Short piece here for you all. A drabble if you will.

It was a breezy yet rainy in Planeptune's forest. It wasn't Virtua Forest, this was a small forest that was on the outskirts.
Neptune walked slowly through the forest's opening and smiled to herself. "It's been awhile." She said slowly.
Neptune slowly came to a stop in front of a large oak tree. "Hello..." She was rather quiet with her words, as to not disturb the peace of the area. "... My old friend."
Hidden behind the tree was a family of foxes who saw Neptune approach. One of the foxes, a human-fox hybrid, stepped out of the shadows of the tree. She had soft light cream fur, brown shorts, a ruby colored robe and black gloves. She wore a white shirt with a vest over the top of it. She also had brown boots that reached half-way up her shin with a white circle around the tops of the boots. She also had two rather fluffy tails. Almost... Almost Kitsune in a way, but not quite.
Neptune saw the hybrid and smiled. "Hello. What's your name?" She asked.
The hybrid blinked, then looked directly at Neptune. The hybrid had Golden eyes. "My name is Maxine... But I prefer Max."
Neptune nodded her head and slowly sat down next to the tree. "So, Max. Tell me-" She started as Maxine walked to nearby Neptune and nodded. "How long have you guys been there?"
Maxine looked to her brethren, then to Neptune. "I'd say..." She looked to the sky for a moment, thinking.
"A while?"
"Something like that, yes."
Neptune had a soft smile on her face now. Her facial expression reminded Maxine of a mother looking at a warming sight. "So, what's your name?"
"I'm Neptune. Patron Goddess of this nation we call Planeptune."
Maxine knelt down in front of a spot next to Neptune and cleared the leaves out of the way. Slowly lowering her other knee, she stayed in that position next to Neptune. The pair chatted for a short while.
Neptune looked to her N-Gear. Shaking her head slightly. "I'm sorry Max. I have to go."
Maxine nodded. "It's no problem. How long will you be gone for?"
Neptune scratched the back of her head but then chuckled. "Probably awhile. See, I gotta work..." She mumbled. "Stupid Histy..."
Maxine gave Neptune a questioning look. "Histy?"
Neptune shook her head and smiled. "Don't worry about it, don't worry."
Neptune slowly stood up and brushed herself down. Maxine slowly stood up as well, lowering the hood of her robe to reveal two fox ears that were quite fluffy.
"I'll be seeing you around, Max." Neptune winked and turned - About to head off.
"Wait." Maxine requested. "I have something to give you..."
Neptune blinked and turned to her. "For me?"
Maxine reached into her right pocket of her shorts and pulled out a small gem. "This is something for you to remember us by. You know, in case we never see you again?" She offered it to Neptune.
Neptune slowly took the gem from Maxine's gloved hand and smiled. "Thank you Max. I'll treasure this, for sure!"
Maxine smiled warmly. "I'm glad. Take care."
Neptune nodded. "Right back at you Max! Take care!"
The CPU of Planeptune went back towards the city as Maxine turned to a bush that rustled a bit. "You can come out now." Maxine whispered to the bush.
A taller yet younger-looking version of Neptune stepped out from the bush. She had sailor uniform on. "I'm sorry. I just need to keep an eye on her... Especially since we may have a virus soon..."
Maxine nodded. "I can tell. Well, good luck. To both of you."
The taller Nep nodded her head and headed in the same direction the previous one went in. Nepgear waved to Maxine who waved back.
Some say that Maxine and her family are still by that same tree... Waiting for the day Neptune or Nepgear would return to see them.
