Notes: Liondon is DM's version of London
All locations in this oneshot are fictional except for Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace.
All bold text apart from the notes and the announcement at the botttom is the narrator speaking.
"She is such a pain in the neck..." mumbled Danger Mouse as he collapsed on the sofa in the HQ at Liondon. He'd had a very tiring day, and he'd met someone. Who he hated. Despite the fact that he'd only just met her.
Penfold, his trusty sidekick, was aware of his boss's emotions (mainly because he couldn't hide them very well) and made him a quick snack and a drink.
"Here you go, Chief: a nice, warm cup of tea and some digestive biscuits. These should cheer you up in no time." the hamster announced as he put the little dish on the table by the TV. His rodent friend just groaned and closed his eyes, letting his head fall back as he painfully remembered the events of that day.
"Chief, wakey wakey!" whispered Penfold as he gently shook his friend awake. Danger Mouse slowly got up, rubbing his eyes, waiting for them to adjust to the light coming from the lampshade next to him. He stretched his arms, giving out a big yawn, then he asked tiredly "Penfold, what is it with you today? Normally I'm the one to wake you up." "Sorry chief, but Colonel K wants you in his office in 5 minutes."
That seemed to wake up the mouse properly. He bolted out of his bed, got his clothes and hurried to the bathroom to get dressed. He hopped out 30 seconds later, still putting one of his shoes on. He then quickly grabbed a slice of bread, a knife and a pot of jam, which he spread onto the starchy slice as he was running. When he was done, he tossed the knife and jam aside, quickly eating his small breakfast, then wiped his mouth clean and dashed out of the door.
He leapt into the Danger Car, Penfold following closely behind. They both put on their seatbelts, then Danger Mouse slammed his feet on the accelerator and the cheese-shaped automobile zoomed out of the postbox. Penfold activated the wings of the car, and it took off, soaring by the numerous buildings. Danger Mouse made it to the Colonel's office in record time.
The beaver smiled at the two spies, pleased that they were punctual. He said "Now, I have called you here because today, we are going to have somebody from a completely different whatdyamacallit helping you with your thingamajigs." The agents looked at each other in utter confusion. Then Professor Squawkencluck chimed in, saying "He means that someone from a different universe is going to help you with your missions."
Danger Mouse was relieved that he wasn't going to be stuck with Jeopardy Mouse. They'd recently had an argument, and it didn't end well.
Colonel K continued, saying "This helper is a Spanish teenage girl who can fly stuff. She goes around the world with other friends to stop a guy with a moustache from wrecking everything."
Anyone guessed who it is yet?
Now that sounds just weird, thought Danger Mouse. And a teenager? Honestly? Help me, a fully grown adult, with a proper job, and a sidekick who can be annoying at times, but overall is a great friend?
Penfold, however, thought differently of the situation.
That's nice. Giving a teenager a chance to become a secret agent. And especially with Danger Mouse! Well, it might not go so well after all, ever since the accident with the plushies rebelling.
Colonel K interrupted their thoughts, declaring "The new person will arrive in a few minutes." "Yay, best day of my life!" mumbled Danger Mouse. Not, he thought.
Suddenly, the Danger Car smashed through the wall of the beaver's office, screen bleeping. The professor blushed in embarrassment.
"Sorry." she whispered. "I think I might have to tinker a little with the autopilot."
Danger Mouse didn't say anything about that. He just ran over to the screen and pressed it. Baron Silas Von Greenback, Stiletto and Nero greeted the rodent when he did.
"You are too late, Danger Mouse!" yelled the frog. "Soon, all ze cars vill start running amock and destroy anyvone in zeir pass! I vill control zem vis my new machine Crumhorn made me under Trafalgar Scvare! MWAHAHAHAHAAA!"
"Thanks for telling me your plan, Baron."
"Vait, VAT?!" The signal got cut off.
"Come on, Penfold. We've got a controller to stop!" ordered Danger Mouse. They both got into the Danger Car and backed out of the tremendously big hole in the Colonel's office wall.
A few minutes later, Danger Mouse had set his eyes on Trafalgar Square. He was just about to find a way into the secret lair below, when...
"Hold up, Danger Mouse!" yelled Crumhorn.
From the Danger Car, Penfold could see a huge army of Safety Mice. I thought we got rid of them a while ago, thought Penfold. He must have rebuilt them somehow.
The Safety Mice charged at the Danger Car and one of them grabbed its wings. It pulled the automobile down and ripped it in two, making our heroes fall out and onto the ground. The Safety Mice were closing in, and Crumhorn could be heard cackling through the speakers in the robots' eyes. Penfold whimpered "I-I think this w-will be the e-end of us, Ch-Chief." "I hope not, Penfold. I hope not..." whispered the mouse as the Safety Mice lunged their mechanical hands out to the helpless spies, about to grab them and most probably, er, beat them to death.
Suddenly a closed claw dropped down from the sky, knocking all the Safety Mice miles away, before grabbing our heroes and flying them to safety.
Hang on a minute. Why did you call Danger Mouse and Penfold "our heroes" when it's obvious that- oh right, the surprise. Never mind, carry on.
Danger Mouse and Penfold watched the Safety Mice get smaller and smaller as they were lifted higher and higher. Soon, they were higher up than Buckingham Palace was tall. The hamster was a little dodgy with extreme heights like this when he wasn't in some kind of aircraft, so he shouted to the mysterious pilot "Uh, excuse me?" "Yes?" was the reply. It sounded young. And Spanish. This must be that helper Colonel K was telling us about! mused Penfold.
He then yelled to the teenager "Would you mind lowering us down a bit? I think you've gone high enough now." "We need to get clear of those robo-mice, and what better way is there to go than up? They'll never catch us up here." shouted the helper. "If you like, I can retract the claw so you can sit here with me." "No. We don't need to. We're fine here-" Danger Mouse started, but Penfold butted in, saying "Yes, please!" The pilot complied, and the claw slowly started retracting.
The agent and his sidekick grabbed onto the coil holding the grabber, before the claw let go of them. Danger Mouse held onto the left side of the aircraft with one hand, Penfold in the other. The mouse asked "Uh, would you mind helping us up?" In reply, the pilot made the mini plane lurch to its right side, making Danger Mouse and his trusty sidekick topple in. The teen quickly made it resume its normal position.
"Hey, what was that for, uh..." Danger Mouse shouted, realizing he didn't know this teenager's name. She turned her head and flipped her purple and yellow hood down to reveal white hair with purple dyed parts to it.
"The name's Xuli." she replied. I think this guy's a little tempermental. Better watch out for him.
And so, our new heroine Xuli takes Danger Mouse and his trusty sidekick Penfold to wherever she's going to take them to do whatever! But things don't look too good for the public of Liondon, because if the new team doesn't work together properly, then it will spell certain doom for all cars in the world! In our next episode, we shall see-
"Shut up, narrating person, I'm tryna concentrate flying the- wait a second, did you say episod-"
Xuli got cut off as the credits suddenly came on.
A little crossover to kickstart this collection! So, do you think things will go well between them? I think you already know the basic concept of what's going to happen, so I don't even know why I'm writing this. Never mind, I'll just get back to what I was doing before. Ta ta, readers! See you in the next chapter!
