrinking to immeasurable sizes, and stutters that only help support the fear within their minds. Did I do something so terrible to garner this reaction? I can't right? I mean I woke up with many injuries, presumably from the attack on the city so they should believe I was another survivor, right? Again, I made an attempt to walk over to plead for help, and like last time they only backed up. I began walking closer, only to stop when I saw my vision getting red. The outer circle of my vision was slowly infested with a crimson blood-like aura. My heart began beating faster, my body becoming more numb by the second, and my consciousness fading like boiling water. It was then when a woman began running towards me. I thought that she was going to help me, but instead, she did the opposite. She tackled into me, knocking me to the ground, and causing a chain reaction.
"Everybody, run and get out of here!" Someone yelled. Everyone in the pact, every single one, including the children ran out the door, stomping over me in the process. My ribs began to crack under the constant pressure, my nose was broken like a twig, and tiny geysers of blood shot out of my bullet wounds with every step forced upon my already broken body. Slowly my vision became less red, my body and consciousness came back to me, only to feel more pain than when it left.
I laid on the floor in pain. I twitched constantly in pain, only for more blood to bleed out of my body. The constant blood loss made me light-headed, and if continued I would die here. While I don't know what happened before now, I must have been some terrorist if all I am only getting negative reactions. Now I just want to know my past much more! But now was not the time to ponder on my past. I need to focus on the pain.
I tried to sit myself up against the wall. I relaxed my body by releasing tense muscles and slowing my breathing to a regular rate. It didn't help much, but at least the pain was weakening. Suddenly I felt a warm surge. I looked at my body and saw that my wounds began to heal. The bruises, cuts, shot wounds, and every other injury began to mold and new pieces of muscle and skin would replace the now-gone wounds. My body has now been made whole, and freshly new. I was left confused. I felt a slight joy as my wounds were completely gone. I didn't know I had this ability to heal. It would have been so useful had I known earlier. I jumped up and began testing out my fully functional body. I stretched every limb, jumped up and down, and ran in place. My body felt like it just woke up after a good sleep. I continued to try out other things on my body, until out of nowhere a bright light shined upon me, causing me to be blind momentarily. I tried to look through the light to see what was in front of me. There were three girls who were pointing their weapons at me. I guess these were my perpetrator. I don't know what they want with me, but seeing how they were shooting at me I believed that they were out to kill me, which only further cemented the idea that I probably wasn't a well-liked person before this.
"Capture him, and bring him back to base." I hear one of the girls command.
The girl who ordered the command was pretty tall compared to her companions. The top of her head reached to about my mouth, almost close to my nose. In contrast, her companions barely reached my shoulders. This is all assumption though since there was a distance between the four of us, and I could be misjudging. The commander stood out in many other ways. Unlike the other two subordinates with natural colored hair, she had white hair that reached about chest level, and bangs that were split around the left side of her head and curving outwards.
Going back to the present, her orders didn't make any sense. "Capture him, and bring him back to base." doesn't come off well, especially when you were shooting at me minutes ago.
"Alright, think, there are three of them and one of you." I think to myself. "What are you going to do?". Nothing I guess because immediately I received a punch to my stomach which forced a lot of air out of me. The two girls working under the commander grabbed my arms and began dragging me across the floor. I tried to resist by pulling myself away. I began kicking at their legs which caused them to trip. Their grip was weakened which allowed me to free myself, and make an attempt to run again. My attempt was short-lived however as one of the girls pulled a gun and shot at my knee. I tripped onto the ground and began grasping my knee in pain. I felt a hand grab the collar of my rags. Another hand grabbed my chin, forcing me to look at one of the girls. I tried another attempt to resist, but my luck ran short this time.
"Hold still." One of the girls commanded. She pulled out a syringe, and quickly stabbed it into my arm. She pushed down on the syringe which injected me with something. Whatever she injected me with was not a good thing. For some reason I began to feel tired, my body became numb, and my eyes were forcing themselves shut. I tried to resist falling asleep, but one of the girls held my mouth shut, and forcefully closed my eyes.
