(A/N) Believe it or not I've been trying to work on this for a few days. Havingworked my butt off, reviews/follows will always be appreciated! I changed my mind over and over with how to start this, and just decided to take a breather. I'm not the most satisfied with this first chapter, so you guys get not only one, but two chapters to hold onto while waiting for farther updates soon to come ^-^
Junior Year…
"You're going to catch a cold Jade! Jesus," Tori whined after the scissor obsessed grump. It was pouring and all Tori wanted was to get Jade out of the rain, but the girl was too busy trying to get away from her. Their school day had just ended, Tori managing to track down the girl right after her last period but she ignored Tori's presence. Jade also rejected Beck's offer to take her home, instead rather wanting to walk home in the rain than be in the same space as Beck.
"I said leave me alone Tori!"
"Where have you been?" Tori asked concerned finally managing to catch up to her, holding an umbrella over the both of them. She had to keep up with Jade's fast pace. "Slow down you know you have longer legs than me."
"Go home."
"Jade, just-" Tori stumbled trying to grab Jade's hand and almost fell over, Jade not sparing her a glance. "You've been ignoring my messages for days, I was worried."
Jade kept straight, not losing her stride once nor looking back when Tori almost fell. That's because she didn't. She didn't fall. If she did, Jade would've been at her side in a heartbeat. "I'm aware."
Suddenly Jade's arm was yanked and she was spun around before she could realize what was happening. Looking at Jade, Tori searched for any emotion, but Jade's walls were up like they were when they first met. "What's wrong?" Tori asked again. She was tired of Jade's severe mood swings. Over the years at Hollywood Arts, the girls have grown closer. Some may even say inseparable at times. Jade no longer yelled at Tori when she hugged her. Nor did she mock her in her false Tori voice. She didn't gag in repulsion when Tori kisses her cheek or threaten her when Tori calls her Jadelyn. One minute Jade's practically all things Tori, then the next she's walking out into the rain just to avoid the girl.
"Is it true?" Jade barked. If Tori really wanted to talk now while she was in this mood, that was fine with her.
"Is what true?" Tori was nothing but confused. She watched how the drops of water dripped from Jade's face, how her hair clung to her clothes.
"Did Danny go over to your house last night." Jade asked bluntly.
Tori stuttered. "H-How did you-"
"Trina."
What was Jade doing talking to Trina of all people? Jade Hated her. Well..she hated everyone, but Trina especially. "What were you talking to Trina for?"
"Is that really the point right now? You're ridiculous," Jade said spinning around to walk away again. Tori immediately followed, holding the umbrella up again so she wouldn't get more soaked than she already was though it probably didn't make a difference by that point.
"Are you spying on me?" Tori asked, a bewildered expression decorating her facial features. It happened before, but not with her friends. Her aunt frequently used Trina to keep an eye on her, everyone knowing Trina wouldn't pass up any opportunity to rat out her sister. Tori didn't get it. She was a good girl, what was her aunt trying to find out?
"Are you toying with me Vega?" Jade countered back, suddenly spinning on Tori so fast that Tori almost tripped again. Jade's eyes settled onto her. "Are you getting back together with him?"
Tori finally managed to piece together the situation, naturally being slow and oblivious to things around her. Jealousy. She got quiet for a moment, the pair standing in silence until Tori looked back at Jade, her expression hardened. "You're about to get sick and you're upset over a boy I broke up with forever ago?!" The raise in Tori's voice caught Jade's attention. She was seeing a new side of the singer. Sure they bickered before but it never caused Tori to snap like this.
However, Jade didn't think before she spoke. "What else am I supposed to think when there's a horny guy at your house at 2 in the morning?!" Jade yelled watching Tori storming away. The Latina spun almost immediately.
"You're an idiot did you know that?" Tori blurted, her own common sense pelting away the more her clothes dampened from the rain. "I've been in love with you for two years! Despite the countless and stupid fights with Beck you dragged me into. Despite the harassment and attempted murder attempts you put me through. And all you can do is throw tantrums whenever I get a little attention?! I've been worried something bad might've happened to you all week!" Tori yelled thinking back to all the times Jade made a big deal out of Tori associating with anyone that wasn't included in their friend group. Tori had overlooked it before, thinking it was Jade just wanting to find any excuse to bicker with her, but it wasn't until now that she finally understood. Jade had grown silent throughout the outburst, watching her. Tori was walking away again. "Daniel came over for Trina."
Tori knew how much time must've passed when she could see her house from where she was. She couldn't wait to wash her problems away with a hot shower. Who does she think she is? Tori thought approaching the steps of her front porch. You've fallen for a psychopath Tori Vega. And confessed to her.. "God what was I thinking?"Tori groaned out loud to herself. She unlocked her front door turning the handle when she was suddenly pulled back and spun around. Tori was alert and ready to scream if she needed to but her self-defense mode started to deteriorate when her eyes landed on an slightly out of breath Jade Elizabeth West. Taking in the goth's state, Tori concluded she must've sprinted. "What are you do-" Jade firmly grabbed Tori's face, her lips pressed against hers before Tori could blink, stopping what ever sentence she was about to finish. Tori hesitated, her hands only coming up to tug on Jade's jacket when she was confident this was a dream and that there'd be no harm in enjoying it while it lasts before she woke up to face reality.
The kiss ended almost as quickly as it had started, Jade suddenly pulling away, a strong sudden sneeze almost knocking herself over. Jade for once in her whole life looked momentarily embarrassed. She knew she'd be in bed sick by the next morning.
"I told you so.."
"Shut up, Vega"
