Chapter 1...

Void. For an unknown, to me, amount of time, I've been stuck inside a Void. A place that embodies the concept nothingness. I've grown to not give any attention to the screams of anguish and sorrow that ring around every once and a while, lest I lose my quickly waning sanity. Being in here for a long time can do that to you...

Oh? You want to know what happened to me before I got stuck in here. Well, sit down and get comfortable. This'll take awhile...

One for All - Part 1

If you must know, I used to live on Earth. A normal highschooler who had just graduated tenth grade and was spending my summer binge-watching Fairy Tail, a popular anime that apparently inspired a ton of other good animes.

At the time, Fairy Tail's final season had just finished releasing over in America. I had finally decided to bite the bullet and watch the whole fucking anime from start to finish. I had previously gotten to the Phantom Lord War Arc of the show before quitting and watching other anime but I completely forgot most of the finer details.

It was near the end of the summer, when I had just finished the final season, that my life changed forever. Some might say that it was for good. Others might say that it was for the worse. In the end, it gave me something that has helped me stay sane in this Void...it gave me a true family. The magical powers were just a plus side to the situation...

Oh? And, just to let you know, my name is Jack Mason...

-Jack's POV | Earth - Jack's Bedroom | 1:00 AM-

"That was...amazing..." I just finished all of Fairy Tail. I could personally say that this will probably be my favorite anime of all time from now on. I glanced over to my computer's clock, noting that it was now one in the morning before standing up and just gazing out of my window into the distance. "I wish that I'd get the chance to do some of the things that happen in anime. Oh, well..." My eye caught a glimmer of blue light in the corner of my vision.

I turned my gaze down into my family's backyard where a ball of blue light had appeared, just floating there in the air. I stared for a second before rushing to put on some jeans, a pair of average white socks that went up to the edge of my calves, a generic white t-shirt and my favorite jacket.

As I was about to sneak out my bedroom, I paused at the door, turning back to my phone and the item next to it. It was a little project of mine: a physical representation of those scenes in My Hero Academia where either Midoriya or All Might were using One for All to its current full capacity.

I'd just finished Midoriya's green star and had begun the connection to a tenth star that I was gonna make into a yin yang to represent me if I'd gotten One for All. I'd already finished the yin yang itself, I just had to connect the two.

I grabbed my creation because, if that's what I thought it was, I'd be in for the ride of my life and it would help if I had something to boost me on my way there. I stuffed it into my backpack that I'd had packed full of clothes for a family camping trip we were going on tomorrow.

I snuck out of my room and down the stairs, heading toward the backyard sliding door. Wincing as I opened both the glass and screen doors, I walked outside just a bit before locking the doors and shutting them, making it seem like no one had left out of this door. 'I love using that loophole.' I idly thought before turning back to the blue ball of light.

I took the MHA DIY project out of my pack and held both pieces in one hand. I turned back to the house and military saluted while whispering. "Goodbye..."

I turned back to the ball of light before placing my right hand above it. A stab of pain assaulted my hand while my whole body began to feel like hell. Just before I blacked out, I heard a distinctly female voice say. "I've granted your wish. Live a good life, Jack Mason."

-3rd Person POV | Earthland - Fairy Tail Guild Hall | Just after Natsu saved Macao at Mt. Hakobe-

As the Fairy Tail guild went about their normal routine after Natsu brought Macao back to the guild hall, a blue light suddenly began to coalesce in the air in the center of the guild hall. The guild's members all hid behind recently flipped over tables as the blue light began to pulse as it formed a humanoid shape, a young boy of about fifteen years.

The light pulsed once more before it began to flake off and reveal the young boy that it took the shape of. He had spiky black hair with white streaks in it. He wore a pair of black pants, a white t-shirt, a black duster jacket with white trim, and a pair of black boots with two white bands tied around each of his legs just above said boots. He also had two each of these bands around his elbows. His form rotated until he looked to be standing in the air then floated down to the ground. When he opened his eyes, they were both a solid white if just given a glance. To the trained eye, you could see just a few black specks within the white color.