"Shhhh…It will be alright." Was what I heard her say. Yeah, with all the shooting and bullets put into me by them, I highly doubt this will be alright!
…..
….
Argh, why does everything hurt?
I can't clarify how long I was knocked out for, but the next time I woke up I was on a white bed. I lifted myself up and looked around. The room I was in had some bookshelves, a couch, a coffee table, a gigantic window that mostly acted as a wall, and many other things. What bugged me was that the entire room was white. I looked out of the window and saw an equally white city. I decided to get off my bed. Getting off of the bed seemed to be a bad idea or at least I think? There was a snap sound at my forearm. I looked at my arm and saw many cords that were connected to myself. I decided to rip all of them off as they didn't have any relevant purposes for me. I walked to the window and spectated over the city. This city, unlike the last city I was at, was intact. I looked down at many different people who seemed to be acting normal, and the city overall seemed peaceful.
I decided to use my time to explore the room that I was kidnapped to. The entirely white room seemed pretty big, actually scratch that, it was pretty big! The room was just one gigantic room. There were no other doors except for what looked like the exit. The living room, kitchen, bedroom, and everything else was in one room. Ok well, almost everything. I went searching for the bathroom, and as it turns out, this room doesn't have one. What kind of moron designs a room without including the bathroom?! The furniture in the room was the only thing keeping the room from being completely white. Most, if not all of the furniture was black in color. I'm not one to complain about black and white color combinations, but I think this is too much. I walked over to the bookshelves to look at the book selections. The bookshelves were filled with many different types of books ranging from history books, romance, comic books, manga, and more. It was here I noticed that there was a copy of the Schicksal book that I found in perfect shape. I grabbed it immediately and went to skimming parts that were missing from the copy earlier. I didn't learn much more from the perfect copy. The part missing from my book was a section on Schicksal's leader, Otto Apocalypse. According to the book, Otto is the smartest person, not just in Schicksal, but the entire world. He has been stated to be somehow gifted in the knowledge of the Honkai, often being credited for stopping the Honkai before the devastation of civilization. Honestly, I stopped reading after a couple of pages. I know this was a Schicksal based book so there was some bias, but reading Otto's section just felt more like reading a fangirls obsession with Otto. Not only that, but I just felt a burning rage while skimming through Otto's section. The bookshelf still had some empty slots in them. I searched the room to find the backpack that was on me when I was taken away. The backpack was set beside the bed and seemed to be untouched. I opened it to grab my books and walked back to the bookshelves. I placed all four books from earlier into the empty slots, but on the fourth book, a loud buzzer rang that managed to startle the hell out of me. I thought that I just alerted someone, so I believed that I was fucked. The buzzer only rang for three seconds, however, and shortly afterward I got myself up. Now I was just confused, why the hell did shelving a book cause a buzzer to ring. To make sure that it was the bookshelf, and nothing else, I pulled the fourth book out and pushed it back on the shelf. Immediately after shelving the book the same annoying buzzer rang again for the second time. So it was the bookshelf, wait, why the hell does a bookshelf have a buzzer sound installed within it?
Honestly, I shouldn't question it, I mean this is the same room that doesn't have a bathroom!
With nothing else to do, I pulled a book off the bookshelves to waste time. I also decided to go to the cabinet in the kitchen to look for some snacks. While the snack cabinet was filled to the brim, the variety of snacks was small with the only snacks being saltine crackers, potato chips, and fruit snacks. I grabbed a pack of fruit snacks and I walked back to the living room. I opened the fruit snacks and began reading. Time flew by as I read through my first book. I didn't keep count of how long I was reading for, because who does that? Anyways it wasn't until I heard my door unlocked that I stopped reading. Through the door came a girl. I don't know what I did, but the girl became startled upon seeing me on the couch.
