Author's Note from PhoenixScamander: Alright everyone and welcome to Two of Us! This is a collab between myself and EustachTheKid! We are working on the chapters jointly while I'm working on other projects as well on the side. In this, Katsuki Bakugou is the biological child of Shouta Aizawa and Oboro Shirakumo. Toshinori Yagi is Shouta's biological father. This is Omegaverse as well. Also, I want to note that this wasn't a love triangle between Shirakumo/Shouta/Hizashi. The dynamic assignments are going to be the same as the rest of my fics because... you know... it's easier that way xD. Mitsuki and Masaru Bakugou are related to Aizawa through his mother. This fic is probably going to contain quite a few flashbacks for more understanding between Toshinori, Shouta, and Shouta's past. This chapter is most likely going to contain A LOT of flashbacks but it should give you a better understanding of everything. This chapter takes place after All Might arrives in Japan and the U.A. Entrance Exams.
Chapter One: Way Down We Go by Kaleo
"Hon, you've barely touched the rice."
Indeed was Shouta simply stirring his vegetable around the plate, not bothering to manoeuvre the food even near its destination. His husband grew more worried with the second when the raven-haired man wouldn't answer. Both knew what date was today, but none had dared to speak it out loud.
"I can get Katsuki from the Midoriya's later on. You make yourself comfortable before your patrol."
Shouta's fork came to a screeching halt on the dinner service, having Hizashi startle and drop his own cutlery to the floor. He hesitated for a moment whether to first go after the knife or his husband's over reaction, but then Shouta took the decision off his hands. Hizashi would need to get himself a new, clean knife.
"I'll get Katsuki."
"But I thought maybe you could lie back for a moment. Like refuelling energy before kicking asses tonight." Hizashi underlied his words with his emblematic air gun to give the kicking-asses part more illustration.
"Stop treating me like I'm broken."
All further protest died on Hizashi's lips.
Shouta turned his head to gaze toward the window in the living room, in the direction of the UA High building. In the direction where he died. The saying went that time was supposed to heal you, but just as rules had their exceptions, had time yet to sew Shouta's bottomless wounds.
Defeated, shoulders slouching, Hizashi bent down under the table for the knife. Today's date was the annual repetition where Shouta would become his fifteen-years old self again, reliving the day their mutual friend died. And for Shouta not only just a friend. Sometimes, Hizashi felt guilty for just sitting together with Shouta at the same table in the same apartment with the same shared future.
"I just thought you wanted some rest before-"
Shouta lifted his hand with the fork still in it, silencing Hizashi. The gesture came as close to a hit square in the face as Hizashi had ever seen him make. But instead of changing the subject, Shouta took the matter by its roots. "I promised Katsuki we'd visit his father's grave."
The syllables of the word fell over Hizashi like an iron blanket. Father. The man who was and would always be Katsuki's real father. The man who had undeniably gotten Hizashi the position he today found himself in. Hadn't Shirakumo died all those years ago, where would he be now? With whom would he be sharing his dinner table?
Such self-destructive thoughts had been Hizashi's loyal company since the day he and Shouta had decided to marry. Not to get him wrong, Hizashi had been the happiest man on Earth since then. But the place just didn't feel rightful to him, reserved eternally for another man. Of course, Shouta had already seen through the blond's doubts before long and had never been short on keeping Hizashi reassured of his love for him. Though, how was Hizashi ever to forget about Katsuki's biological father, when the boy carried so much of his other father in him?
The unusual quietness to Hizashi didn't go unnoticed, and Shouta turned around to face his husband. He cast a measuring glance at Hizashi before he said,"We're sitting here because I love you." Analytical and blunt as ever. Just the gruff, straightforward Shouta that Hizashi had undyingly fallen in love with so many years ago. And who had a child with another one. A child that Hizashi was now playing daddy of.
"Don't you dare continue thinking about whatever you're just wrapping your mind around. Stop it." Shouta's voice was noncommittal as always but had a stern edge to it for the one who knew where to keep looking for it. "Do you remember when I had found out?"
Hizashi did not respond at once to the question. Although it was vague and could have been referring to a bunch of finding-outs, Hizashi knew exactly which one Shouta meant. Shouta had told him exactly how he had reacted. How terrified he was. It wasn't uncommon for Omegas to bear children at such a young age but Shouta had been the hero course. It was more rare to have a hero in training become a parent at that age. He knew to this day that Shouta would never regret the decision that he had made that day.
Shouta was in complete disbelief. His ears rang and the world spun around him as the doctor continued to talk but he couldn't hear a word. Every person in the world had a main gender, boy or girl, and a secondary gender or dynamic known as Alpha, Beta, or Omega. Shouta is a male Omega. Biologically his body could conceive and carry a child. Only Omega males could carry a child like their female counterparts could.
Never in a million years would Shouta think that he would be in this kind of situation. He was fifteen, a first year in the hero course at U.A., and he was pregnant. Shouta's eyes filled with unshed tears as he walked out of the doctor's office with his Aunt Mitsuki and Uncle Masaru waiting for him in the waiting room.
Mitsuki, a beautiful ash blonde hair, red eyed, Alpha, stood up instantly as he came around with the doctor following behind him. Masaru, a Beta male and Mitsuki's husband, stood up in seconds after his wife launched out of her seat. "What's going on?" She quickly asked.
Shouta didn't reply which prompted Masaru to mutter, "Let's talk about this at home."
The trip was done completely in silence as Masaru drove them home with Mitsuki in the passenger front seat and Shouta in the back. Shouta pulled his knees up to his chest, picking at the ends of his sweater as he looked down at his hands.
What was he supposed to do now?
He could feel Mitsuki's gaze practically burning into him through the mirror but he still couldn't pull his head up to look at her. His own mother had been a young mom, having him at eighteen years old once she had graduated school. He was only fifteen though. How was he supposed to take care of a baby when he was only a child too?
