No Princess

Hinata was out in the forest picking berries while humming.

She was a beauty in nature.

Everyone loved her and wanted her all for themselves.

But there was one person she wanted. Her dream prince. And by that she was dreaming of just about any guy who could sweep her off her feet.

"Hinata?!" It was her friend Naruto. A regular guy after the heart of a princess. And by princess she and her "sister" were the daughters of the mayor.

"Hello. Good morning Naruto. How goes your plan to get past Sasuke to ask out Sakura? Or Ino?" Hinata asked.

Naruto laughed. "On hold for the moment. Just found out that Prince Gaara is coming down to pick a bride from one of the girls here." Naruto said.

Naruto's father was of royal blood but Naruto lived here with Hinata to protect her. She was sent away because her cousin was trying to kill her to take her own throne. Naruto ran with her to keep her safe.

"A prince is coming here?" Hinata asked. This was news for sure. If a prince was coming she really needed to stay out of site.

"I know. Sakura was going all crazy about it. Ino too. Sasuke and I agree that it's no big deal but the girls outranked us." Nartuo said. Sasuke was also a prince but one that had no kingdom. He traveled a lot so the while world was his kingdom.

"So, really the princesses are inviting him here to pick one of them?" Hinata clarified.

Naruto sighed. "Looks that way. But the thing is he has a brother and sister. So we may need to leave for another village after this. If that's the case." Naruto said.

Hinata nodded. "Right. Have to keep my cousin from finding me." She said.

Naruto sighed. "I'll head back. Talking to Sasuke about the details will give me more information. I'll come back and get you." Naruto said. He ran off and Hinata waved goodbye to him. She really hoped she wouldn't have to leave.

Gaara couldn't believe his brother and sister thought this would be a good idea. "We'll be arriving soon. Just in time for lunch." Kankuro said.

Gaara sighed. "Why do I have to go meet these girls and pick one to be my wife?" He asked.

"Gaara. I've said this before. If you don't pick one of these girls we have chosen, and that's been almost a hundred of them now, dad will force you to marry who HE picks." Temari said.

Gaara hated this. "These are the last two?" He asked. Temari nodded. "After this we go home. And dad will have you a bride waiting."

Gaara hated this. "Look on the bright side. You'll have the chance to look at other girls around the place and possibly pick them." Kankuro said that. But Temari's glaring said something else. "It has to be that of royal blood." This was one trip Gaara wished was over soon.

They arrived just in time. As the carriage stopped, the door swung open and there stood two lovely girls and a man.

"Welcome. Prince Gaara. Prince Kankuro. And Princess Temari. I am Sasuke. Guard to the two princesses you see before you." Sasuke spoke.

"I am princess Sakura."

"And I am the lovely princess Ino."

Both girls made a good impression. But only on looks. When they spoke, Gaara lost interest.

"A pleasure to meet you and to be here to see you." Gaara said bowing.

"Wait for me." Shouted a voice in the far distance.

Looking over, all six saw Naruto chasing after a smiling and laughing Hinata.

Sasuke and the girls scoffed. Temari and Kankuro ignored them.

But Gaara, he was impressed by her. Hinata wasn't like a lady. She was a REAL and TRUE princess of any land. Of the whole world really.

"Baby brother." Kankuro called him.

Gaara nodded and headed inside with the others. Slowly watching the pretty girl disappear.

"Brother. Come on. We have a meeting." Temari said.

Gaara nodded and sat down. The meeting was pretty much them talking about their stay here. And him possibly marrying one of the ladies.

Gaara wasn't interested in either of them. They were like every other princess or lady he's already seen.

Once the meeting was over they were offered to explore or go to their rooms.

Gaara on the other hand, went to the gardens.

He loved looking at the beauty of nature.

Than she was there. The beautiful maiden.

"Oh. Hello." She spoke to him.

"Hello. I am-"

"I know who you are." She said. "You can call me Hina." She said.

"Hina. What a lovely name. The very essence of nature itself."

"Herself. Nature is a lady." Hinata said.

"Right. Do you live here as well?" He asked.

"Yes. I love just out there. By the river. My friend and roommate Naruto loves to fish." She said.

"Interesting. I'll have to come and watch. Where I'm from there isn't any water." He told her.

"And there's no flowers either from what I hear." She says.

"Right." He chuckled.

"I have to go."

"Will I see you again soon, Hina?" He asked.

The girl paused, but with a smile, "Sure. I'll meet you here again, Lord Gaara." She said. "But I have to tell you, I am no lady who will sit and be a pretty trophy." She said.

"Understandable. I would rather not be the same way." He told her.

They smiled one last time before she vanished again.

"Hianta. Who was- Were you just talking to-"

"Naruto. Do me a favor, and shut up." Hinata said with a bright red face. She felt so normal with him. It was so...right.

Gaara went to bed with a smile on his face. "What's up with you?" His older brother asked.

"I think I met her." He said. "The one I shall marry." She may not be a princess, but she was just...perfect.
