Yo-kai Watch
Today, started like any day for Nathan Adams, wake up, get greeted by Whisper and Jibanyan, and go to school. It was simple right, well, maybe not today. "Hey Nate, good morning" a feminine voice yelled towards him. Nate turned around and found Katie, running over to catch up with him.
"H-hi K-Katie" Nate said, the girl gave the boy a smile, and began walking with him to school, not one of them talking, well, Nate not talking to be exact. "Nyate, it's just Katie, you've seen her your entire life, talk to her" Jibanyan said, a visible sweat drop rolling down her head. "I know that, but I'm nervous, there's a big school dance coming up and I want to ask her if she wants to go with me" Nate said, "KEEP YOUR VOICE DOWN" Whisper yelled.
"Nate, did you say something"
Nate turned around, finding the ponytailed girl giving the boy a confused look. "Oh, n-nothing i-important" the boy waved his hands. "Did you say something about the dance, because I was planning to go" she said. "Really, well… do you want to go with me" Nate asked, Jibanyan and Whisper both looked at each other, then back at the children. "Sure, why not" Katie said, Nate's heart almost exploded as a huge blush covered his face. "Congrats Nate, however, you're gonna be late for school" Whisper said, Nate snapping out of his shock, realized that he was right, and started speed walking to school, with Katie not far behind him.
"Shall we get going too?"
"Nyan, I don't know, I'm going to the intersection today, have fun" Jibanyan walked off in a different direction, and Whisper floated off towards the two children and the school, where the bell rang and class had soon begun.
Later that day:
It was free period at the school and everyone was hanging out in the classroom, Katie was hanging out with Sarah and Alex while Eddie and Bear were hanging out with each other, Nate had to go do something, and said he would be back later. Alex, who happened to look out the window for some reason, found Nate. "Guys, it's happening again" Alex said, pointing out the window, Katie looked confused while Sarah looked out the window. "Oh my gosh, your right, he's crazy" the girl gasped.
Katie looked out the window, and found Nate, talking to… nobody? "I told you, Nate's crazy" Alex said, adjusting her hat a little. "HEY NATE, WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO" Katie had opened the window and yelled out to the boy, who jumped at the sound of her voice. "Uh… I bought myself wireless headphones and was talking on the phone, yeah" Nate said, quickly moving out of Katie's sight. Alex frowned, "That kind of sounds like a lie, he seemed a little jumpy, and Nate's to average to have wireless headphones" she said. Katie looked at the spot that Nate stood, maybe Alex was right, was Nate crazy?
"Ugh, that was a close one" Nate sighed, "Who knew Katie would actually look out the window" Whisper said. "Anyway, back to the task at hand, who is this guy" Nate pointed to the yo-kai.
"Oh I know him, it's obvious, he's a gorilla, so his names obviously Yellow monkey, or maybe something like Jacket ape, or maybe… aha, his name is Sing Kong" Whisper, after heading for the yo-kai pad, shouted the yo-kai's name.
TOUGH TRIBE: SING KONG
"When this yo-kai inspirits you… you have the utterly urge to sing or listen to music so loud that it annoys everyone around you, that's this yo-kai's deal" Whisper said. "So, it was your fault that Eddie played that music during class" Nate growled. "Aw come on dude, that music is awesome, kids these days have no taste in music" Sing Kong grumbled, both Nate and Whisper blinked.
"All you kids listen to is rap, it bugs the life out of me, and I'm already dead" the yellow gorilla growled. "I think he's trying to show you that there is other music out there besides rap" Whisper floated over by his side. "I get that, but that doesn't mean that he can just play music so loud in the middle of class that it distracts everyone" Nate said, taking out a dream medal. Unknown to the three of them, Katie, who had gone outside the school, was watching Nate talk to the yo-kai. "Come on out my friend, calling Jibanyan" Nate had flipped some sort of coin into the air.
Who's Jibanyan, why is he talking to himself, is he talking about the incident that happened in class Katie thought, as Nate grabbed the coin and proceeded to do something with it, from the girl's point of view (which was behind some bushes mind you) she couldn't tell. She then saw Nate get hit by thin air for no reason. "I'm sorry you lost, but that doesn't matter, go teach that gorilla a lesson" Nate pointed towards the air. She then heard Nate start mumbling again and went closer to hear better.
