It was a calm, full moon night. Well, as calm as it can get when the world's been shattered into continent-size pieces and the literal god of darkness had been released.

Screw you, Eggman.

Anyway, I was walking out of Professor Pickle's lab, looking for Sonic. It was late, and he was probably hungry, so I made him a chillidog. I know my chillidogs are his favorite, he just doesn't want to admit it.

I found myself near the town's plaza, chillidog in hand, when I heard growling. It must've been from those monsters that keep popping up at night. I got closer, just enough to see what was going on, and there he was.

Sonic the Hedgehog, fighting and completely obliterating them 'till they were nothing more than a purple smoke. Chip was there too, sleeping on his head. I sighed, admiring him from afar, before remembering what I came here to do. I approached him and called out to him.

"Soooooooniiiiiic!"

"Oh. Uh, hi Amy." he responded. He sounded kinda tired. He looked tired too, something I didn't notice before while admiring his feats of strength.

"I thought you might be hungry, so I brought you this!" I said eagerly as I gave him the chillidog.

"Thanks, but I need to get going."

"Right now?"

"Right now."

Safe to say that I felt very disappointed.

"C'mon, you haven't eaten in a while. Take a break." I said.

"I can't."

"Oh, come on! You need to take a break! You look exhausted!" I grabbed his giant clawed hand.

"But-"

"No buts! Look, everyone's getting some sleep, even Chip!" I gestured to Chip, sleeping peacefully on his head.

"Fine." he grumbled, and we were both on our way back to the professor's lab, with Sonic munching on his late-night snack as we walked.

By the time we reached the lab, he had already finished eating and was begining to look drowsy. I guided him to the couch, where he set Chip down and then plopped down next to him.

"Sleepy?" I asked, gently patting his head as I sat down next to him. He yawned and nodded. He looked... Oddly adorable as he fell asleep. I didn't really mind this form before, but I wouldn't necessarily call him attractive... Okay, that sounds mean. Anyway, he started falling asleep, and I was getting sleepy too. I lied down next to him, and I started to drift to sleep. Until I suddenly felt something warm and fuzzy wrap around me. I opened my eyes and saw Sonic's arm embracing me.

He was hugging me.

He was asleep and probably not aware of it, but still.I could barely hold back my squeals and tears of pure joy. That was probably the best moment in my entire life.

I don't even know how I managed to fall asleep that night. But when I woke up, Sonic was already gone. My guess is that he was too embarrassed and ran off. Or he was probably busy saving people or something. Or both. Probably both.