The ride didn't last long before the car pulled into the garage. Shouta hopped out almost as soon as the car was put into park. He ignored the calls of his name from his Aunt as he rushed into the house. His breathing picked up as he clutched at his chest. Stormie trotted over to him and stayed at his feet. Meowing softly as she rubbed her side against his leg. A broken cry left him as his body began to shake.
Not even a second later, warms wrapped around his shoulders and pulled him close. He caught Mitsuki's strong but calming scent almost immediately. "Shouta, are you pregnant?" She whispered, running her fingers through his hair. Shouta only let out another cry. The Alpha woman shushed him softly before saying, "It's okay, Shouta. We will figure this out."
"What am I going to do?" Shouta whispered through hiccups.
Mitsuki pulled away, moving until she was directly in front of him. "Whatever you want. If you want to keep this baby, me and Masaru will help you. Whatever decision you make, we will be there. I just have one question."
Shouta looked up, eyeing her for a second. "What?"
"Is the father the blue haired kid or the blonde?"
Shouta's face heated up almost instantly before he could sputter out Shirakumo's name.
"And do you remember when I found out about your finding out?"
"Sometimes I imagine I can still hear my ears ringing," Shouta smirked, and Hizashi playfully kicked against his shin under the table, almost throwing down the knife for a second round with the motion. "First thing you could think of was reserving your eternal place as Katsuki's Godfather."
"Come on. I mean I was pretty over-ripe and overdue to become a Godfather. Like the most responsible and mature Godfather in the world.
Shouta was not sure what to expect at this point. Shirakumo had been thrilled about having a baby despite their age and now they were going to be telling the last member of their trio about Baby Shirakumo.
All he knew was, he was going to have a headache by the time this was finished.
Of course, they had chosen the rooftop for this. Shouta hated the lunchroom and the roof was quiet and away from people. The last thing he needed at the moment was for gossip around the school.
Shouta ate his rice in silence as Shirakumo and Hizashi chatted excitedly with each other. If he didn't break the news soon, Hizashi was bound to figure it out on his own. If that happened, he would never hear the end of it.
"I'm pregnant." He stated courtly, followed by complete silence.
Shirakumo gawked at him with a smile on his face as Hizashi's eyes widened with his mouth falling open. The blonde Alpha blinked, clearly trying to process exactly what he had just been told.
With a one eighty, Hizashi screeched excitedly, his voice going octaves higher with the enhancement of his quirk. Shouta dropped his bowl onto the cement, clapping his hands over his ears that had already started to ring. Activating his quirk, Hizashi choked for a second before the Omega blinked to allow Hizashi to have his voice back. "Why do you have to do that every single time I tell you something?!" He snapped, finally removing his hands from his ears once the ringing ceased.
Hizashi bounced as he grinned. "I can't help it! I'm so happy for you!" The over energetic teen exclaimed, threw his arms out and brang the other two close. Shouta was exhausted just watching the excitement bubble out of the other teenager. Hizashi pulled back, looking both of them square in the face and stated, "I'm the godfather, right?"
"You bet. You were competing with Nemuri about it. You were kicking cans over my child."
"You'd have preferred tossing a coin?"
This time it was Shouta's turn to kick his husband, and Hizashi whipped his hands above his head in disbelief, more his energetic self again. Hizashi's grin softened as he leaned forward over the table, resting his cheek in his palm and twIrling threads of gold around his finger. Hizashi watched the way that Shouta looked back down at the still full plate in front of him. Today wasn't the only thing bugging his mate, the Voice hero could see it completely. Shouta was more of an open book than he would like to admit.
"What else is bothering you, Shou?" Hizashi muttered, leaning forward and reaching out until he grabbed ahold of Shouta's hand. Running his finger over the simple golden band that was around Shouta's ring finger. It had taken Shouta years to let anyone in. The blonde Alpha didn't blame him in the slightest. The Erasure Hero didn't have the easiest life. He had gone through so much in such a short time that even Hizashi was surprised that he could see Shouta smile from time to time.
Shouta's gaze moved from the table until it leveled on Hizashi's sparkling emerald eyes. The Omega shrugged, curling his fingers within Hizashi's hand, unconsciously seeking the comfort from the other man. "It's not everyday you find out that your estranged father is not only returning to the country but going to be teaching at the exact same school you teach at." Shouta muttered, pulling his hand back from Hizashi's, before muttering an excuse from the table and pushing himself away. He grabbed up his plate and rushed into the kitchen away from Hizashi's concerned gaze.
The Alpha sighed as he pushed himself from the table, grabbing his own plate, before making his way into the kitchen behind Shouta. Shouta had already put the contents of his plate into a container and was sliding it in the fridge. The blonde sat his plate on the counter and took the couple of steps until he was behind Shouta. He looped his arms around the smaller man's waist and pulled him close until he could place his chin on top of Shouta's shoulder.
"I understand how you feel but maybe give him a chance." Hizashi muttered, burying his face into the crock of Shouta's neck and shoulder until his nose ran over Shouta's scent gland. The gland producing the sweet smell of cherry blossoms and vanilla. It was a soft scent compared to Shouta's personality. "You know, you and All Might are more alike than you think."
Shouta scoffed, turning in Hizashi's arms until he could look the man in the eyes. "I'm nothing like him."
Hizashi shrugged, a small grin on his face. "If you say so."
Shouta gave a small growl as he twisted his body until he could get out of Hizashi's grip. "That man has no regard for his personal safety. You saw that for yourself five years ago." Shouta growled, the anger growing in him by the moment. His mind ventured back to the hospital when Toshinori Yagi, also known to the world as All Might, had gotten the injury that should have ended his career or his life.
Shouta's heart pounded against his chest as he rushed through the halls of the hospital. He had gotten the call from Sir Nighteye that Toshinori had been injured. His father wasn't one of those people who would just go to the hospital for something small. If Toshinori was in the hospital, Shouta knew it was bad.
