Somewhere out in the Pacific, there's a city. Why someone would build a city out in the middle of the ocean is anyone's guess. But, we got a pretty good thing going here in Tide-opolis. I mean we are only the fifth most crime ridden city. Forth? Or was it third?
Anyways, if look past the crime, and the frequent storms we get due to our location, you'll see that we have the best food in the Pacific. Well, the only good in the Pacific, but you get the idea. Oh, and there is one more thing to look forward to in Tide-opolis.
"Everybody on the ground, now!" A guy wearing a George Washington costume yelled as he pulled out a machine gun. "This is a robbery."
Everyone in the bank then obeyed Washington's orders as three more thugs dressed as Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln started wondering around with guns in hand.
"Now, don't any of you trigger the silent alarm or else I'll put nine rounds in your chest!" Abraham Lincoln warned the bank tellers.
Jefferson and Roosevelt then went over to the bank tellers to get the money while Lincoln and Washington guarded the hostages.
In case you were wondering, these guys call themselves the "Rushmore Gang". You know, like the mountain with the faces on it. Also, did you wonder why earlier, I didn't know which place this city was in the most crime race? Well, that's because I haven't really kept track of how much crime we had ever since I started crime fighting. Yeah, that's right, I'm a vigilante, but not just any vigilante.
The glass ceiling then shattered as Damien Redips dropped inside the bank while wearing his red and black "Spider-Man" suit.
"Hey everyone." Damien said as he landed in a ninja pose.
The Rushmore Gang then turned and pointed their guns at him.
"Wait, I know you guys!" He then shot webs from his hands to take their guns and stick them to the walls.
The gang then decided to charge at Damien with their fists as I swung a kick at Washington's face. "I really hope those wood teeth are working out for you."
He then felt a tingle in his head that warned me about Lincoln's punch from behind. Damien then dodged the punch as he then grabbed and threw Lincoln at Jefferson. "Lincoln, really love that you freed the slaves. And Jefferson, well done with the Declaration."
Theodore Roosevelt then pulled out a crowbar and tried to hit Damien with it. "A crowbar, Teddy? What happened to your stick?"
He then grabbed the crowbar and hit Teddy in the face with it, knocking him out.
"Do you always have to taunt the crooks while you're fighting them?" A girl said through my earpiece.
"It's not taunting!" I argued. "It's quipping! Total difference!"
"Can you just focus on taking these guys out and saving these innocent people."
"Fine, party-pooper!"
That was my cousin, Abby. She's sort of my Oracle. Only, she's not in a wheelchair and she's the one who has to be serious when I'm not. She means well, but she can be sort of a killjoy.
Damien then webbed Roosevelt to the ground as the others then charged at me again. He then jumped over them and stuck to the wall behind them as he shot a web at their feet and pulled to make them trip and fall face first.
The police then arrived a little later as they freed the Rushmore Gang from my webs, put them in handcuffs, and threw them into the back of a police van.
"Another job well done by the Spider-Man!"
"Alright, hero. But, you might wanna get back here as soon as you can. It's almost dinner and Mom is starting to worry about you."
"Alright, I'm on my way. Just tell Aunt Shelby that I got stuck in traffic."
"Ok, Damien. Just be careful."
Damien then jumped off the top of the bank as I shot out another web and started swinging over to his Aunt's house. his
I've been living with my Aunt and Abby ever since my parents died in a fire when I was 6. There used to be Uncle Kyle, but he got shot by a car thief not long after I got my powers.
Two months I've been Spider-Man, and so far, nothing has changed. Criminals break the law, I swing in, I stop them, and I swing away. Don't get me wrong, I love doing what I do, it's just...I sometimes wish crime fighting could be a little more interesting. Like, maybe I could have my own supervillain like every other superhero, and I won't get stuck with all the boring thugs. But I doubt anything like that will happen.
Meanwhile...
A middle-aged Caucasian man in lab coat sat at his desk watching the news from his laptop. He watched as Spider-Man took out the Rushmore Gang without any difficulties. The way he kicked, punched, and jumped was very intriguing to the man. This Spider-Man could do things that a normal man couldn't do.
His thoughts were then interrupted by a knock on his office door. He then closed his laptop and said, "Come in." An African-American man in a lab coat then came in holding files in his hand.
"Ah. Evan. How are we on the test subjects?"
"Well Dr. Richardson I...I think it's better if you look."
Evan then handed Dr. Richardson the files as he looked through them. According to what he read, all the subjects that had come into contact with his new serum experienced signs of aggression, bloodlust, and insanity.
"We almost lost five of our top scientists trying to detain them. Three of them didn't come back in one piece." Evan explained.
"I see. And what of the spiders?"
"The tests have been...successful so far. But we have yet to tell if they're ready for the serum."
"I'll decide whether or not they're ready. Take my serum to the chemists and see what they can do. Until then, keep experimenting on the spiders."
"Yes, sir."
Evan then took the files and was about to leave until he heard Dr. Richardson groan when he felt a cramping pain in his arm.
"You alright, sir?"
"I'm fine. Leave me!"
Evan then left as Dr. Richardson pulled up his sleeve to see that his arm was turning green. He then opened a drawer in his desk and pulled out a syringe. He then injected the syringe into his arm as it started turning into it's normal color again.
Dr. Richardson then breathed a sigh of relief as he said, "Not today."
