Gloria was sleeping on her warm, cozy bed when a little Wooloo cried out from outside.
Gloria's eyes bursted wide open. She groggily checked her phone to see what the time was.
5:00 AM.
Gloria thought in annoyance as she got on her slippers, That silly Wooloo...
Gloria was about to exit her room when she found herself looking in the mirror that was the same size as her.
She was currently wearing a pale blue nightgown with lace trim on the sleeves.
I look more like a princess than a skilled Pokemon trainer... Gloria murmured to herself in mild displeasure.
Gloria had just beaten Leon, the former Galar region champion, with her trusty team of Pokemon.
Now that Gloria was the new champion, she has been embracing it, but in a rather humble manner.
Out of pure joy, Gloria started spinning around in circles. However, she lost her balance and was about to fall! Luckily, Hop grabbed her by the wrist just in time!
Hop said in concern,"You need to be more careful Gloria..."
Gloria chuckled in embarrassment. "Sorry. So what's brings you here?"
Hop eyes' bulged a bit. "You didn't hear? Misty of the Kanto region and Iris of the Unova region is paying Galar a visit!"
Gloria gasped. She totally forgot!
Suddenly, there was a knock on Gloria's front door. Hop exclaimed happily as he ran towards it,"I got it!"
Gloria gave off a puzzling look. She thought, I guess becoming the champion has its ups and downs. I mean, my house is literally screaming paparazzi to show up...
Once Hop opened the door, he swore he felt his jaw drop.
Sonia, Leon, Marnie, Piers, Team Yell, and Bede were together in one big group!
Leon gave off a lighthearted chuckle and said to his little brother,"Don't worry, it's just us."
Hop stuttered,"I-I... know that. It's just..."
Marnie smiled slightly. "That you find it pretty weird that we're all together like this? I don't blame you."
Leon proclaimed proudly as Gloria walked into the foyer,"There's our new champion!"
Gloria blushed from all the attention she was receiving. However, she froze at the sight of Bede with a look of remorse.
Bede noticed this and immediately said in the most poised fashion he could muster,"I was forced to come here... by Opal."
Team Yell laughed at this. One of the team's grunts pointed a finger at Bede and shouted,"Liar! We saw you wrapping an apology gift for Gloria on the way over here!"
Bede's blushed ever so slightly.
Sonia giggled before directing her attention back to Hop and Gloria,"So you almost ready to kick it?"
Gloria replied with a bright smile,"Yeah! Let me just get changed! Make yourselves at home everyone!"
Team Yell was the first enter Gloria's home, much to Pier's dismay.
Sonia was happily chatting with Leon and Hop when she saw Gloria in a simple yellow dress. She said with an approving smile,"Looking great as always Gloria!"
Gloria blushed once again. As she walked alongside her friends, she asked Leon,"Are we heading towards the Wedgehurst train station?"
Leon nodded. "Yeah. As Galar's new champion, it's your duty to welcome honored guests."
Gloria put on a nervous smile. "Oh, gosh... you mean I have to welcome everybody?"
Leon and Piers laughed. Marnie wrapped one arm around Gloria and told her,"I have to admit that was a pretty cute response."
Bede smirked and thought, feeling rather impressed, For a champion, she sure is pure-hearted...
Bede's smile faded when he noticed two suspicious-looking characters up ahead.
Hop turned his head, only to shout in disbelief,"You!"
Sordward and Shielbert were flirting with Misty and Iris. The two men immediately looked straight at Gloria and her friends then exclaimed in disgust,"You!"
Hop took a step forward and said angrily,"Give back the sword and shield you stole!"
Misty and Iris just stared at Hop then at Sorward and Shielbert.
Sorward snorted,"Why should we give our valuable treasures away to a pathetic excuse for a trainer like you?"
Hop froze. Everyone, including Bede glared at the two "royal" brothers.
Shieldbert then said as he stroked some of his hair to the side,"It's our destiny to see what the power of Zacian and Zamazenta can do..." He soon glared immensely at Gloria and her friends. "And YOU'RE trying to ruin everything!"
By this time, Misty and Iris were standing alongside Gloria.
Iris asked Gloria with a look of mischief,"Why don't we have a Pokémon battle to teach these jerks not to mess with the new Galar champion?"
Gloria smirked as well. "I'm game!"
Suddenly, Nurse Joy came out from the Pokémon Center, and said in disapproval, "Enough! You all know the rules. Pokémon fights out of rage and hatred are strictly prohibited in this region!"
Hop started to panic. "But, Nurse Joy...!"
Leon put a hand on Hop's shoulder and shook his head.
Sordward said as he stuck up his nose up snobbishly,"Fine. Come, younger brother. Let's not waste anymore time with these low-class Grimers..."
Shieldbert obediently followed his older brother to the exit of Wedgehurst station.
Bede put his hands on his hips and asked out loud,"Who does those guys think they are?"