This could not be happening. His mind raced as he turned the corner of the hall. Katsuki and Hizashi weren't that far behind him as he rounded another corner and stopped in mid-stride. Sir Nighteye, Gran Torino, Recovery Girl, and Nezu were all standing in the hall. Sir Nighteye's voice rang out through the halls and even Shouta froze at his words.
So his father had been gravely injured. Shouta felt like he couldn't breathe as his eyes finally settled on the large form of his father. Just from where he was standing, he could see how weak Toshinori's body was as he tried to force himself forward, how much bandages were wrapped around him. It left him in shock when he watched his father push away Nighteye but he didn't catch exactly what Toshinori had said.
This couldn't happen to him. Not again. Despite what he felt about his father. Toshinori Yagi was still his father. He needed him, rather he was in his life or not.
"Dad!" It shocked him even as his voice carried through the hall. The other five occupants each turned on their heel quickly to see him standing there. He could see the frantic look on Sir Nighteye's face.
He wasn't even sure when his body started to move forward until his arms were wrapping around Toshinori's broad body. "Shouta..." The man whispered, shakily laying a large hand over Shouta's smaller one. "I'm sorry, Shouta."
Shouta didn't know when he had started to cry. He already lost his mother, the father of his child, he refused to lose his father. "Dad, please... I heard Mirai... I heard everything." Shouta whispered, his voice shaking with every word as he forced back the tears. "He had called me when you came to the hospital. He told me about your injuries. Father, please... you can't do this anymore. You need to retire before you get yourself killed."
Toshinori took in a deep breath, grimacing from the pain that shot through him. "Shouta, I'm sorry but I have to keep going. The world needs the Symbol of Peace. I can't just leave them."
Shouta felt the anger mixing in with his mixed emotions as he held on just a bit tighter. "The world can survive without the Symbol of Peace. You aren't any good to them if you are dead!" He fought back, pulling away and rounding around his father until he stood in front of him. "You've done so much for the world already. You've made it a safer place."
Toshinori scoffed. Shouta had never seen his father without a smile on his face, yet the man stood in front of him with a pained expression. "I still am making it safer."
Shouta growled in frustration. "Why are you so damn stubborn?! You almost died! The world will still have that hope you gave them just by being alive! You can't do that if you're dead. The world might need the Symbol of Peace but I can't lose you!" Shouta yelled, the tears that he held back finally falling over his face. He looked down to the ground, his hair shielding his face as Toshinori looked up at him with wide eyes. "I don't need the Symbol of Peace... I need my father alive. I can't lose you like I lost mom. Katsuki needs you. I need you. Please..."
"I'm sorry, Shouta."
Hizashi sighed. "It wasn't always like that, Shouta."
Shouta rolled his eyes. Hizashi had always been his voice of reason but at the same time he didn't need that reasoning. At least not to him. "He spent all his time as the Symbol of Peace."
Hizashi smiled. "Of course he did cause that is who he is. I can't defend his actions against you and your mother but even you know that All Might changed the world."
Shouta sighed, letting his back hit the wall and braced his head against the wood. "I just wanted him to act like a father too. I respect my father for everything he's ever done for this world but it doesn't hurt any less knowing that he would rather be a hero than a father." Shouta whispered.
The blonde didn't say anything but rather listened as Shouta spoke to him. Shouta and his father had this love-hate relationship. He never really got to meet Toshinori other than when he and Shouta got married seven years ago. He would never understand the pain that Shouta felt when it came to his father. From what Shouta had told him, Toshinori had always been gone since he was little. The Omega remembered very little from when Toshinori stayed in Japan before his time in the United States. Shouta had been left in the care of his Aunt Mitsuki and Uncle Masaru after his mother's early demise.
Hizashi knew that Shouta respected and cared for All Might but with their clashing personalities they could hardly ever agree on the same thing. Hizashi just hoped that All Might becoming a teacher at U.A. would actually be a good thing for both his mate and his father. As well as for Katsuki too. Katsuki knew that All Might was his grandfather. The teenager admired All Might but was forbidden from telling people about their relations to each other.
Only a select amount of people knew that Shouta was even All Might's son. Of course Shouta's family, himself, Nemuri Kayama, Principal Nezu, Recovery Girl, and a few of the people that All Might had worked with in the past such as Sir Nighteye and Gran Torino. Shirakumo hadn't even known about Shouta's father. Hizashi didn't learn about him until after their time at U.A. After Shirakumo's death. Shirakumo had never had the chance to know who All Might truly was to Shouta.
Shouta was All Might's deepest secret. Hizashi understood why All Might made the choice to keep Shouta and his mother in the dark. They would just end up as targets to villains because of All Might's status within the world. At that, it would also put Katsuki into danger.
All Might had made the decision and Shouta had followed behind him. It was the only thing that Hizashi could remember that didn't end in a fight between Shouta and Toshinori. More or less, Toshinori was stubborn and so was Shouta. It constantly caused them to butt heads with each other. Toshinori is loud and eccentric compared to the quiet and closed off personality of Shouta.
Hizashi knew that Shouta cared for Toshinori. It was obvious the more he watched them interact. He had only been told about it once but Shouta had told him about the day that he had activated his quirk for the first time. It was also the first time that Shouta had ever seen a villian in action and it wasn't the last time either.
The blonde smiled, leaning against the counter with his hands braced next to him. "You remember that day when you were four? When you found out that you had Erasure?"
Shouta softly sighed. "Of course I do. I can't ever forget it."
The store was small, cozy. Shouta walked around the shelves with his hand stretched out in his father's grasp. The blonde Alpha male glanced around the clothes and grabbed a few garments. The small child paused for a moment as a small cat plushie caught his eye.
Before Shouta could say anything to his father, the shattering of glass caught his attention. His father's arms wrapped around him and the wind gushed around them as Toshinori jumped out of the way.
