Hey guys! TheDeathlyRider2287 here. Here's a new fanfic for you people. Sorry for the length, but this is usually how long my chapters are. Thanks to pandamaster97720 for helping me chose the title! Anyway, on with the new story!
The first rays of sunlight streamed through Hiccup Haddock the III's bedroom window. Time to get to the blacksmith's shop. Hiccup was the village runt and reject. You know what Hiccup means? It means runt of the litter. The weakling of the pack. The one that is usually left to die. The one that everyone ignored. That pretty summed up Hiccup's life, except for the part where everyone ignored. Hiccup was a prime target for bullying from his cousin, Snotlout Jorgenson and the troublesome twins, Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thorsten. The activities that Snotlout usually engaged with ranged from anywhere between cornering Hiccup and beating the hell out of him or, burning down houses and blaming it on him. All with the help from the twins. Hiccup's crush, Astrid Hofferson didn't engage in the "punishing" of Hiccup, but she certainly didn't intervene, often disappearing as soon as the first punch from Snotlout was thrown. The only two people who was even sort of kind towards Hiccup was Fishlegs Ingerman and the town blacksmith, Gobber the Belch. Fishlegs was certainly not a friend, you could be sure of that, but he was always polite towards Hiccup. Gobber had "employed" Hiccup as an apprentice in his forge. And Hiccup was damn good at it. He had fashioned most of the village's weapons. Why did the small village of Berk need so many? Because while most places had mice, snakes, or other pests, Berk had DRAGONS. Huge, scaly beasts that owned the sky. They were smart and lethal, killing anybody that got in their way, and creating diversions so that others could wreak havoc. There hadn't been a fatality in years, although there were several close calls.
Pulling on his tunic, Hiccup slunk down the stairs. Good. His father, Stoic the Vast, was not in the house. Hiccup's relationship with his father was…challenging. There was an atmosphere of disappointment constantly eradiating off Stoic towards Hiccup. Hiccup predicted that this was because of what happened to his mother when he was little. She had been carried off by a dragon. Not good. Hiccup decided to take a back road to the forge. Better to avoid the market day crowds. Turning right, Hiccup began to walk down the hilly path towards the back path. Today was going to be a good day, Hiccup just had THAT feeling. Unfortunately, it was not to be. As Hiccup was walking down the street, he didn't see Snotlout and the twins sneaking up behind him. WHAM! Snotlout's fist connected with the back of Hiccup's head, knocking him out instantly. Snotlout then put a bag over Hiccup's head and proceeded to drag his body away…
Hiccup awoke tied to a chair in a dark, torchlit room. Looking around, he noticed that five people were standing around him. Upon closer inspection, he saw that the five people were Fishlegs, the twins, Snotlout and… Astrid!
"O-Oh, hi g-guys! W-W-What's up?" Hiccup spluttered out.
"Don't act like you don't know anything" growled Astrid.
"Yeah, where are they?" Fishlegs interjected.
"W-W-What are you on about?" Hiccup stuttered
CRACK! Astrid's fist connected with Hiccup's face.
"You know what we're talking about!"
"WHERE ARE THE THINGS YOU STOLE?!" Fishlegs screamed.
"What do mean, the stuff I stole? I haven't stolen any- "
Hiccup did not get to finish his sentence because Astrid's hands had turned into a blur of action, each punch directed at Hiccup's face or torso. Soon, everyone had joined in, throwing punches and kicks at him. The pain just kind of faded to black and unconsciousness pulled Hiccup from reality…