"What are you doing out of the bed?" She asked.
I didn't know how to properly respond to the girl so I stayed silent. It probably wasn't the best option. The girl walked up to me and tried to drag me back to the bed, but I was stronger than her so I really didn't move. She was really persistent in pulling me back to the bed for some reason. It wasn't until after two minutes that she stopped. She sat on the ground and panted from exhaustion. I looked at her and decided to examine her. The girl wore a long, white jacket that seemed unnecessarily long. She had a pair of glasses that were folded to clip onto her shirt pocket. What interested me about her appearance was her hair. She had very dark blue hair, it looked pretty close to ultramarine in color, and it was tied into a single ponytail on the back reaching all the way down to her thighs. Her hair also had some patches coming down to her cheeks that were covering her ears. She stood back up and brushed herself off. I decided to take this opportunity to ask her a question.
"Hey lady, where am I?". The lady looked up at me. She let out a smile which seemed pretty awkward after her attempt to pull me.
"Right, I should introduce you to this city" The girl let out a few coughs before she began speaking.
"You are in Crescent City, the most advanced city in this world, Crescent City is home to Schicksal, the world's best defense force to combat the Honkai. Schicksal's technology has helped advance human civilization back to its fullest. Right now, you are at the dorm of the Rebooted High-school." The lady continued to give me more exposition. "Here in Crescent City is where we train our Valkyries, our best bet against the Honkai. For your information, I should tell you that all Valkyries are female." This was when I decided to step in to ask a question.
"Wait, so why are all Valkyries female?"
The girl was able to come back quickly with a statement.
"It's due to the fact that Valkyries are humans augmented by Honkai energy. According to research done from a long time ago, females are always compatible with Honkai energy."
"Ok, so what about males? Are they incompatible with Honkai energy?"
"Actually males are compatible with Honkai energy, it's just that there are few that are compatible, and when they are compatible, the connection to it is weaker than females."
Well, I guess that answers my question. So Valkyries are all female due to design, but males can also be Valkyries.
"Earlier, you said that you train your Valkyries here. Mind explaining a little bit more?" I asked the lady.
The lady responded back, "Yeah sure." "Here at we train our rookie Valkyries to learn about the Honkai, the history of the world, and how to fight. Unlike most other schools, there is no higher class or grade system. Here everyone is treated as if they are in the same grade no matter the age." She continued on. "What we do have is a ranking system. The ranking system tells us how good a Valkyrie is in terms of combat, knowledge, leadership, and more factors. The ranking system does cause a bit of a hierarchy in the school though so it does have its drawback, personally I'm not a big fan of it."
After she finished, I decided to ask the crucial question, well for me at least.
"So, why was I taken here by some of your Valkyries?"
This time the lady didn't respond immediately. In fact, she didn't say anything for ten seconds until I had to snap her back to reality. It was here when she gave me a response, but the tone of her response showed less confidence.
"Well…see…..when Arastan City was attacked by the Honkai we assumed that a majority, if not all of the citizens there would die by the assault. When we scanned the city, we found an enormous amount of Honkai energy that would make it impossible for an average human to survive. So when we found you alive and mostly well, we thought to take you in to-" I stopped the lady from talking.
"So you decided to send Valkyries to fire at me for an attempt to rescue me?! That makes little sense, if not any at all!" I continued rambling. "Plus there were also groups of citizens that seemed fine within the city, so why didn't you rescue them at all?"
"Ok, the living citizens, we did rescue them. They're actually in a hospital right now." She corrected me. "As for you…..well…the reason why we attacked you was….…" The lady went into another silence. What lie was she gonna try to tell me now?
"….So the reason we decided to bring you here was that unlike the citizens, you seemed to have a higher immunity to the Honkai energy around the area….yeah that seemed about right"
What the fuck? Did she just completely skip over my assault? And what did she just whisper? I feel like the lady was trying to hide something from me. Ok, well just roll with it for now. I began asking another question
"So you predict that I have a high resistance to Honkai energy, what are you going to do with me then?"