"ALL MIGHT!" A loud voice rang out. Shouta was now on his bottom on the ground, his eyes wide as his father stood tall in front of him and a few more of the store's occupants. Across from them was a villain.
The villain wore a large, sadistic grin on his face as he stared at the Number One hero. "Daddy..." Shouta whispered.
His father peered over his shoulder and smiled. "It's okay, Shou. I am here. Nothing will harm you or these people." The man stated, straightening his back before he jumped forward. Sending both himself and the villain out of the broken window and into the streets.
Shouta jumped up from his spot, racing towards the window. Ignoring the protests of the others within the building, he climbed out the window and into the street. The villain and his father were throwing punches back and forth. The villain couldn't land a hit on the blonde Alpha.
With a cackle, the villain leaned down to the ground and placed his hands on the ground. The ground shook and started to crack, causing All Might to lose his balance and fall to a knee.
Shouta felt like his couldn't breathe, watching as his father struggled to stand on the moving concrete around him. His father is the Number One hero, he saved everyone, beat any villain that came in his path.
In surprise, the bystanders watched as the ground ceased to move and All Might was able to get back up to his feet completely. The villain let out a growl of anger. "What happened to my quirk!" He snarled, rushing forward and sending a punch at the hero.
All Might's face was etched in shock but forced himself to focus back on the fight. "California Smash!" He yelled out, getting the hit on the villain. The force of the hit, mixed with the wind force, the villain flew through the air and hit a nearby building and slumped over unconscious.
With a smile, the hero stood tall as cheers echoed through the street. He paused as he felt the power of One for All suppress in his system. What exactly was happening to him. He turned on his heel, looking around until his gaze fell onto his Omega son.
Shouta stood not far from him, staring straight at him with eyes filled with tears. His black hair floated up into the air, defying gravity completely and his normally dark colored eyes were glowing red.
The hero walked over to the frightened child and went down to his knee so he could look his son in the eye. "Shouta, it's okay. I'm here. I'm okay." Toshinori whispered. Shouta hiccuped, throwing his arms around his father's neck. The Alpha could feel his son's hair fall and back down and his quirk returning to his body. "Let's get you home." He muttered, scooping the child up as Shouta clung to him.
"It was the first time that my father ever fought a villain in front of me." Shouta muttered. "Of course he jumped right in and saved us all."
Hizashi moved across the room, now standing directly in front of his husband with the same grin still on his face. "You remember what you told me about that day?"
"That I would never forget why my father is the hero that he is." Shouta whispered.
Hizashi smiled again, reaching out and pulling his husband into his arms. "I know that this is hard, Shou. I don't think I could ever fully understand what is going on between you and your father." He paused, taking in a deep breath as he pulled away from the ebony haired Omega. "How about we both go pick up Katsuki and go visit Shirakumo." He muttered.
Shouta bit his lip. Contemplating for a moment before finally agreeing. "Once we get him, we have to make a stop first." Shouta whispered.
"Well, let's get going. It's supposed to rain later."
X
The cemetery was quiet. Hizashi had been right about the possibility of rain. Shouta could already hear the rumbling of thunder in the distance. Katsuki stood not far from him. His normally explosive child stayed silent as he stared down at the marked grave that signified where Shirakumo laid for eternal rest.
Shirakumo "Loud Cloud" Oboro
Beloved Father, Son, and Hero
"His spirit lives within the clouds"
Fresh camellia flowers had been placed above the stone by Shouta once they had arrived. Hizashi was behind them in prayer. The grave had already been cleaned by the three of them before the flowers had been placed.
Katsuki turned on his heel until he was facing Shouta and Hizashi. Shouta gave his son a look as the Alpha teenager looked away for a moment, his face flushing almost in embarrassment. "Could you tell me the story of how he found out about me again?"
Shouta was shocked to say the least. It also wasn't odd in any way. It seemed almost every time they visited Shirakumo's final resting place, Katsuki would ask him to tell the same story. The Omega nodded before taking a seat next to the grave with Katsuki sitting down next to him.
Shouta was beyond nervous. The ultrasound in his pocket was almost burning a hole into his pocket as he paced the rooftop. Hizashi had been kept after class so he knew Shirakumo would be the only one who would end up on the roof. Forcing himself to take a couple of deep breaths, he walked around the rooftop. He picked at his sleeves as a small wave of nausea hit him.
His whole world was changing.
He could do this. It repeated in his head. The words from his aunt playing on repeat as he took in breaths to keep himself calm.
"Shouta?" The Omega took another final deep breath before he turned on his heel to face Shirakumo. The light blue cloud-like haired Alpha with sparkling blue eyes. His smile was bright enough that it could blind an entire room. Shirakumo looked at him in concern as he watched Shouta's body language. Shouta was completely tense and fidgety. "Are you okay?"
Shouta nodded. "I have something I need to tell you."
"Okay?" Shouta wasn't sure if it was a statement or a question.
Shouta sighed softly, pulling the sonogram out of his pocket but keeping it out of sight for a moment. "You remember that night at your house?"
Shirakumo cocked an eyebrow, a look of confusion covering his face. "Depends on what night? You are always at my house." The Alpha teen stated.
Shouta frowned, eyeing Shirakumo for a second. "Um.. the night we slept together."
Shirakumo smiled. "Of course. I wouldn't forget it."
The Omega bit his lip, looking to the ground. His hair fell in front of his eyes, shielding himself from Shirakumo's reaction as he raised his arm with the sonogram facing up. In clear view of Shirakumo's line of vision. "I'm pregnant."