"Great, Jibanyan's down, Whisper, is there a yo-kai that can beat this guy" Nate said, looking to his left. Whisper pulled out the yo-kai pad, "Well, maybe we could summon someone musical that can help us out, let's see here"
"Come on out my friend, calling Tomnyan"
"WHAT, I DIDN'T EVEN FINISH" Whisper yelled as Nate slid the medal into his watch. "I can't believe he's summoning this guy" Jibanyan grumbled. The song finished and the cat yo-kai appeared out of thin air.
TOMNYAN (DA DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNUNUNUNUNUNUNUN ENCORE ENCORE)
"Tomnyan, go teach Sing Kong a lesson in music" Nate said, knowing that the cat yo-kai could play the guitar. "OH MEOW GOD, as in THE Sing Kong, master of rock music" the cat yo-kai, the cat yo-kai turned around. "I can't believe it's you, this has to be a dream, meow" Tomnyan said. "Wait, you knyow this guy" Jibanyan asked. "Know him, he's famous in Ameowrica for being one of the best yo-kai singers, sure, he can't top Lady Nyanya, but, he has sold millions of albums" the cat yo-kai explained.
"Y-y-y-you like my music, you wouldn't be listening to rap music" Sing Kong said, "As if, I would always listen to you, sure you're not Lady Nyanya, but you'll be meow favorite yo-kai musician" the cat yo-kai said, giving Sing Kong a thumb up. Sing Kong almost fell to his knees, a few tears weld up in his eyes; there was still someone who would listen to his music, ONE person (or yo-kai in this case) that listened to rock. Sign Kong eventually fell to his knees, dropping a medal from his jacket pocket.
Katie, seeing the entire scene play out, gasped in shock as a coin with a red rim appeared out of nowhere, and was picked up by nothing. "Thanks for the help, Tomnyan" Nate smiled, before walking back towards the school. Whisper, unseen by Katie, turned around to follow, however, out of the corner of his eye, he saw the girl. "Huh, what's up Whisper" Nate said, before noticing the girl, and gasping.
"Uh… Katie, hi" Nate waved, hoping the girl had just appeared. "Nate… what were you doing just now" the ponytailed girl asked. "…practicing, I'm auditioning for a play in Harrisville, yeah, that's it" Nate sweat dropped "Then, what was the coin thing for" Katie asked, "I don't know, I… just found it on the ground" Nate scratched the back of his head, until the bell rang. "Well, that's the bell, better get back to class" Nate said, before turning around and running back before Katie could answer anymore questions. The ponytailed girl was about to call for the boy, but he ran away.
He's hiding something from me; I can tell Katie thought, puffing a cheek, the girl went inside the school, determined to find out what her friend is hiding.
The End of the Day:
The end of school is probably a good thing or a bad thing for students; luckily, no one had gotten any homework over the weekend, so they could have some time to just relax. "Ugh, finally, that test was horrible" Nate walked out of the school, "I told you, you should study more often instead of being lazy and playing video games all day" Whisper said. "But being lazy is the best, you don't have to do anything, just lie around and sleep" Jibanyan said. "Of course you like being lazy, you're a cat" Nate said.
"Who's a cat?"
"Sorry, just… thinking out loud" Nate scratched the back of his head, before checking his watch, "Oh, would you look at the time, gotta run" Nate laughed, walking away from his group of friends. "Hey, is it me, or has Nate been acting weird lately" Bear asked. "Yeah, isn't it strange that he talks to himself" Katie asked, both Eddie and Bear stopped and looked at the girl. "Katie, he's always talked to himself ever since that bug hunt a few summers ago" Eddie said. "Yeah, you never noticed" Bear asked.
