Author's Note: WAHHH I FINISHED GIRL MEETS WORLD I'M SADDDD D:

Granted, I can just rewatch stuff. But still... it won't be the same.

Anyway. While I liked the last episode, I felt like there were a few things that should have/could have been included (or maybe just that I would have liked to see, which is a different matter), and so I decided to do a series of snapshots taking place around that last episode. Enjoy! :)

Farkle + Smackle:

"You remember when I came to the conclusion that the color of every object we see is actually the one color it's not, because it's the one color of wavelength that isn't absorbed?" Smackle said suddenly, looking up from her textbook. Farkle was over at her house and they were doing their science work together at her kitchen table, which was a pretty common occurrence.

Smackle talking during that time, however, was considerably less common, so Farkle was quick to put his books down and listen. "Yes..." he replied slowly, wondering where she was going with this.

"Well, I just had another revelation," Smackle declared. "It says here that our molecular structures are actually adjusted when we change. So if- if Riley moves away, we would be substantially different than before and-"

Her voice cracked and Smackle blinked in surprise. She tried to take a deep breath but her chest was tight, and when she let the air out it came in jerks. When she raised her hand to her eyes they came away wet. "Farkle? What is... what is happening to me?"

"You're crying," Farkle realized, looking shocked. He was quick to get out of his chair and crouch in front of Smackle's, reaching up to grasp her biceps. "Hey, it's okay."

"I don't- I never cry," Smackle said, wiping furiously at her face. She gazed at Farkle, eyes wide. "What does this- what does this mean?"

"It means you're sad," Farkle explained gently. "Or at least upset. Maybe a little angry and scared. That's normal, Smackle. Our best friend is moving away, I- I don't blame you."

He stood up and pulled her with him, tugging her into a hug. Smackle pressed her face into his shoulder and sniffled. "I am... I believe I am going to miss Riley. She was the very first one to be kind to me- even before you. She- she invited me to her house and made me over and it is because of her that I have friends."

"I know," Farkle whispered, dropping his chin onto the top of her head. He felt his own eyes burn but held tears back, knowing that this was Isadora's time to cry and be comforted. "I mean, she's my best friend besides you. I've loved her since the day I met her. But... but sometimes things change, you know?"

"Just like molecules?" Smackle whispered, not lifting her head from his chest.

"Yeah," Farkle agreed, and his voice broke. "Just like molecules."

Maya + Josh

"Well hello there, Long-game McBoing," Maya greeted teasingly as she caught sight of Josh lounging in one of the chairs at Topenga's.

"Hey, Maya," Josh replied. "How're you holding up?"

Maya shrugged, taking a casual seat next to him. "Oh, you know how it is. Maya stays, someone leaves. It's such a time-tested tale that Matthews could basically teach it in World History!"

She made her voice light and theatrical, but Josh didn't laugh. He squinted a little at her, his face serious. "Riley's not leaving you, you know that, right?'

Maya frowned, not understanding.

"She's leaving," Josh reiterated. "But she's not leaving you. There is a difference."

"Doesn't matter, in the long run," Maya said with a dejected shrug. "She's still gone, I'm still here. Trust me- I tried to get them to take me to London and I was told a firm no."

"I'm sure your mom wouldn't want you in a foreign country," Josh said, smiling faintly.

"Oh, she was all for it. Topenga was the one who shut it down."

"Oh." Josh frowned, unsure how concerned he should be about that.

They sat in silence for awhile. "Josh?" Maya asked softly. "Why do things have to change?"

He glanced over at her and reached across the divide in their chairs to take her hand. Maya looked down at their intertwined fingers, motionless. "Sometimes change isn't a bad thing," Josh said quietly. "Change can tear people apart, sure. But it can also bring them together."

"Ohhh, is this some parallel to our future relationship or something?" Maya asked in a goofy voice.

"Or something," Josh agreed, giving her hand a squeeze and deciding not to let go just yet.

Lucas + Riley

"I feel cheated," Riley admitted from her spot next to Lucas on the subway. She gazed out the window as the grey tunnel wall wizzed past, eyes glazing a little. "I mean, sure. We figured all our stuff out but we never- we never even went on a real date after all of that."

"Technically we did," Lucas replied with a shrug, wrinkling his nose a little. "We got smoothies. And didn't speak for, like, a solid hour."

"Exactly," Riley groaned. "That's not a real date. And now I'm probably moving to London and we'll never see each other again and we'll never have a real date and it's just not fair and this is not sunshine Riley this is angry Riley."

Lucas jumped a little at the incredibly dark and growly voice Riley had just taken on, and scooted the tiniest of bits away for the sake of his own safety. "You don't know for sure that you're moving," he rationalized, before he paused. "Do you?"

Riley shrugged, leaning forward to rest her chin on her hands. "No..." she admitted. "But we are. I can feel it. And- and if we do I'll try to be happy for my mom because she deserves this, you know? But it's not- it's not fair. The only person this benefits is her and that's not fair."

Lucas nodded. "Hey, just remember," he said, "when I moved, it turned out to be a great thing. I met you." He gave her a gentle nudge. "And sure, it's hard at first. But for all you know this could end up being really great."

Riley turned her large, puppy-dog eyes on him. "There will never be another you," she murmured sadly.

