BURSTS OF SPEED
MOBIUS 17: ENEMIES
Ivo Robotnik, born Julian Kintobor, also known as 'the Eggman'. Leader of the Robotnik Regime, the evil force that is attempting to gain total control over the world that is known as Mobius. And the worst part is, he is very well on his way to succeed. Or it would have if it wasn't for a small but determined and skilled group of Freedom Fighters. However, today, luck was on the side of the evil dictator.
He had just entered a room with high tech security, so no one would be able to get out or in without him knowing. In said room, in a spherical forcefield, the object of the Doctor's frustrations, Sonic the hedgehog, floated. Nowhere to run or escape through, he was utterly trapped. This delighted the doctor. "All comfy in the forcefield prison? I made it especially to contain you."
Sonic however, didn't look like he was in panic. He looked bored if anything. "The service in this place suck, I'd like to speak to the manager." Sonic joked.
Robotnik growled. The blue teenage rapscallion couldn't be bothered to take things seriously. He knew the hedgehog was brash, not stupid, and should realize what type of trouble he was in. "Still haven't run out of jokes, haven't you? Another one of your juvenile traits." Eggman then suddenly chuckled darkly. "But You know, as much as those jokes and childish traits of yours annoy me, it is not the reason I hate you as much as I do?"
Sonic grinned. "Then is it because you're jealous of my good looks?"
Robotnik started to really get peeved. "No, you insolent whelp. I have no reason to envy you, because you are just a footnote. You are not the smartest freedom fighter like your little two tailed fox kit or your princess girlfriend. You are just a slightly faster and stronger then average Mobian. You really want to know why I hate you?"
Sonic sighed. "You are just going to tell me anyways, won't you?"
"Your attitude...Most people fear me, as the unstoppable conqueror whom owes three quarter of this planet. Whether they are ally or foe, they respect me and thread carefully. But you...you act like this is a game. You act in such a way that your so called victories are easier then they are. You openly mock and disrespect me...and people as a result become less afraid of me. You fill them with false hope that I can and will be defeated. You have become the face of the rebellion, a symbol that unites the people. I SHOULD BE THAT SYMBOL! It is I, through my actions whom will unite this divided world. My face should be the symbol of a perfect, orderly and united world, not yours! I broke a lot of eggs to make my omelette, sure, but in the end it would be so worth it." Robotnik said, with each sentence he raised his voice and pouring more anger into it.
Sonic just chuckled like Robotnik had told him a good joke.
This seemed to both baffle and anger Robotnik. "What is so funny now, Hedgehog?"
"You are even more pathetic then I thought, and I already thought you were pretty pathetic. You see, I may think high of myself. I'm a cool, handsome free-spirited adventurer, and I think I'm pretty powerful. But I would also readily admit I'm flawed. I can be cocky, brash, arrogant and rush into things without thinking through. And that's fine. We are all different, with our good and bad sides, and that flawedness is what makes us beautiful." Sonic said. His words would have sounded inspring to anyone else, but they sounded demeaning to the mad doctor.
Sonic continued as he pointed at Robotnik: "You, you are the exact opposite of that. While I can see the best in everyone, you saw the entire world as a big ugly place without seeing the true ugly monster you are within. You decided the world sucked, you decided that it was because of anyone else and threw a tantrum. You then decided out of the blue that you had to be the one in control and decide just because you didn't like how things were. Me being not afraid of you, that is NOT part of my act. I really have nothing to fear of you because I know what a sad little man you really are. If you weren't such a cruel bastard, I'd almost pity you."
This really sent Robotnik over the edge as he was now screamig in Sonic's face, and only the fact there was a forcefield between them is the reason Sonic wasn't covered in spit as Robotnik about spat out his next few words: "Pity? PITY? Let's see whom is to pity when I'm done with you. I am going to keep your prisoner in here, and I'm going to break you, and show your broken remains to the rest of the world, kiling all their hope, and forcing them to submit to me."
Sonic tapped his chin. "I dunno, you haven't managed to harsh my mellow even a little. You are not doing a very good job of it if you ask me. Speaking of jobs, my friends will break me out. And then you are the one who will break, like Humpty Dumpty falling off the wall."
Robotnik just chuckled darkly. "You keep saying that to yourself, hedgehog...Even if they would manage to enter this facility, they would never leave it alive."
Sonic grinned in return. "I am saying it to YOU now. And once again, you are underestimating my friends. I may be the face of the rebellion as you said. But my friends are everything else me and the world need them to be."
Robotnik knew the hedgehog was right as soon as the alarm sounded in the base, an intruder alert filling the air. "What? But this base was supposed to be impenetrable!"
"Looks 'penetrable to me!" Sonic said as the forcefield faltered and Sonic was released. "Thank you, Nicole." he then stretched his legs. "Now, Eggbelly, we are going to do this the easy way, or the hard way? I know which one you are going to pick, but it won't change a thing."
"I hate you, hedgehog!" Robotnik said as he pushed a button on his wristband, probably to summon his next mechanical monstrosity to try and take the hedgehog down with.
"I hate you too, Eggman!" Sonic said. "Me and everyone else."