Katie blinked, has she not noticed it for that long? "I guess not, Nate just seems so… normal, I just never noticed" Katie said, "Wait, don't you think it's weird that he just talks to himself randomly" Katie asked, "… a little, not really, if the dude talks to himself, the dude talks to himself" Bear said, Katie sweat dropped at this. The ponytailed girl gave a soft growl as she walked away from her friends and in direction the 'average' boy went. "You think she's over reacting about this a little" Eddie asked. "Maybe she likes Nate and is worried for him" Bear said.
"Man, Katie really is on me today" Nate sighed, walking back to his house. "You should really be more careful when you're around her nyow" Jibanyan said. "Yeah, you think she'll try to find out about the watch" Nate asked. "What watch?"
"GAH, don't do that" Nate jumped, turning around. "Your hiding something from me, aren't you" Katie sent the boy a glare. "What… no, of course not" the yo-kai watch user scratched the back of his head nervously. Katie squinted, "You were saying something about a watch before, what watch" she asked. "Um… a special watch I was going to get you as a gift for your birthday next year… yeah" Nate said. She could tell that he was lying, but decided not to press any further. "Well, I guess I'll talk to you later" Katie said walking away.
"See ya" Nate said, walking towards his house and closing the door. Letting out a sigh, the ponytailed girl walked back to her house. Up in her bedroom, the young girl was on her computer, looking up "Are you crazy if you talk to yourself", most of the results did say yes. "That can't be, Nate's not crazy… right" the girl asked herself. Katie leaned her head onto her fist, she did notice Nate act strange a few times, but she just shrugged it off when he did those things. "Maybe… I'll go see him tomorrow, yeah, straighten some things out" Katie said.
The next day:
"I'm heading out" the ponytailed girl announced, leaving the house and heading over to Triangle Park. Sure enough, Nate was there, except with Bear and Eddie. The three of them seemed to be just hanging out and having fun. "Hey guys" she yelled, walking up to her group of friends. "Hey Katie" Nate said. "What are you doing" the ponytailed girl asked.
"Oh, we were just hanging out, Eddie and Bear showing off their new Mega Watches" Nate said, the two boys showed off their watches. "Wow so cool… wait, Nate, don't you have a watch" Katie asked, "Oh yeah, and it's a family heirloom" Nate said, showing off his watch.
"Why doesn't it tell time?"
Nate blinked as the girl had a confused expression on her face. "It doesn't have any numbers on it, nor do the hands move, so… is it broken" Katie asked. "No… I don't really know the answer to that" Nate let out a nervous chuckled as he gave a smile, a bit of sweat rolling down the back of his head. "So, do you guys want to go bug hunting, it's a nice day out" Katie asked. "Yeah" the three boys said, rushing home to get their nets. The group soon found themselves on the mountain, nets in hand. "Alright, how about a little competition, whoever can catch the rarest bug wins" Eddie said, the group nodded and went off to look for bugs.
"You kids sure seem happy today" Whisper said, "Nyeah, maybe you'll find something nyot average today, Nyate" Jibanyan said with a smile, much to the boy's annoyance. "Let's just find this bug so I can school them" Nate growled, looking around. There seemed to be no rare bugs yet. He never found anything until he found Bear, who had just slumped over randomly. "Hey Bear, you okay?"
Bear jumped up high into the air and swung his net, before landing on his feet, and placing the bug in his hand. "What the" Nate blinked; he looked over to find Eddie, who swung his net so hard he took down a tree. "Okay, no way around this, it has to be a yo-kai" Nate used the yo-kai watch dream to scan for the yo-kai.
"Hey, I heard something fall, is everything… okay" Katie looked from afar as Nate was using his watch as a flashlight. "So, it's a flashlight too" the girl questioned. "There it is" the boy yelled as Katie moved closer to her friend. "Whisper, who's that yo-kai" she heard him say. "Uhm Nate, what's a yo-kai" Katie asked, Nate jumped back in shock. "Ah, K-Katie, its a-a-a type of bug, yeah, gotta go now" Nate ran off. "He's definitely hiding something" Katie walked in the direction of the boy.
"Man, that was close, anyway, who was that" Nate asked. "Oh, of course I know him, he has boxing gloves, so his name has to be something like Boxing Loaf, or maybe French Punch… AHA, his name is Punching Baguette" Whisper pointed.