"And there will never be another you," Lucas agreed, his mouth slanting down a little. "But there shouldn't be. I'd never expect there to be. You were exactly what I needed when I got to New York, and maybe there'll be someone waiting to be exactly what you need when you get to London?"

Riley shifted her weight and leaned against his shoulder. "But- but what if you're everything I need?" she whispered.

Lucas opened his mouth, but nothing came out.

Maya + Farkle

"Man, it's been the three of us since..." Maya trailed off, looking sideways at Farkle. He was perched outside of her window, for once, arms and chin resting on the outside ledge.

"Since that day when Riley almost drowned trying to bob for apples," Farkle finished, smiling a little.

Maya let out a breath. "What are we going to do without her, Farkle?" she asked, almost desperately. "Do we even know how to be without Riley?"

Farkle shrugged, twisting around to rest his back on the wall, legs dangling over the side of the fire escape. "I don't know what's going to happen," he admitted. "Hey, who knows. Maybe you'll end up with Lucas after all."

Maya wrinkled her nose. "Um, ew," she declared. "I tried dating Huckleberry once. Never again, Farkle. Never again."

Farkle laughed, but the smile was falling off his face again pretty quickly. "I just can't believe all of this is happening," he confessed. "I mean, one moment we're deciding that change is good; that we'll take things day by day and yeah, time will move quickly but we'll make sure that it goes slow enough for us to enjoy it. The next moment... bam. Riley's leaving for a different country and we might never have her in our lives again."

Maya wiped her eyes, moving to curl into a ball on the other side of the window. "Why does time decide that it gets to move so fast?" she asked miserably. "Why don't we have control over anything?"

"We do have control over some things," Farkle replied. He reached up through the window and felt around until his hand managed to pat Maya's hair.

She sniffled, reaching up to give it a squeeze. "Like what?"

"Like what we do right now," Farkle said. "Riley isn't gone yet. How we spend the remaining time we have with her is, truly, up to us, and no one can take that away." He paused, letting out a sigh. "Not even time."

Everyone

Even after a sleepover and countless hours of hugs and tears, the day after they found out the Matthews were staying in New York, Maya and Riley were still inseparable. They walked into school with giant smiles on their faces, arm in arm, but right before they headed into History, Riley pulled them to a stop. "I have an evil plan," she said, grinning.

"I love a good evil plan; hit me with it," Maya rejoined, stepping back opening her arms.

Riley balled the invisible plan up in her hands and threw it at Maya, who pretended to be knocked backward into the lockers. Once they'd stopped giggling, Riley laid out her idea. "Ok ok, so we walk in and look completely expressionless. And we don't say anything about mom's decision until I think the time is right. I want them to be the upmost surprised."

Maya held up her hands. "You're the boss," she said. "But if Lucas cries I'm gonna tell him."

"Lucas won't cry," Riley scoffed, before pausing. "You really think Lucas would cry over me leaving?"

"Oh, he'd cwy big owld cowboy teaws," Maya replied, pouting terrifically.

"He would?" Riley asked, beginning to grin maniacally.

"Yes, now don't let it go to your head."

The bell rang, and the two girls exchanged nods and walked casually into the classroom. They found their friends in various states of depression. Zay had a small frown on his face, Lucas had his head down on the desk, Smackle had managed to curl into a ball in her chair, and Farkle was staring off into space, picking at the edge of his homework.

"Aw, just look at 'em," Maya said with a fond sigh. "They're like a bunch of depressed puppies, Riles. Are you really going to keep them in their misery?"

"Yes," Riley decided. "But not for long."

She and Maya took their seats, and Mr. Matthews walked into the room soon after. He was practically glowing, looking like he'd never been so happy to see all of them, but the smile diminished when he caught sight of the majority of his class. "Riley..." he said slowly, giving her a look. "You didn't tell them...?"

"Not yet," Riley said, deciding that she was too excited to wait any longer. She twisted around to face her friends, who were now all looking terrified. "Guys, I have some news."

Lucas' face drained of color and Farkle bit his lip. Smackle reached out and rubbed his shoulder, and her hand was shaking.

"I'm... not moving to London."

"YAHOO!" Zay cried, leaping out of his chair with surprising vigor. Then he stopped and looked around. "Seriously? I'm the only one?"

"Yeah buddy, you're the only one who could possible 'yahoo' quite like that," Maya told him with a grin.

"Really?" Lucas said, ignoring the both of them. "You're really staying in New York?"

"I am," Riley confirmed with a large smile. She hoped out of her chair and went to stand in front of him. "Are you happy?"

Lucas jumped up and crushed her in a hug, and Maya whooped from her chair.

"Farkle!" Smackle, now on her feet, cried, reaching up and pressing her hands to her face. "It's- it's happening again!"

He stood up and put an arm around her shoulders, squeezing her into his side. "It's okay, Isadora," he said, beaming at Riley. "Sometimes... sometimes you cry when you're happy."

Author's Note: Hehehehhehehe SMARKLE AND LIFE ARE SYNONYMOUS JUST HAD TO THROW THAT OUT!

Okay, btw, my last Girl Meets World story did surprisingly well! Like, people seemed to really liked it. So thank you guys for the support! I'm never sure how well everyone is going to take to me writing a new fandom; it's hit or miss.