Suddenly, the boy's knees gave up on him and he fell down as white and black lightning danced around his form before he screamed in pain. His hair began to glow and defy gravity and his eyes each became half black, half white with a streak of white lightning arcing off each of them. His screaming suddenly stopped as he grit his teeth and, while most likely going through extreme pain, stood back up. Every guild member who had eyesight on the young male thought one thing. 'Impressive.'

His face was soon made into one of intense concentration mixed with pain as he presumably attempted to control the power radiating off of him. Soon, the lightning arcing off him dispersed and his eyes resumed their original state. For a second, he just stood there before he collapsed backward as he said. "Goddamnit. So much for first impressions." Then, he assumedly blacked out.

For about five minutes, the members of Fairy Tail just stared at the boy, having exited cover as soon as he fell backward. Then, they heard a familiar voice ring out. "Why are you all just standing there! He could be injured!"

Mirajane had seen the whole thing from the bar and walked over to pick him up and take him to the infirmary. After she got him hooked up to a medical machine, she was joined by Lucy, Natsu and Happy to watch him lay there. Natsu was the first to break the silence. "I'm gonna fight him after he wakes up." His voice was surprisingly calm and quiet.

"That's the first thing you think of? Why am I even surprised?" Lucy sounded exasperated but she didn't shout like she would've had the boy been awake or they were somewhere else. "I'm just wondering what his magic is? It's gotta be powerful if he was barely able to control it before he collapsed...?"

Mirajane stood up. "Let's let him rest. He needs it." The group of four walked out of the infirmary and were greeted by master Makarov. He looked tired. He smiled before gesturing toward the infirmary door.

"Is the young man going to be alright?" Mirajane just nodded. Makarov's face became serious. "Do you think that what we just saw was a magical overload?" Lucy gasped while Natsu just listened, confused.

"He must have some insane willpower then! If he was able to stand up and actively control his power during a magical overload!" Lucy's shout was answered by a groan of pain and a voice from behind the group saying something...

-Jack's POV | Earthland - Fairy Tail Guild Infirmary | Minutes before-

As I woke up from my unwanted nap, I found myself in an infirmary. 'Oh? So, someone brought me here instead of staring. That's kinda...expected, honestly.' That was when I heard Lucy shout. I reached a hand up to my ear as I groan in pain.

"I'm starting to regret coming here already, I mean, I knew that I'd get literally no peace and quiet as soon as I fricking touched that ball of light but damn. I've barely woken up and I'm already having my ears hurt." I must've closed my eyes because soon after I reopened them, I saw Lucy, Natsu, Mirajane, Makarov and Happy standing around the bed that I've been laying on. "Oh? Hi...?"

My jovial tone kinda tapered off when I saw their looks. "Well, young man, how did you get here?" This one was Makarov, who for some reason seemed to be very similar to All Might, as he interrogated me. I winced slightly as I had to think of an explanation. Before I could finish thinking a voice spoke within my head.

"Just tell him that Mavis Vermillion sent you here...I mean, I did after all." My breathing just stopped. I only vaguely heard the group of five around me calling out. Trying to get my attention, I assumed.

"What. The. Actual. Fuck? Why is Mavis Vermillion in my goddamned head?!" My shout seemed to make something click in my soul. Black and white lightning began to flash around my body distracting me from my anger. I focused on the lightning before it could disappear and, noticed something. There are red "veins" of what I think is power showing on my body and, when I focused on them with the intent of turning them off, they disappeared along with the lightning.

That was when I noticed something odd in my head, at least I think it's in my head. A giant "string" that had different colored stars in a line along its length. Anything two stars behind the one I assumed was my own are slightly greyed out and the two that I do have access to are forest green and a bright yellow. 'Midoriya and All Might? Oh my god.' I had a giddy grin on my face, not that I knew, and proceeded to play around with my new power. While switching Full Cowl on and off, I was interrupted by Makarov.

