Modern universe. One Shot.

It was a beautiful windy day at green hill zone, and 17 years old Amy rose with her cute floral dress. She was alone having a mini picnic by herself while studying for her archeology class exam that's coming up. She started to take these archeology online classes because she started to take interest in archaeological artifacts, architecture, biofacts, cultural landscapes and also history. After a while Amy was eating her sandwich while studying until she saw blue blur from afar coming her way. He was going way too fast as if he was gonna knock her and she squinted her eyes until he stops in front of her.

"hi Amy, what's up?" giving his signature grin, she looked up to his emerald eye's, those eyes that she would always loose herself in them. She shook her head to get back to reality from her love gaze and replied, "Nothing much just studying you?" she put her book and sandwich down. "Fine, I'm just super swamped, can't be tamed, born to run, you know how it is." still grinning. The pink and blue hedgehogs' relationship has been good through the years, i mean they where already friends through the begging but you know the usual amy would chase sonic, sonic would run and he wouldn't usually stay in the same place. However as years went by amy matured she wouldn't chase him and sonic learned the meaning of team work he wouldn't just always run and do things alone most of the time when team work is needed, but still his motto never changed "living by my own way. my own way." they became closer friends than they already were and yes amy's affection has become stronger but its more to herself and not overly affection like she used to be. Of course, sonic romantic feelings are still a mystery, even with all those years she was with him as friends of course since she was like 8, she still doesn't know where she stands with him is she his love interest or just a platonic friend? She always thought they have this special connection with him, yea he cares about all his friends and he would die or do anything for every single one of them, but she always is determined that she has a special place in his heart...

" hey earth to Amy!" the blue hedgehog was waving his hands in her face and she again woke up from her daydream daze. "oh sorry what did you say?" he looked at her and then a grin appeared "you know amy.." she looked at him "..i think your about the cutest thing I've ever seen" her eyes widened and looked at him dumbfounded 'What really…wait this is coming out of no where' she thought her heart started to beating harder. "w-w-what" she stuttered anxiously and blushing her face turned into a tomato. His eyelids lowered and said " the way you swing that little cute hammer of yours around my hearts beats a million times a minute and the way your hair blows around like an angel on earth." 'am I in lala land...omgg is he gonna?' amy thought looking at him dreamily "Amy" he looked at the cute hedgehog as her eyes sparkled "now I see what a fool I've been for not saying this early" holds amy's both hand 'its happening its happening' amy thought about to tear up. Sonic gets in one knee and amy now looks at him confused as ever 'what the chaos is happening' she raised her brows, but nonetheless she felt happy, not really understand what's happening, but all she is thinking that the love of her life is finally confessing. "Amy Rose..." 'yes finally' she thought as tears were about to burst "... Will you marry me?" "OHH! SONIC-" 'wait what' she thought *record scratched* 'wait i thought he was going to confess his love NOT propose I mean I'm not objecting if this happens, but this smells fishy' realizing THIS and getting mad " HEY WAIT A MINUTE..." wipes out her hammer "sonic would never say that who are you, I may quitted my hammer rage a long time ago, but I'm not gonna stop myself to hammer your butt to next week."

Sonic looked at her stunned and fell to the ground laughing and amy just looked at him confused and mad and really mad. "Ames chill I was just messing with you wanted to see if someone really had some shape shift power will you know it's me or not!." amy looked at him furiously and flames looked like coming out of her eyes. "NOT COOL SONIC NOT COOL" she was about to hit him to oblivion and sonic put his hand on his face waiting for the impact, but amy stopped herself and her face turned red and small tears started coming out of her jade eyes. "Why would you do that! you're such a jerk" she put the hammer down and put her hands around herself and looked away sadly. Sonic felt really guilty he didn't think she would be hurt. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you, I didn't think that it would hurt you this bad cause we sometimes joke about the marriage thingy, you know when you would say that to me when we were kids" he went to her and put his arm around her to comfort her. "I mean... yea but come on this was extreme" the pink hedgehog said rubbing her eyes. "Again Im really sorry, hehe it not like you still have a crush on me right eh" he said jokingly pushed her a looked away again looking a bit down trying to hid her blush. "of course, not... we're friends right" sonic looked at her reaction smiling warmly at her knew that's not true, but didn't say anything. He let her go "so.." he dashed and came back with his left hand behind him "forgive me?" presented her a white/lavender flower she smiled at him, hit him lightly in his arms " you know can never be mad at you for too long" she said as amy smiled shyly and looked away. Sonic grinned and gave her his signature hands up, she looked at him with her brow arch he laughed and gave her a quick hug and said " lets hangout and have a picnic tomorrow ok?byEGOTTAGOFAST" and with that he dashed off. Amy sighted and shook her head and laughed 'that guy'.

With sonic, the blue blur smiled too himself from the encounter with the pink hedgehog and his little prank that actually meant to be as a joke didn't intent to hurt or offend her. He usually would joke around with her here and there about her old antics and she would laugh about it too. he chuckled. Amy. She was always there when ever he turned around and would follow him at the end of the world. Right now he is a free spirit and he is going so fast and free as the wind that he wouldn't stay still or settle down and be in a relationship, he just want to run and beat ol'baldy McNosehair's butt. However that doesn't mean that there isn't someone special that he likes and its not like he never denies it either, maybe being tied down doesn't mean not being free and in the future things might be different for him, he wasn't sure. But one thing he is certain of that no matter what Amy rose would always be there and wait for him.