His stomach dropped as Shirakumo didn't say anything. His heart skipped a beat as he heard a heartfelt laugh. His head shot up, spotting the large grin on Shirakumo's face almost instantly. Shirakumo rushed forward, his arms wrapping around Shouta's waist and lifting him in the air and spinning him. "Oh my god." Shirakumo whispered, setting the Omega back on the ground and burying his face in the ebony locks. "You're going to have a baby. My baby." The Alpha dropped to his knees, having to dunk slightly so his head could reach Shouta's still flat stomach. "That's my baby in there." Shirakumo's touch was light as his fingers grazed over Shouta's abdomen. The Alpha looked up at him with the grin still on his face. "I know we are so young but this baby is ours. I couldn't imagine ever having a child with someone else."
Shouta wasn't sure exactly when the tears came to his eyes until he could feel the wetness on his face. "You're an idiot." Shouta whispered, unsure of what else he could say.
Shirakumo just laughed again. "I'm an idiot with a baby on the way with the person I love most in this world." The blue haired teen whispered.
Katsuki had a small smile on his face as he looked up to the cloud covered sky. "Every year on this day, it's always cloudy. Do you think my father is with us on these days?" His voice being almost too quiet for either Shouta or Hizashi to hear.
Shouta smiled at his son. "Of course he is. Your father loved you so much." He said, reaching out and cradling the side of Katsuki's face. The blonde haired child made a noise in his throat but made no attempt to move away from the small symbol of affection.
Katsuki was right. Every year on this day, it was always cloudy. Sometimes it would storm, other times it wouldn't. It never failed to amaze him that there would always be clouds. At the same time, it didn't surprise him. Shirakumo's quirk had been Cloud. It seemed only fitting on the anniversary of his death that it would be cloudy to.
Hizashi could help but smile. "It's Shirakumo's way of telling you that he is always with you." He stated, taking a seat next to Shouta. "He was always one of those people."
Katsuki didn't say anything else but instead continued to look up to the cloudy sky. "Dad, if you want to go ahead to Grandma's grave. I'll meet you over there in a minute." The Alpha teen muttered, catching both of the men off guard.
Hizashi looked over to Shouta for a moment and nodded. "Go ahead, Shou."
Shouta didn't say a word as he got up from his spot, hesitating for a moment before he took one last look at them before walking away. Katsuki waited until the Omega was out of his line of sight before he turned his gaze onto Hizashi. "Hizashi.. I just wanted to tell you.. Thank you." The teenager whispered.
Hizashi stared at the boy in shock. "For what, Katsuki?"
Katsuki pulled his legs up to his chest, placing his chin on his knees as he looked back at his father's grave. "For being there for me and my dad when my father couldn't. Yeah, we had Aunt Mitsuki and Uncle Masaru but… you've always been there for as long as I can remember." He paused for a moment, taking in a deep breath. "I was so little when he died. I don't even remember him. All I know of him is from what you and dad tell me. I only know what he looks like because of pictures."
Hizashi gave him a soft smile. "Little listener, I will always be here for you and Shouta." The Voice hero stated. "I may not be your father but I will never regret a second of my life with you."
Katsuki scoffed. "You really think that?"
Hizashi frowned, cocking his eyebrow in confusion.
"You are the only other father I know. You raised me as your own when you didn't have too." The Alpha teen snapped, a glare leveling on Hizashi. "I know you think that you are some kind of replacement for my father but you aren't. You are my father." He paused, motioning towards the gravestone. "And so is he. When he couldn't be here, you were. Most Alphas reject children that aren't their own but you didn't."
Hizashi sighed, placing his gloved hand on Katsuki's shoulder. "Shirakumo would be so proud of you."
X
Aizawa "Rainstorm" Kasumi
Beloved Mother, Wife, Sister, Daughter, and Hero
"The rain carries her soul."
Once Shouta had arrived at his mother's grave, the first thing that he had noticed was how clean it was and the red roses sitting on the grave. His father had been here. The Omega kneeled in front of the gravestone, placing the anemone flowers he had brought next to the roses.
"Hi, mom." He whispered.
Her face flashed before his eyes as he looked down to the grass, feeling the slightest hint of raindrops hitting his revealed skin. His mother had been one of the strongest women he had ever known. She had gone to U.A. and passed the hero course to become the hero that she would become. She also spent the rest of her time when she wasn't at home as a police officer. She had done so much for the world but in the end it had taken her life.
"Mom, I'm so sorry."
It was just supposed to be a simple outing to get lunch. He had never expected for a villain to attack and his mother to spring into action. His mother was a part time pro hero under the hero name Rainstorm and also worked for the Quirk Crimes Division full time.
Kasumi faced off with the villain, using her own quirk called Thunderstorm, that had the ability to manipulate the weather into a storm and she could use the elements of a thunderstorm to her advantage.
Shouta knew in seconds that his mother was no match for the villain. He was forced to stay back by the police officers on scene as his mother continued to fight. She was knocked back by the villain and as she crashed to the ground, she looked up to the sky. It only took seconds for storm clouds to start appearing and water falling in its wake from the sky.
The villain laughed and sent out a ball of fire from his foot, catching Kasumi on the hip as she rolled off of the ground and to her feet in a kneeling position. She let out a scream of pain. Shouta tried to force the officer's arms from around him to get to her. "MOM!" He screamed, his quirk activating. The police officer freezing completely as Shouta's hair flew up into the air. The villain stopped as his gaze narrowed in on Shouta.
"YOU BRAT!" He screeched, he broke out into a run, dashing straight towards the teenager. He let out a shout as a crack of thunder boomed around them and a bolt of lightning hit the ground in front of him.
The villain turned his gaze from Shouta to Kasumi. The woman seething as she finally got to her feet. "Don't you dare lay a hand on my son." She growled, her eyes glowing a bright yellow as lightning continued to hit the ground around the villain. The lightning hitting and retracting so fast in separate areas, it acted as an electrified cage around him.
"Your son will watch you die." The villain stated, cackling as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a knife. He waited for a second for his opening before throwing the blade.