The lady decided to turn her entire body to face me. "Easy, we are going to turn you into a Valkyrie!"
…
…
"Excuse me what?" I responded back.
"You heard me, We are going to train you into a Valkyrie, or a Chevalier which is the male equivalent."
I began panicking, "But why though, I just got here from being attacked by the Honkai, and now I'm being forced to fight?!"
The lady responded, "Look, you have a high immunity to Honkai energy which is extremely useful to fight the Honkai, plus the Honkai are more ferocious than ever before. Are you really just going to let them attack you while you have no idea of how to fight back?"
"That's…a fair point." As much as I didn't want to become a Valkyrie or Chevalier I can't deny that the lady brought up a good point. However it was what was said next by the lady that convinced me more.
"It was also Overseer Otto's request for you to become a Chevalier in the first place." This threw me for a loop. Overseer Otto? As in Otto Apocalypse? He is still alive? How? And why did he request for me to become a Chevalier?
"Overseer Otto? Lady, I need you to tell me more about him." I asked the lady.
The lady sighed, "Alright, here's what you need to know. Overseer Otto is our supreme leader of Schicksal. He is the brilliant mastermind who came up with augmenting Valkyries with Honkai energy, and without his knowledge we would have been less successful against the Honkai."
Alright, that explanation…literally told me nothing I haven't known.
"Ok, but why does the Overseer want me to become a Chevalier?"
The lady only shrugged her shoulders at the response, but she began to oddly look away.
"I don't know, he hasn't told me nor anyone why he wanted you to become a Chevalier."
So not even she knows why. Now, this just seems really suspicious. I feel like Otto is trying to hide something, because just employing someone to be a Chevalier randomly is not really a smart move unless there is actual evidence in doing so. Like why specifically me? Because I was sent to the dorms of this school while everyone else was sent to the hospital. If I was somehow managed to live through a Honkai invasion because I was resistant to their energy, Otto wanting me to become a Chevalier due to that, then why isn't he making the other survivors become Valkyries or Chevaliers? Sure I had higher resistance, but the survivors were also resistant.
I was originally going to ponder on my thoughts but I realized that for all the time I have been talking to the lady that I never actually got her name.
"Say, I never got your name." The lady looked at me with a slight surprise.
"Oh yeah I haven't yet, I should introduce myself." The lady reached her hand outwards to me. "My name is Sarah, but because of my status here I will need you to call me Professor Sarah."
"Nice to meet you, Sarah-"
"PROFESSOR! Sarah."
'Uh right…sorry Professor Sarah."
…..
"Uh, are you going to shake my hand or not?!' Sarah questioned
"Oh right."
I reached my own hand out and grabbed hers. It seems that my action was the right one as she seemed to be pleased.
Sarah's Perspective
I looked up at the man standing in front of me. He seemed very confused at our actions. I let go of his hand.
"Now then, What's your name?"
The man's facial expression changed from a confused to a worried one. He began to scratch his brown hair. His hair was an enigma, for me at least. The back of his hair was spiky, with the short individual hairs curving slightly upwards at the end. The man also had gigantic bangs on the right side of his face that could cover the right side of his face, about up to his nostrils at least. The interesting part about his bangs though were that they were floating, and pointing forward so he could still see with his right eye. What caught my attention the most about his hair was the braid he had on his left side. The braid was tied with a red knot throughout a small group of hairs and reached to his bottom lip.
It was at this time when I decided to inspect him further as well. Surprisingly, he was extremely built. I mean he was a really built as hell. While he definitely wasn't as buff like a bodybuilder, I can't deny that he was still somehow more built than most of our Chevaliers. The dude was extremely close to being a Jojo from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure! Hell, his height only helped back up my statement. I get that I'm not a tall person, to begin with, after all, I'm only 5'3", but this guy towered over me! By my estimations, he should be about 6'5". So, yeah I guess you can just say he's a JoJo.
