The Song of Fear
"When fields lie calm and wind stands still
Run home, Run Home"
I'm on my way home rushing so that I get there before dark. I decided to take a shortcut through what seemed like an empty and calm field.
"As the crows make night of the fading sun
Hide Now, Hide Now"
I got a bad feeling as the sun began to sink below the horizon, it's gotten dark quicker than I expected. Something is wrong.
"When the Trees do bow, as if they weep
Stay Down, Stay Down"
A chilling wind blew past me, and I ducked behind a tree, shivering despite how warm the summer night was.
"Though its light beckons forth, a Melody calls out."
I saw a light in the distance and a calming hum of an old woman returning home from a long day. Safety. I began to walk towards it.
The music began to get quieter as I approached the light, and then it cut out...
That's not a person I realized.
"Too late, too late..."