Shouta watched in horror as the blade flew through the air. Kasumi was able to move just enough that the blade lodged into the side of her neck. The teen screamed in agony as he watched his mother fall to the ground, holding at her neck. The lightning surrounding the villain ceased but the rain continued. The villain took heavy steps towards the fallen woman but as soon as he reached her body a blur flew by, knocking the villain away. Kasumi was scooped up off the ground and placed by Shouta's feet.
"No need to fear because I am here!" All Might exclaimed loudly before jumping back in action.
Shouta didn't say a word as he dropped to his knees next to his mother. His breath catching in his throat as he listened to her heavy, wet heaves. Kasumi looked at him with tear filled eyes and reached up with a shaky hand to cradle his face. "I'm so sorry, Shouta." She muttered, a trail of blood slipping from her mouth and going down his chin. She forced herself to suck in a deep breath and put a smile on her face. "I love you so much, Shouta. Never forget that." She muttered, her voice trailing off.
Shouta let out a loud cry as her hand slipped from his cheek and fell to the ground. The light left her eyes but the smile remained on her face.
Arms wrapped around his shoulders and he caught the scent of his son almost immediately. Caramel and chamomile. Shouta placed his hands on where Katsuki's wrists dangled over his shoulder and sighed. "Ready to go home? You have the entrance exam coming up soon."
Katsuki didn't say a word as he nodded and Shouta stood back up, placing his arm over Katsuki's shoulder and Hizashi took a spot next to him.

The trip home seemed a lot shorter than the trip to the cemetery had. By the time that they arrived back at their home, it was already down pouring. Stormie, Shouta's cat at the ripe age of sixteen, came running straight for Katsuki. The teen simply scooped up the cat and headed towards the family room after slipping off his shoes.
"I'll make some tea." Hizashi muttered, placing a chaste kiss on Shouta's cheek before heading towards the kitchen. Shouta just nodded and slipped off his boots and slipped on his house shoes.
Katsuki was already set up at the table in the family room with Stormie sitting in his lap and his textbooks in front of him. Stormie purred from her spot in Katsuki's lap as she looked over to Shouta with cloudy eyes. Stormie was a gift from his mother for getting into the hero course at U.A. His mother had smiled at him, congratulated him, and the next day they ended up at the animal shelter. The memory came back to his mind as if it happened yesterday.
Shouta had been accepted into U.A. and for his treat, his mother was taking him to the local pet shelter to adopt Shouta a cat. As a child, Shouta had practically everything he owned have some kind of cat on it. What better gift to get than a cat for getting into the most prestigious high school with an emitter quirk at that!?
Kasumi Aizawa, a beautiful Beta woman with flowing, shiny black hair that fell to her lower back and ruby red eyes, walked by her son through the streets until they got to the shelter. Shouta's face lit up once he saw the sign come into view.
"Mom, are you serious?!" The teen exclaimed as the two walked into the building. Both of them could already hear the soft meowing of the cats and the loud barking of the dogs within the place.
"You've always wanted a cat. This is a special occasion." Kasumi stated, smiling at the boy as they followed the woman from the front desk through the doors to get to the animals.
The woman, who led them, smiled as they got the kennels that contained the cats. "All the cats are available for adoption, aside from one because she just gave birth to kittens so we are keeping her and the kittens together." She said as she stood off towards the side so Shouta could look at the cats.
The teen was silent as he moved around, looking at the small felines until he stopped at one particular kennel. Inside was a small cat with a cut over its nose. The feline was a slick grey color, the shade of thunderclouds, with strips of black. Its eyes were a bright ocean blue. The feline laid in the back of the kennel, it's small face covered in disinterest.
Kasumi came up behind the teen, her heels clicking on the floor with each step that echoed through the room. "Is this one the one you want, Shou?" She questioned, watching as her son visibly snapped out of his stupor to look at her with a small smile on his face. With a nod of confirmation, Kasumi turned to the woman and smiled. "We will adopt this little guy."
The woman had to force a smile on her face once she noticed which cat they were implying. "Are you sure? Stormie is pretty... mean."
Shouta frowned at the woman, how she carelessly rejected the cat. His gaze moved back to the feline, watching as the hairs on its back as the woman came into its line of sight. "This is the one I want." Shouta stated, his voice lacing with venom as he turned to glare at the woman. He didn't utter another word to the woman as he reached for the latch.
The woman said a couple words of protest but both Shouta and Kasumi ignored her as he unlatched the kennel and the cat eyed him for a second. Shouta kept his hand out, giving the cat a second. Stormie, the feline, stood up on its paws and stood a couple of hesitant steps towards Shouta's outreached hand. The feline's eyes flicked between the hand and Shouta's face before finally letting its head touch Shouta's skin.
Shouta smiled and muttered, "Welcome to the Aizawa clan, Stormie."
A small smile came to his face as he took a seat on the couch, kicking his legs up beside him and watching Katsuki work on his homework. The blonde teen scratched at the cat's neck mindlessly, moving the shiny, multi colored collar around her neck. The same collar that had been around Stormie's neck since before Katsuki was born.
Shouta and his father wanted to meet at a near-by café from UA High where Shouta could easily walk over after school. His father had dropped everything at his son's phone call and promised five-fold to be on time. He was ten minutes late, and if Shouta had already been on low spirits, his mood was now diving below sea-level. When his father finally entered the café, Shouta didn't bother to rise from his seat for a welcome. He had made sure not to sit too close to the table so as to not obscure the view on today's subject.
Settling himself on the opposite chair, Yagi was quite at a loss for words. Whether this stemmed from the meeting in general, which on top of it Shouta had requested on his own device, or from his clear signs of pregnancy, Shouta couldn't fathom. His mind was preoccupied with reciting the advice his aunt and uncle had sent him along with. Honestly, just now, to stay calm and relaxed, and not to panic were a bitch to do. Their coolheaded words, as expected, affected only small wonders. Shouta was tempted to simply shout out his disappointment over his dad and turn on the heel. But then, he would disappoint Mitsuki and Masaru. Spill it what you gotta say, old man. Say what a disappointment of a son I am and let me leave, Shouta thought to himself, crossing his arms before his chest.