"Have you got control, young man?" At my confused look, he added. "Of your magic, I mean." I made an understanding face before something dawned on me.

"This...power, isn't magic. It's a Quirk." I laughed at the confused face he made. "In my universe, a couple years back, people began to get almost entirely random powers and humanity on my world called them "Quirks". At the time, we'd yet to discover much about the way they work but yeah..." I trailed off at his gaping face. "Dude, I don't want to go to Alvarez to look for your chin. Especially not when he's there..." I mumbled, but, it seems, Makarov heard me anyways.

Thankfully, he decided that we'd continue this conversation away from half of the future Team Natsu and one of the strongest wizards in the guild. "We'll continue this in my office and, no, Natsu, you cannot join." His serious tone seemed to quell any thoughts about eavesdropping on us as well as made the other four walk, or fly in Happy's case, out of the infirmary.

I stood up and followed Makarov out of the room I'd been in for around an hour since I'd woken up. As we walked through hallways that were never mentioned within the anime, I looked around in awe. The walls were lined with mentions of Fairy Tail's achievements. There was a plaque that showed every ever member of Fairy Tail and their current status, my eyes trailed along Mavis's name for a second and her false "dead" status before turning to a set of framed pictures that depicted a visage of all of the S-Class wizards that Fairy Tail has.

That was when a set of portrait-side posters showed all of Fairy Tail's teams and their accomplishments. I hadn't noticed how far we'd walked until Makarov quietly stated. "We've arrived." We both walked into Makarov Dreyar's, Fairy Tail Guildmaster and Tenth Wizard Saint, office...

-3rd Person POV | Earthland - Fairy Tail Guild Hall | After Makarov and Jack left the infirmary-

"Hey, Natsu?" Lucy asked, just curious. She'd seen them go off and had been wondering something. "Do you really think that kid's from another universe?" Natsu perked up at that.

"Huh? I'd wondered what they were going to talk about." He grinned again before standing up and walking off to the hallway they had just walked down, Happy and Lucy followed him down the hallway as Natsu sniffed the air before turning down another hallway.

Lucy whispered. "Are we going to eavesdrop on them? Really? Whatever, I guess..." They then caught a glimpse of Makarov's orange and blue striped hat as it disappeared into his office. Natsu stopped just outside the door and crouched down before placing his ear, cupped by his hand, on the door. Lucy did the same on the other edge of the door.

"...Are you sure?" They heard the master's voice through the door as well as the teen's reply.

"I'm as sure as I could be. Sir, your guild member, Natsu Dragneel is the most powerful demon, E.N.D. Etherious Natsu Dragneel. Created by Zeref Dragneel although he didn't do it under horrible circumstances." He paused. "You must understand. Zeref is immortal, he cannot die. He created Natsu just to make him stronger. He wants Natsu to kill him. The only way to do so is through the power of all the Dragon Slayers. Which Natsu will eventually gain, along with more..."

I stopped listening when I heard Natsu stand back up. He lit flames on his right fist before punching through the master's door. "Natsu. go back to the guild hall."

Natsu didn't answer the master. "Now!"

Natsu chose to speak. "How? How do you know who I am?! How do you know the future?!" Natsu's voice was getting louder every second and, as darker, maroon colored flames began to sprout off his body and his nails and teeth began to sharpen, more demonic.

The teen who was the focus of Natsu's rage summed his situation in one word. "Shit." Natsu lunged after the kid. The kid got into a pose as red veins of power began to show themselves on his skin. "One for All: Full Cowling! 100%!"

To Be Continued...

Will Jack survive Natsu's rage? Will Natsu become a full demon or will he keep his humanity? All these questions and more will be answered in the next chapter of Fairy Tail: Legend of The Balance Mage!

Lucy sobbed as Natsu attacked the kid they met only hours ago, his body already littered with bruises and possible burn scars. One particularly hard punch to the gut finally broke the camel's back. "One for All: Full Cowling! 150%!"
