Walking into Haywood I held my head high. There were fist bumps and high fives passed around. After three long days we finally got our man Jackson Douglas. He was arrested on multiple counts of rape, assault, and domestic abuse as well as drugs. He was a pimp working off Stark Street. The Feds asked for our help when they suspected human trafficking. I brought up two of my Miami men since all of mine in Trenton were comprised. They went above and beyond, quickly locating Douglas and his main operations.
We waited till after midnight then crept in using the cover of darkness to sneak past his guards. Over and done in less than three minutes. Yeah we are that good. Everyone was feeling high. "Man did you see that shit. We caught him with his pants around his ankles. He couldn't believe we busted in. Broke his nose trying to run from Tank" Lester laughs. "Yeah well I would do whatever I could to run from Tank too." Bobby smirks.
"I would like to say something." I announce, immediately calming the room. "Men you did great tonight. We worked together as a team and no one got hurt. I know this has been a long week, and an even longer night. So I have brought in some backup to cover the office while we all take an overdue trip to our beach safehouse for the weekend and for some much needed R&R. We leave at 0800 tomorrow morning." I nod. Cheers fill the air.
Looking over I see Hector staring at his phone. His face shows concern and my attention immediately goes to him. He grabs Lester and they speak quickly in hushed voices. I watch Lester pull out his phone and his face goes white. Hector rushes to the computer's, knocking Ram out of his chair. "Hector, Report!" I shout, causing the room to go quiet again.
Hector is quiet and his face is filled with something I have never seen before. "I'm sorry Boss, I have to go. Bobby I need you." he says while rushing to the door Lester following close behind him. I glance at the screen and see an inside view of someone's home. There is furniture and debris scattered all over the room upside down, but what catches my attention most is the brief view of feet. They are small, and it's obvious that they belong to a female, but they aren't moving. I run fast behind them and Tank follows. We make it to the garage just as they are pulling out. I jump in the Turbo, Tank next to me and we haul ass to follow them.
"Man what the fuck is going on?" Tank demands. "I don't know, but whatever it is, it's bad. I have never seen Hector scared. I just know we have to help, in whatever way we can." I say as we follow them through the busy streets. Hector was zig zagging in and out of traffic barely avoiding a few cars on the way. I call his phone, "Dude, if you don't calm down you won't make it to wherever the fuck we are going" I bark into the phone. "Yes sir" he responds as he disconnects.
We pull into a suburb and Hector finally slows down. After one street he turns left then whips into a driveway and all three men rush out, leaving the car running. The front door was open and the men rushed in. "Jessica." Hector yells as he enters. The room has been torn to shreds. I stop him and pull my weapon. He nods and all of us sweep the house. It's small, three bedrooms all on one story. We check each room and I realize that children live here. From the looks of it there is one girl and two boys. Judging by the furniture they are older, maybe teenagers. Luckily their bedrooms are intact. As I sweep through the living room I see Hector and Bobby kneeled down next to a woman. She is unconcious, bloody, and not moving. I continue on following Lester. As we enter the third bedroom we all stop. The room is a mess, furniture is torn apart, and written on the wall in what I can assume is blood is the word whore.
We make our way back into the living room and I stop in my tracks. The woman is gorgeous. Long dark hair spread from under her head like a halo. Her beauty is marked by the bruises and cuts to her face and chest. "Jess, baby please wake up." Lester pleads as he lifts her hand into his. A soft moan escapes her lips. "She's alive. We have to move her." Hector says. "STOP" Bobby shouts. "We don't know the extent of her injuries yet. If you move her it could hurt her worse. The ambulance is on the way." he says as he grabs Hector's arm. "Hector, please listen to him." I say. He pulls her other hand into his, "She's fading fast. We don't have time to wait." he quietly pleads. "Bobby, can we move her or not." I say. Hector is right, we are wasting time. Bobby lifts her head and feels for blood. Coming up empty and begrudgingly nods, "Lets go, now!" he orders. Hector scoops her up and rushes her out the door.
"Lester, does she have children? Should one of us wait for them?" I ask. "Yeah, but they are with their dad for the summer. " he answers. I nod and we rush out to the car. I pull the door closed behind me and see Hector climbing into the back seat holding her in his arms with Bobby next to him. Tank is behind the wheel and Lester jumps in next to him. "Take her to St. Matthews. It's closer. I'll call ahead." I say as I make my way back to the Turbo. I don't know who this girl is, but I suddenly feel a rush of protection for her and anger for whoever did this to her. I will find him and I will kill him for this.
