A/N: Hello, readers! I am here with my latest story! I have been rereading the Sailor Moon manga and was inspired to write this!

This story will chronicle the story of how Serenity and Endymion fell in love and ultimately leading to when they were reborn. This is my interpretation of their love story. I'm trying to keep things as close to the Manga as possible (we ALL make little mistakes). If you catch anything, let me know!

This is just for you all to enjoy!

The Earth and The Moon

Chapter 1: The Trees, Grass and Water

Long Ago. Silver Millennium.

Mare Serenitatis. The Moon Kingdom.

The illustrious Kingdom of the Moon. Ruled by the great Queen Serenity, it was her job to look over the kingdom and the well being of the people of the Moon. In addition to the safety of her people, Queen Serenity, aided by the Four Guardians: Mars, Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter, and the Outer Guardians: Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, they ensured the safety and harmony across the galaxy.

Predominantly that was true with that of Planet Earth.

Under the guise of "Selene", goddess of the Moon, Queen Serenity watched over the nearby planet from afar. Offering aid only in the most desperate of times. Otherwise, The Queen kept her distance and advised the people of the moon to do the same.

Especially that of her only child, and heir to the Moon Kingdom throne: Princess Serenity.

"Where is she? Where is she!?" The guardian, Venus mumbled to herself, trudging through the corridors of the Moon Kingdom's palace. As the Moon Princess' protector and closest companion, it was her responsibility to keep a watchful eye over the future queen.

A task that was often easier said than done.

'Princess!? Where are you hiding, THIS time?' Venus' thoughts raced, her eyes darting from left to right.

Just like Princess Serenity. On the days where she was expected to join her mother and Guardian Mercury for her royal studies, she suddenly came down with a mysterious "illness", plum forgot, or decided it was a perfect opportunity to play hide and go seek.

The guardian of Venus couldn't help in scolding herself. After all these years at the Princess' side, you'd think she would be more aware (and ready) for her highness' aversion to her studies. A foolish mistake.

The bedroom chambers? No. Ballroom? No. The Great Hall? No. Kitchen? No. Lavatory? No, no, NO!

'Princess Serenity is lucky that her mother is not one of them vengeful rulers! Losing track of the Princess once again, she would have my-' Venus' train of thought came to a stop. There was one place that she hadn't checked yet. The princess had to be there!

'Oh, please be there!'

The Garden.

Bursting through the entry way that led to the palace's garden, Venus came to a halt as her eyes started to scan the surrounding area. It wasn't too long before they caught onto something off in the distance.

A sigh of relief escaped the guardian's lips. Placing a hand upon her breathless chest, as she made her way across the open garden. There, up ahead, resting peacefully under a shaded tree was the Princess. Her long golden hair laid freely across her shoulders and tumbled down her back before coming to rest on the grass beneath her. Her gown spread out wide as she kept her knees drawn up and hugged close to her chest. Peaceful and serene, the Princess gazed out, fixated on the blue and green planet of Earth that stood off in the distant; lost in her thoughts.

"Well, this is a new hiding spot for you, your highness." Venus commented, bringing Serenity from her thoughts with a jump.

"Oh, Venus, you startled me!" Serenity replied, transferring her attention.

"I'm sorry, Princess, I didn't mean to startle you! It's just, we are late for your royal studies with your mother and Mercury." Venus explained.

Serenity's innocent composure quickly melted away as shock and panic came to the surface, "Is it time already!? Oh, Venus, I'm so sorry, I completely lost track of time! I'll never hear the end of this from Luna for being late, yet again."

"It is alright, Princess. Everyone was just a little concerned. They thought you were trying to avoid your studies. Once again." Venus poked fun as she reached out to Serenity, assisting her as she made her way to her feet.

Serenity let out a tiny giggle, as Venus began straightening out her gown, brushing off any unwanted filth. "Oh, no, not this time, anyways. I was just...thinking about Earth."

The comment caught Venus off guard, turning towards the Princess, she followed her gaze out to the nearby planet.

"Down on Earth, they have trees and grass and water that encompass a majority of their planet. Can you imagine how beautiful that must all be? Oh, and to feel it!"

For as long as Venus had known the Princess, the royal had always expressed an unusual fascination with the planet of Earth, its people and their way of life. Something about the vast difference between both worlds piqued the young heir's interest.

"Uh, yes, Princess, from afar, it all looks lovely." Venus chose her words carefully. "But, here on the moon, we also have trees and grass and water."

Serenity laughed. Almost as if she were insulted. "Oh, Venus, ours are not real. The trees and plants are not fueled by the oxygen and Father Sun. The water we receive is not gifted from the clouds or surrounding landforms. They are simply replicas. The envy and desire of what we have seen from others. We don't even get to feel the warm kiss of the sun or the gentle breeze through our hair. Can you imagine how wonderful that must all...feel?"

Venus had nothing to say. Such an idea had never occurred. As Guardian, her only role was to protect her star planet and the Moon Kingdom.

A silence fell between the two. Both absentmindedly staring off. Venus' gaze kept close-watchful-on the Princess. Serenity's returning to the planet Earth.

After a few moments, Serenity broke her gaze, turning towards her guardian, and smiled. "We should probably retire to the study for my day's lesson, before mother sends Luna after us."

Venus smiled and nodded.