CHARMING TRIBE: PUNCHING BAGUETTE
"When this guy inspirits you, you find out your true power and potential, a similar scenario is in a fight outside of school where one kid finds some sort of strength and knocks the bully out of the park" Whisper explained. "Well, since he's a food type yo-kai, I have the perfect yo-kai for the job" Nate held up a dream medal.
Punching Baguette grinned as he looked at the two boys, finding that he did get their true potential out. "I'm so hungry" the yo-kai heard, the baguette yo-kai started grinning. "Good choice, Hungramps would be a worthy opponent" Punching Baguette turned around to face his opponent, and with one single punch, knocked the yo-kai into the air. "Well, that didn't last long" Whisper said. "Fine, Come on out my Friend, calling Rocky Badboya" Nate spun the Merican medal into the air. "Yo-kai medal, do your thing" Nate slid the medal into the watch.

"Of course I would lose the roulette" Rocky Badboya sat in a corner, causing the three that could see him sweat drop. "Sorry about that, but I need you to go and take care of Punching Baguette" Nate said.
Did he just say what I think he said Katie sweat dropped, hearing the words Punching Baguette cross her mind. She watched the scene unfold as Nate kept talking to thin air, "This is super weird, and he's been doing this since the bug hunt that one summer" she mumbled. She looked to see Nate flinch for some reason, "Hey, wait, get back here" Nate yelled, running away and towards the exit of the mountain.
"Huh, what were we doing just now" Eddie blinked in confusion. "Well, guys, my mom just texted me, I gotta go, bye" Katie ran away from the group and down the mountain, following after the 'average' boy. "It didn't take long to catch up with him, and she found him with another girl.
"Great, he got Hailey" Nate sighed, a sweat drop rolling down his head. "We need a yo-kai that can beat this guy, Whisper, USApyon, you got any suggestions" Nate asked, the two yo-kai pulled out their yo-kai pads and started scrolling to find the perfect yo-kai to defeat this guy. "How about this fella" USApyon said, showing Nate the yo-kai, before coming up with an idea. "I got it, Whisper, go get me the yo-kai Bazooka" Nate said, Whisper nodded and floated away.
"Did, you just say Bazooka"
"GAH, quit doing that, and… uh no"
Katie didn't believe it, "You said something about a Bazooka, Nate just tell me the truth" Katie said, Nate backed away in fear, this was the first time he had heard Katie actually be angry at him, sure, there were times where he made the girl mad, but this was different. "Well, you see… hey look, is that your mom" Nate pointed behind her. Katie jumped as she turned around, but didn't find her mother. She turned around and found that Nate had seemingly disappeared, along with the girl that was there as well, disappearing. "NATHAN ADAMS" she screamed at the top of her lungs.
"Oh gosh, she's been on me since yesterday about this" Nate sighed, "Ah, Nathan, I have found you, here you are my liege" Whisper handed him the yo-kai Bazooka. "Alright, yo-kai Watch… Dream Link" Nate stuck the watch head onto the Bazooka.
"DREAM LINK"
"Come on out My Friend, Blazion" Nate slipped the medal into the watch head. The song played as Nate got maximum power. "You're going down you bread loaf" Nate fired a gush of fire from the Bazooka, which knocked Punching Baguette into the air. "I'm blasting off again" the yo-kai yelled, dropping his medal onto the ground. "Huh, where am I" Hailey blinked, looking in multiple directions.
"You were inspirited by a yo-kai, but Nate solved it for us, now we can go along our merry way" USApyon said, "Really, thank you Legendary Yo-kai Master, I'm off to get my comic" Hailey got all giddy as she ran away from the boy, who sweat dropped at her. "Who was that" a voice asked, Nate turned around and found Katie. "Oh, she's just someone I met a while ago, she's kind of annoying" Nate said, scratching the back of his head. "Okay…" Katie said, looking at the boy.