His clothes though were pretty strange. They weren't casual clothes at all. His shirt looked like a bunch of light brown pieces of cloth poorly sewn together. His pants were extremely ripped jeans, and for some reason, he had a brown cloak or cape. It does not look like something a normal human would wear. Also, he smells. The guy wasn't oozing of body odor, but he still smelled terrible. I've managed to keep quiet about the smell, but I really wanted him to go take a shower badly.
It wasn't until the guy spoke up that I was brought back to reality.
"Sorry Professor Sarah, but I can't remember my name."
"What, how can't you remember your name?"
"Well….you see Professor Sarah.."
It was here that the man told me how he has no recollection of his memories. All he remembers is when he woke up, and everything else afterward. So basically he was suffering from amnesia. Damn, I guess that Honkai attack was really bad huh?
"Well, we can't go on without knowing your name right?" I asked him.
"Yeah, you are right. So what do we do then?"
I smiled. This was a pretty easy problem to solve, or at least I thought initially.
"Easy, I'll give you a name."
The man turned his head to look at me in the eyes.
"Really? You would do such a thing?"
"Obviously, I'm not going to introduce you as "This guy" every time."
The guy thought about it for a while. Finally, the guy gave me the green light.
"Alright, think of a name for me."
I smirked, but the smirk soon disappeared. This was when I realized how hard naming someone was. Naming someone is crucial, it is basically their identity, so you will need a name that sticks with someone. Now I was in a dilemma because what the hell am I going to name him? Should I go with a generic name like Bob, Billy, David?. Holy shit is this what parents have to go through when they have a child? If so, I should start preparing a list of names for my child…if I even have any.
The man decided to go back to reading his book while I was still trying to figure out what to name him. The man only read his book until a quarter of the way through before he closed it, and went to the bookshelf. He put the book back before he mentioned,
"Oh yeah, do you have any idea why this bookshelf has a buzzer?"
I turned my head immediately. The guy grabbed a random book off the shelf. It was here when I noticed the spot where the book was. The empty spot had an encrypted sign on the tiny wall that separated the books from other books so that the books wouldn't crowd one another. He began the process of placing the book back when I immediately ran to him.
"Wait! Don't put the book in that-"
It was too late. He put the book back in, and the buzzer began ringing. I had tackled him to the ground to prevent it from happening but I was too late. However, to my luck, nothing else happened other than the loud buzzer ringing. I let out a gigantic sigh of relief, but I think this only garnered more confusion from the man.
"Why are you so relieved?"
"Uh…Uh…I, uh….." I struggled with my words. What was I supposed to say?
"Uh...It was because the bookshelf…didn't fall apart?" I said with extremely low confidence. I looked up at the man. His face showed some skepticism to my statement. I pushed myself off of him. He got himself back up. I begged to him,
"Please don't try that again." As expected he faced that statement with skepticism, but by surprise, he just shrugged it off. The guy went back to searching the bookshelves for other interesting reads. It was here when he pulled out a baby blue book.
"Tendou." The guy said.
He looks at me and asks "What does Tendou mean?". I decide to pull out my phone and searched up the word "Tendou" to find its meaning. Sadly all I got were pictures of some random red-haired volleyball player and some guy in a beetle armor suit. I changed my search to look for the meaning of "Tendou". It turns out that "Tendou" means "Path to Heaven" or anything similar to Path and Heaven. "It means Path to Heaven." I tell the man. The man nods, "Path to Heaven…." He repeats to himself. I look back at my phone and looking at the meaning of "Tendou".
"Path to Heaven huh?" I whispered to myself.
I opened another tab on my browser. This time I searched up "Good boy names". The search engine gave me a bunch of websites that listed many names, yet none of them felt like they would work for the guy.