Yagi scratched at the back of his head, his thick, muscled arm showing off through the wrinkle-less sleeve of his disgusting, gold-coloured suit screaming at its seams. "Honestly, I wasn't expecting you to call me. And then to even suggest a meeting." Shouta hated how his father was obviously dancing around the point.
Say it already; don't drag this out more than necessary. Shouta thought.
"I tried to contact you at your birthday, but you wouldn't take up, so," his father dug out a small box wrapped in Shouta's favourite colour, "here. It's only a little something, but I've saved it until an occasion to give it to you."
He was shocked. Shouta was purely, whole-heartedly shocked. He accepted the late birthday present from the other man. The nearest gesture to fatherly affection Shouta had ever seen from him. Now, it was Shouta's turn searching for words. Just a moment ago, he had been ready to reproach Yagi for all the things he had been missing out on as a father. Accordingly, had Shouta planned to let him miss out on his grand-child - hadn't it been his aunt and uncle. But, now, all that energy, that rage, had drained away from him, leaving Shouta with the smallest hint of self-loath. How in the world could his father erase all the hate and the blame that Shouta had been holding and nourishing for so long a time? And that, with just a single blow, Carolina Smash-style. Wasn't Shouta supposed to be the legitimate holder of the Erasure Quirk?
Slowly, warily, Shouta unwrapped the package and brought forth a collar for cats. Into the material were embroidered the letters for Stormie.
"You remembered her name," Shouta mumbled, aghast. Surprised.
"Now that hurt," Yagi beamed, not showing if Shouta's off-hand remark had indeed hit him. Shouta considered congratulating him for this guess-landed bullet, but then, why waste his rare energy he now even had to share? For anyone to see, could one well-landed shot never make up for all those that had missed their aim and hit Shouta's heart like ricochets.
"Wasn't supposed to be anything else." When Shouta stared back up from the measly attempt at a common denominator, his eyes were emotionless, not letting his inner turmoil shine through. After all these years of being a disappointment, a poor excuse of a father, he did neither have any words of apology for his son to spare nor any consolation. Just a small, meagre trinket for Shouta's pet whose name he had just happened to remember. If his father had thought that the weaving of the idiosyncratic colours of All Might's persona into the collar was an abstruse way of bonding with his son, then Shouta would have to break it to him. He was greatly mistaken. "By the way, I'm having a child. In case you didn't notice."
"Actually, I did-"
"Isn't that hard to miss." Yagi was visibly discouraged by his son's sharp respite and nothing of the man who had been revolting so vehemently against Shouta's leaving him to live with aunt and uncle.
"You're some time in already," the father remarked clumsily."I guess the practical part of the Hero Course is getting difficult?"
"You guessed correctly," Shouta sneered.
The collar was worn by this point and the colors weren't as bright as before. The gift from Toshinori is actually one of his most prized possessions. Since the day he had received it, he had never taken it off of Stormie. He had been so mean to his father back then but at the same time, the man rightly deserved it in his eyes.
His father had been right though. The hero course had been hard on him during his pregnancy with Katsuki. Principal Nezu had fought to keep him in the hero course. The Beta mammal stated that Omegas shouldn't be punished in their schooling for their body's natural urges. He was supposed to be on a mild heat suppressant that had birth control but it had failed for him. He had been on the pill version before his pregnancy but after Katsuki was born, Mitsuki had him placed on the shot version so he wouldn't forget to take it. It had been his fault, he constantly forgot to take them but with the remaining suppressants that had been in his system at the time, he had never experienced a full blown heat. He never even knew he had been in heat that night which had sent Shirakumo into a rut.
After he had found out about Katsuki, he had to notify not only the principal but his homeroom teacher. His homeroom teacher had shockingly been supporting him throughout his pregnancy. U.A. had the lowest rates of teenage pregnancy within their school but it wasn't as uncommon as some people thought. Mostly, it had been the Omegas. It was rare that one would be in the hero course and remain in the hero course. If it hadn't been for his teacher agreeing to keep him in class, he would have been kicked out to general studies. No school wanted to be responsible for an Omega or even a Beta losing their child because they didn't take precaution.
His class had been notified of his pregnancy and if he were in a combative class, they were banned from hitting anywhere near his stomach. The more he started to show, he ended up being a class assistant instead during practical training. He had been given extra lessons and courses after his pregnancy to catch back up to his classmates. On his own, he also worked more on himself so he could get back to where he was before.
He was pulled out of his thoughts as Hizashi came into the room with three cups of tea balanced perfectly in his hands. The Voice hero smiled at him as he placed one down by Katsuki's work, handed one to him, before taking a place on the couch with his own.
Shouta continued to watch his son. Katsuki knew that his grandfather was back in town. The first day that Toshinori had been back, Katsuki had been captured by a Sludge villain and ended up almost blowing up an alleyway. If it hadn't been for his father, Katsuki would have ended up as a meat suit for that villain. They had only seen Toshinori a couple of times since then. The Number One hero dropped by a few times but was only able to stay for a little bit of time. From what he knew, his father had been staying at Shouta's childhood home that he shared with Kasumi.
His father looked worse for wear since he had last seen him since the injury. He knew he had been petty about it. His father refused to retire and Shouta refused to watch it. Hizashi always told him how stubborn they both were to each other. He wasn't wrong.
It scared him seeing his father now. Toshinori now coughed up blood constantly, especially after going into his muscle form that the world knew as All Might. His entire body appeared like a skeleton with skin stretched over it. His father told him that he had the max of three hours a day to do hero work before his body would give out. Shouta kept telling him that he needed to retire because of the shape of his body.
It terrified him to know that Toshinori could end up just like Shirakumo.. His mother.. They had given their lives to protect others. It would be a noble death in the world's eyes but after everything that Toshinori has done, he deserved to relax with the remainder of his life. Yet, Toshinori wanted to keep going. His father is definitely a hero through and through. That much was obvious.
