Darla was ready to start third grade. She couldn't wait to see all of her friends. Especially Montana Max and Tanya. Monty was a rich boy who was Darla's boyfriend. He was a bully and only nice to Darla. Tanya was Darla's first best friend. Tanya was secretly a mummy named Tanis, but went by Tanya in public.
"Ready for school, girls?" Shirley asked her daughters. They nodded. Mary would be a sophomore, Muffet would be in eighth grade, and Darla would be in third. After the high school and middle school bus picked up her older sisters, Darla's bus was about to arrive.
"Bye Lily, Stevie, and Lola! Bye mama!" Darla waved.
"Bye!" They waved back. On the bus Darla saw her friends Malachi and Lulu. Darla sat next to Lulu, and Malachi sat behind them.
"Hi guys!" Darla waved.
"Hi Darla. I bet you want to see Monty, don't you?" Lulu teased. Darla's face turned pink.
"Maybe...ANYWAYS Malachi, are you excited?"
"Kind of. You know I'm always nervous when school starts." Malachi answered.
In class...
Darla, Lulu, and Malachi all walked together into their classroom. Darla saw her other friends Tanya, Bubbles, Robyn, and Monty. They all sat next to each other.
"Hi Monty Wonty!" Darla gushed. Lulu and Tanya rolled their eyes.
"Hello Darla." Monty said. He loved Darla, but he was very selfish.
"Alright class, today we have a new student!" The teacher announced. Monty rolled his eyes.
"This was your older sister's teacher, right?" Darla asked Lulu.
"Yeah. Angela said she was a pain." Lulu replied. Darla hoped she wasn't going to get yelled at, but now she was excited about meeting the new student.