"Katie, I have to ask, have you been… spying on me" Nate asked, Katie forced out a laugh. "What, s-spying, no of course not" Katie laughed. "Okay, sorry, a silly thought that occurred to me" Nate said. Katie forced out a chuckle, "Yeah, though Nate, did she call you a Legendary Yo-kai Master" Katie asked. Nate froze up, "It is… a game she likes to play, calls me a Legendary Master of something" Nate replied, the girl squinted, but then nodded. "Well, I better be getting home, it's getting late."
"It's only 11:30 Am" Nate checked his phone. "Yeah, I was… planning on going to see Alex and Sarah; we were going to head over towards the amusement park today" Katie said, hating every word that came out of her mouth. Nate nodded, "Well, see you later" Nate walked away. Katie nodded and walked back to her house. The girl let out a sigh; I might have to apologize to him later for lying the ponytailed girl thought, entering her house. After greeting her mother, she went upstairs and went on her computer.
"What did he say again, yo-kai" the girl typed up the word yo-kai onto her computer. She found a whole bunch of websites saying that yo-kai were ancient spirits and ghosts. "Wait, does that mean… Nate can talk to ghosts or something" Katie blinked, now that idea just sounded crazy, too crazy. "Ugh, now that's just stupid to think, maybe I'm just over thinking this. …the dance is today, maybe I could talk to him when he comes to get me" Katie concluded.
Later that Night:
"Finally, it's time, remember what I told you two" Nate glared at the two yo-kai. "Yeah, yeah, don't worry Nyate, we won't get in your way of you and Katie's love, then you'll get married, have two kids" Jibanyan said. Nate opened his mouth to speak, but blushed when he heard the kid part. "Are daughters name will be something like… Natsume" Nate drooled. "He's doing it again" Whisper sweat dropped. "Nyatsume, what an average name" Jibanyan sweat dropped.
"Hi Nate, are you ready to go" Katie said, "It's not average… oh, hi, yeah, let's go" Nate sweat dropped. "Who were you talking to, did someone call you average" Katie asked, while not showing it, she could tell that Nate was annoyed by the word. "N-n-no, let's just go" Nate grumbled, and the two began to walk to the school. "Nate, I need to talk to you about something… are you crazy" Katie asked, Nate stopped dead in his tracks. "Say what?"
"I was talking to some of the girls at school the other day, and they said that you that you were talking to yourself and they called you crazy, I didn't believe it at first, but then today, I saw you talking to yourself and doing weird things with people that aren't there. So… what's the deal" Katie asked. "Uh… well, there is a good explanation for this… I like to play pretend?" Nate started to question himself. "That's the best excuse you could come up with" Jibanyan asked. "Quiet you" Nate muttered under his breath, but Katie heard it. "See, there you go again, I'm starting to think there right" Katie said, sounding a little sad. "They aren't, I assure you, I just…" Nate trailed off, glancing towards the air for a few seconds. "You just what" the girl continued. "I just… can't tell you, you wouldn't believe me" Nate scratched his head. "The jig is up Nate, you did plan on telling her about us at one point… right" Whisper asked.
"Honestly… no, and you do realize that if Katie gets wrapped up in this, she could get hurt or worse, even die" Nate growled softly, making sure that Katie didn't hear. "Don't worry Nyate; I have the purfect solution to your problem" Jibanyan jumped up onto Nate's shoulder and whispered into his ear.
"Katie, you have to promise to keep this a secret…. I… I hear things and when I turn, nothings there, and I just casually go along with it to have a conversation" Nate flinched. Katie could tell that he was lying, "… okay, just as long as you're not crazy" Katie smiled. "Thanks Jibanyan, I owe you one" Nate flashed the yo-kai a thumbs up. "Eh, nyo problem, nyow we can go to the dance" Jibanyan cheered, Nate nodded and the group made their way over to the school.
Making it to the school, Nate and Katie both found that the gym was made up to mimic basically any type of school dance, tables with food and drinks on them, a disco ball hung at the top of the ceiling, it looked fun. "Nate, you should also be aware that there may be yo-kai around every corner, you know how they like to hang out at huge parties" Whisper said. Nate nodded, and escorted Katie into the gym. "WOO, YEAH, MEAT PARTY" one of the boys yelled, eating literally tons of meat at once.