A knock on their door caused the three of them to look to each other. Shouta frowned. He wasn't expecting anyone at the moment. He knew Nemuri would be coming by later after Hizashi left to do his radio show since it was Friday night but it was too soon for her. She was currently on patrols.
Shouta pushed himself off of the couch and went to the door. He took in a deep breath before opening it up and freezing completely. Standing on the other side was his father smiling sheepishly at him. "Hi, Shouta."
"What are you doing here?" Shouta questioned, the annoyance already coming to his face.
Toshinori shrugged. "I know what today is, I just wanted to see how you and Katsuki were doing."
Shouta sighed, hearing Hizashi's words from earlier ringing in his head. He stepped out of the way and motioned for the blonde to enter the home. "It's been a while. Want some tea, Zashi made some." Shouta said, unsure of what to say.
Toshinori nodded. "I would love some." He paused, biting his lip for a second. "Where is Katsuki?"
Shouta motioned towards the family room. "Working on his homework." Shouta excused himself to the kitchen and hurried to make his father a cup of tea. He sighed. This was the last thing he had expected for the day. He would have thought that his father would be out fighting crime, not showing up at his doorstep. He wouldn't even be surprised if his father had left out of the blue to go fight a villain.
The Omega carefully carried the cup with him back into the family room. Toshinori had taken the armchair that Shouta kept in his house just for the blonde Alpha. Toshinori gave a quiet thank you as he took the cup from Shouta and took a sip. "Delicious as always, Yamada-kun." Toshinori stated, his normal grin plastered on his face.
"Thanks, Yagi-san." Hizashi replied.
Hizashi and Toshinori were quick to enter into a conversation as Shouta laid his head down onto the arm of the couch. He felt his eyes slipped shut before a string of wet coughs caused him to shoot his head up. Looking over to Toshinori, his father was clutching at his chest with a handkerchief in front of his mouth as he coughed.
Once Toshinori managed to settle the coughing fit, he whispered a quick apology. Shouta didn't miss how much blood down stained the fabric in Toshinori's hand. It was more than unsettling. "Father, you're overdoing it again aren't you?" Shouta growled.
The sly smile that Toshinori now wore told Shouta all he needed to know. It hadn't taken Shouta long to discover that the more Toshinori used his quirk, the more blood he would cough up later. "I'm okay, Shouta."
Shouta growled. "Of course you're not. You are coughing up blood!" He paused, sending a glare towards Toshinori. "This is exactly why both me and Mirai told you to retire five years ago. Look at you!"
Toshinori sighed. "I can't, Shouta. You know that."
Shouta wasn't able to say anything else when Katsuki rounded to look at them with a heated glare. "I'm trying to fucking work here! Stop with the damn fighting already. It happens every. Single. Time." Katsuki yelled, turning back to his textbook once Shouta and Toshinori looked away. "Why can't you guys just sit together for once. This fighting shit is getting old." Katsuki muttered in annoyance.
Toshinori scratched the back of his head as the smile returned to his face. "I didn't mean to start a fight today of all days. I just wanted to be here to support you." Toshinori stated.
Shouta sighed. "No, it's my fault. I should know by now that you will always still be the stubborn man I've known all my life." The Omega stated, going back to lean his head on the couch. With his head leaning down, he missed the way that Toshinori smiled fondly at him.
Before he knew it, he was fast asleep.

Shouta grumbled as he felt his shoulder being shook. He cracked his eyes open and groaned, the little bit of light casting a light on the person. Hizashi smiled down at him and whispered, "Everyone fell asleep. I have to go, Nemuri just got here." The blonde whispered.
Shouta sat up a little and looked around. Hizashi was right. Katsuki's head was leaning against his textbook with Stormie still in his lap. A blanket had been thrown over his shoulder, most likely by Hizashi. Toshinori was curled up in the armchair also with a blanket thrown over him. Shouta looked down at his legs to see that he also had a blanket over his legs.
Nemuri lounged on the opposite end of the couch, casually scrolling through her phone. If today's date ever fell on a Friday, Nemuri would come stay the night at their house since Hizashi would be gone at the radio station. The woman looked over and smiled at him. "Well good morning, sunshine." She said quietly.
Shouta groaned as he forced himself to sit up. "I need to get Katsuki to bed." He muttered, finally getting off of the couch and shaking his son awake. Katsuki grumbled but opened his eyes. "Go to bed, Katsuki."
Katsuki didn't say a word as he stood up, picking up Stormie with him and started towards his room with the blanket still on his shoulders.
Once the door clicked shut behind him, Shouta sighed and turned to face Hizashi. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to go to sleep."
Hizashi just smiled and shook his head. "It's fine, Shou. You needed your sleep."
Shouta looked back over to his father. Toshinori looked peaceful, soft snores leaving him as his chest rose and fell in sync with his sleep. "He's still here."
"He didn't want to just leave without saying goodbye. He ended up crashing around the time Nemuri got here." Hizashi replied. "Now off to bed with you too. I love you, Shou."
"I love you too, Hizashi." Shouta muttered, falling back onto the couch.
"I meant the bedroom." Hizashi laughed. Shouta just shrugged and brought the blanket up to his shoulders. Nemuri let out a soft laugh as she settled her hand on Shouta's ankle.
"You know how stubborn he is. Get to the station, Hizashi." Nemuri said, kicking her own feet onto the couch and slipping underneath the free part of Shouta's blanket.
"I'm fine right here." Shouta whispered.
Hizashi couldn't help but think it was because of Toshinori being there. Despite the apparent bad blood, Shouta still sought the comfort and warmth that radiated off of his father. At least, it was a step closer. Hizashi leaned down, placing a soft kiss to Shouta's lips before heading out towards the station.
Shouta would be fine. That much he knew.