"Hey Professor Sarah, have you read this book yet?" I turned to face the man who was holding a copy of "Tendou". Truth be told I have actually read the book. "Tendou" is actually a character drama book, analyzing the life of an outcast and how he views the world around him. The book was actually kind of depressing since the main character was neglected by everyone, even his "friends". The character was never bullied interestingly enough, just neglected. They saw all the drama between his friends and didn't really have any say in them since he was an outcast. The ending was depressing as the character takes his own life away, believing that it will release him from his hell. Now that I think about it, the title "Tendou" makes a little sense now even if in a morbid sense.
"Are you really that desperate in searching for a name?" The man asked directly next to my ear.
"Gah! What the fuck?! You scared the everliving shit out of me!" The man backed away a little bit.
"Ok, I'm sorry." He apologized.
The man saw that my phone was still on the name website. I backed out of the website and went to another to search for more names. I tried focusing on the list displayed at my phone, however, the man began to talk about "Tendou"
"It's very interesting how this book is written. Reading the story through the eyes of someone within the story, that's so unique!" He continued to geek out for about a minute before I stepped in.
"Ok Tendou, I get it the book is interesting, but can you let me focus?"
The man stopped talking before he replied with,
"Yeah, I stop talking now."
Huh, weird. I thought it would take me more attempts to shut Tendou up. Usually, when I work with others it would take me multiple attempts to-…..wait, did just call him Tendou? I begin blinking and slapping myself a little. Yeah, I just called him Tendou. I unintentionally gave him a name. I looked up at Tendou, who was reading "Tendou". He seemed to be immersed in the book.
"Tendou" I whispered to myself. I don't know why, but it rolled off the tongue for me. Finally, I think I have a name for him.
"That's it!" I yell out loud while standing up. Tendou shook in place before falling on his ass and staring up on me.
"Holy crap-, warn me before you do something loud Sarah-"
"PROFESSOR! Sarah." I corrected him.
"Yeah, yeah I get it, Professor Sarah. So why did you just jump up?"
I looked down at him and gave a smirk.
"Your name, I figured it out."
"Oh, you did?!" Tendou asked
I bent down a little. I reached out my hand to motion for a handshake like earlier. This time, I not only introduced myself but gave him his name.
"Hello Tendou, My name is Professor Sarah. Nice to meet you."
After I stated my second introduction with his name I could see his eyes widen. I could see his iris widen as if he had just seen a cluster of beautiful set off in the sky. His eyes blinked a couple of times, I could tell that he was trying to take this moment in. Finally, Tendou smiled for the first time since I saw him. He reached out his hand to shake it, and finished our proper introductions.
"Nice to meet you too Professor Sarah"
Alright, the first chapter is done.
I'm going to use this section to explain a few things that people might ask.
Yes, this future story will be mostly filled with OCs. It takes place in the far future so obviously it will need a new cast. That being said some original characters like Otto Apocalypse will appear. What allows for the HI3 Characters to appear is if they have any known way to achieve some sort of immortality. I will make some nods to the cast of HI3 once in a while, but this story will be mostly OCs so if that is a problem with you, then don't read the story.
As seen in this chapter, this story will be written in First Person Point of View. The reason for this is due to me feeling a bit more comfortable writing like this, and due to me having a plan for this story about perspectives. I will try to write in Third Person Point of View once in a while.
I also want to say that uploads for this story will be inconsistent as I am a busy person, or was at least. I'm still in high school, and I am a track athlete so I do have things that I am required to do, though, with the current pandemic outbreak, school, and practice has been canceled temporarily. I still have to keep in shape for track, however, and I have already been notified that I still have some assignments to do online for school.
Speaking of which, I hope you guys stay safe. The pandemic outbreak has caused some serious mayhem around the world, and while the virus doesn't seem as deadly as the media portrays it to be, I still hope you guys will never be infected. Being healthy and fine is better than being sick. Stay safe out there!
