It was a bright and sunny day and Lola and Lana were spending it playing in Mr. Grouse's yard, and also annoying him. "Stop playing... in my yard!" he yelled at the twins.
"Oh, we're not playing in your yard, Mr. Grouse, we're playing in our yard and at the playground," Lola told him. "We're just using your yard as a walkway."
"No offense, but your yard gargles tartar sauce," Lana told him.
"Well, pick one, and leave my yard out of it!" Mr. Grouse yelled.
"Oh, oh, oh, oh!" Lana yelled. "I'm good at choosing! Hmmmm... let's play in... our yard! No! The playground! Errr... Lola!" She then started to sob, "I'm terrible at choosing!"
"I choose Lana..." Mr. Grouse began by carrying Lana, "to play at the playground..." and then he carried Lola and said, "and Lola to play in the twins' yard. And nobody..." he continued, and drew a rectangle around his house, "in here!" Then he left.
"Lola!" Lana yelled, attempting to run around her boundary.
"Lana!" Lola yelled, attempting to do the same thing.
"Lola!"
"Lana!"
"Lola!"
"Lana!" Lola yelled, reaching for the road. She then gasped, "The road!" She then attempted to cross the road, but there was too much traffic. "Lana!" she yelled. "What are we gonna do?"
"I'll mail myself to our house!" Lana suggested after noticing that the post office was close to the playground. She then climbed into the mailbox, which tipped over and exploded.
"Sit tight, Lana!" Lola called. "I'm coming to get you!" She then tied her hands around the mailbox and flung herself to Lana. "No!" she yelled.
"Hey, Lola," Lana greeted.
"Hey, Lana," Lola greeted back before flinging back to her house. "Lana!" she yelled. "Call me!"
"Okay!" Lana responded. Then Lana went up the slide as Lola went inside the Loud House. Then Lana grabbed her phone and dialed Lola's number.
Lola's phone then rang, and Lola answered it by saying, "Lola Loud speaking."
"What are we gonna do?!" Lana asked.
"Hmmmm..." Lola wondered. "Have we ever dug a tunnel between our house and the playground?"
"No," Lana responded. The twins then started to put on digging gear and started digging tunnels underground. One of the tunnels said, In the Loud House. Lana then stuck her head through a hole and reached to Lola. "Lola?" she asked.
"Lana?" Lola asked.
"We did it!" they both yelled.
"Tag!" Lola yelled. "You're it!" Both twins then ran through a hole and started playing tag.
"Tag!" Lana yelled. "You're it!"
"Tag!" Lola yelled. "You're it!"
"Tag!" Lana yelled. "You're it!"
Back on the surface, Mr. Grouse was napping on his couch.
"Peek-a-boo!" Lola giggled. "I see you!"
Lana then laughed.
Mr. Grouse then woke up, fluffed his pillow, and then went back to sleep.
"You're it!" Lola yelled.
"You're it!" Lana yelled. With that, both twins laughed.
Mr. Grouse then ripped his pillow with his head and got some Jello. "Must... block... out... noise!" he yelled as he put the Jello on his head and sat down.
"Knock knock!" Lana giggled.
"Who's there?" Lola asked.
"I don't know!" Lana responded. Then both twins started laughing.
Mr. Grouse then got angry and the Jello melted off his head. He went outside and said, "I thought I told you two to stay off my..." He then noticed his yard was empty and said, "yard." Then he heard a laugh coming from the playground, so he yelled, "Lana!" He then went up the slide and said, "Lana, would you shut...?" He then noticed the slide was empty. "Where is she?" Mr. Grouse suddenly asked. He then heard another laugh. "Lola, I am trying to..." He then opened the kitchen door and said, "sleep?" He then heard another laugh. He headed upstairs. He opened the bathroom door. Then he opened the twins' bedroom door. Then he opened the roof door. "Aha!" he yelled, before seeing Cliff. "Hey, Cliff," he suddenly said.
Cliff then meowed in response.