"That's kind of unhealthy" Katie sweat dropped. Already Nate used the yo-kai Watch Dream to find the yo-kai. "Great" Nate mumbled. "Oh, it looks like BBQvil has started off this dance strong by making that boy eat tons of meat" Whisper commentated. "You think he would find something better to do with his time then come to a school dance, nyan" Jibanyan sweat dropped. "Hola, como estas" the two turned around and found Bear, speaking some sort of weird language. "What did you say" Katie asked, her expression turned to shock.
"Hm, puedes escucharlo correctamente" Eddie came into the picture. "Uhm, we can't understand you, what are you speaking" Katie asked. Nate quickly took out his yo-kai watch and shined the light over towards the two, finding a yo-kai that looked similar to Blazion, but had a book, blond hair, a red and white striped shirt, and jeans. "Who's that yo-kai" Jibanyan asked. "Well, its super simple ain't it, I obviously know that yo-kai, his name is… Lionquist" Whisper, after clearing his throat, said.
"Hola, puedes verme" Lionquist asked.
MYSTERIOUS TRIBE: LIONQUIST
"Lionquist is a yo-kai that can make you speak in any language, English, Spanish, Japanese, you name it, the person he inspirits makes them really fluent in speaking in any language he makes them" Whisper said. "Ah, I see, didn't mean to cause trouble amigo, just here to enjoy the dance" Lionquist, speaking in a language they could understand, snapped his fingers. "Huh, what was I saying just now" both Eddie and Bear said in sync. "Phew, glad to have you guys back" Nate sighed. "Yeah, you were speaking a whole different language" Katie smiled, letting out a little giggle.
"Wow, oh wow, so many purtty ladies here" a voice said, Nate, the only one noticing the voice, used the yo-kai watch and found the yo-kai. "Huh, hey, who are you" Nate said, walking away from the group. "Huh, Nate" the ponytailed blinked in confusion.
The yo-kai's attention turned over to the ponytailed girl, and his one eye became a heart. "Whisper, who is this guy" Nate asked. "Well Nate, it's something along the lines of One Eyed Lady Lover, or Sword Carrying Women Wanderer. AHA, his name is Deadcool" Whisper yelled.
CHARMING: DEADCOOL
"That's the name, behold in my legendaryness" Deadcool flipped his cape. "Despite what you may think, he isn't a legendary yo-kai, just claims to be" Whisper sweat dropped. "Uhm… am I interrupting something over here" Katie blinked. "Oh n-n-nope, you're not interrupting, I… have to go see someone real quick, I'll be back" Nate said, walking away. "Watch this guy for a while, okay" Nate planted Deadcool next to Hailey Anne, before walking away.
"Hey pretty, how you doing tonight" Deadcool had a heart in his eye. Both Hailey and USApyon sweat dropped.
"Uhm, so… do you want to dance" Nate scratched his head, blushing a little. "Sure, why not" Katie smiled, and the two walked over to the dance floor. "Wow, some of these kids are really good" Nate said, Katie didn't say anything back, she kind of just laid there lifeless for a second. "WOO, YEAH" Katie started to dance out of nowhere. "Oh, it seems we have yo-kai trouble once again" Whisper said, Nate shined the light and found The Dancing Trio on the tables. "Hey, if it ain't The Dancing Trio, the three yo-kai that make people dance" Whisper commentated once again.
"Hey, could you guys please leave me and Katie alone, I don't really care what you do, just leave us alone" Nate asked. "Sure thing buddy, come on guys, let's get those party poopers out here to dance" Steppa pointed to a group of first graders, and the trio went over there to inspirit them.
"Huh, what am I doing here" Katie asked, looking around. "Alright people, it's time for a nice slow dance" someone said, Nate's face turned completely red. "Well, do you want to dance" Katie blushed slightly. "Okay" Nate's voice cracked as the two started dancing.
"Oh, Nate, I have always wanted to say this, but… I really like you" Katie said, blushing. "What the nyan" Jibanyan jumped in shock. "Huh, what I miss" USApyon asked. "Oh, hey, Katie just said that he really liked Nate" Whisper said, still in shock.