"Where are those two morons?" Mr. Grouse asked. Then some flowers giggled and Mr. Grouse uprooted them. Then he heard more laughter and becomes scared out of his wits. He stomped on the ground and yelled, "Where are they?!"
Lola then giggled, "Ooh! Lana, check out these roots!"
"They're dancing!" Lana smiled.
"Do like the roots do, and do the Dirt Dance, baby!" Lola cheered as the twins do a dance that caused the ground to shake, and then Mr. Grouse's house sank.
"Mr. Grouse's house wants to play too!" Lana smiled.
"My house!" Mr. Grouse yelled, climbing through the roof hatch and grumbled angrily.
"Awww," Lola said. "Mr. Grouse's house looks like it has an upset tummy."
"Must've been something it ate," Lana said, when Mr. Grouse came out the door.
"It ate Mr. Grouse!"
Lana then mumbled, "That'll do it."
Mr. Grouse sighed, "You two reprobates were behind this."
"Yeah!" Lola smiled. "We're reprobates!"
"That was an insult."
"And we're insulted!" Lana smiled.
"Why were you digging under my yard?"
"You told us not to walk on your yard, so, we walked under it," Lola told him.
"But you buried my house!"
"No need to thank us," Lana smiled.
"Thank you!"
"You're welcome."
"ARGGHH!" Mr. Grouse yelled, attempting to get Lana, but she ran away.
"Missed," Lana told him.
"Somebody wants to play Tag!" Lola smiled.
"Tag!" Lana smiled. "You're it!" She then ran off.
"Not it!" Lola yelled.
Mr. Grouse then growled and chased them.
"Whee!" Lana giggled.
Mr. Grouse then grabbed them and dragged them back. "Mr. Grouse wins!" Lola cheered.
"Now, you're gonna play a new game called Digging Out My House!" Mr. Grouse yelled.
"Oh boy!" Lola smiled as the twins grabbed some gear.
"And I'm gonna play Sit and Relax until you're finished," Mr. Grouse said before closing the door. "Darn kids," he said as he sat down. Lana then broke the window and threw some dirt. Lola then knocked on the roof and then it collapsed. Then Lola blocked Mr. Grouse's door. "Lola!" Mr. Grouse yelled as he opened the door.
"Hi, Mr. Grouse!" Lola greeted as dirt came rushing through the house and the window.
Mr. Grouse then growled at Lola.
"Yuh oh!" Lola said, a little worried.
"I'm warning you; If you don't put my house back where it belongs by the count of three," he began, raising three fingers, "I am going to grind you into a pie! One!"
"AAH!" Lana shrieked. "He's counting, anything but counting! Quick, Lola! Dig for your life!"
"Two!" Mr. Grouse continued.
"He's already at number two!" Lana said with fear. "Who knows how many numbers we have until he reaches three?"
"Three!" Mr. Grouse yelled.
"AAH!" the twins shrieked. They started digging very fast while Mr. Grouse was chasing them, grumbling angrily. Many buildings collapsed because of the digging. Even the Loud House got sunk.
"Yes!" Lindsey Sweetwater cheered. "Now I will win a pageant for once other than that Lola Loud!" Then her house sank underground. "Nuts," Lindsey suddenly said.
Back to the chase, Lola and Lana are stopped because a rock was in the way. "Must dig!" Lola yelled. She then started to whine, "The rock's too hard!"
With that, Mr. Grouse came towards them. "AAH!" the twins shrieked.
Mr. Grouse was gasping and breathing, and then said, "You... two... morons... sunk my house!"
"We're sorry!" the twins said together.
"I'm gonna..." Mr. Grouse began as he heard a rumbling noise. "Uh oh," he said. The ground was shaking and the whole town fell underground.
The next day, Lola smiled, "Ah!" She saw the whole town digging. "Good morning, Mr. Grouse!" she smiled as she saw her neighbor. "Another beautiful day under Royal Woods!"
Mr. Grouse then picked up his gear and said, "I hate neighbors."
THE END!
