Catwoman and Black Crow: Black-clad animal-themed superheroes.

Chapter 1: The rebirth of two superheroes.

(This, ladies and gentlemen, is my first Catwoman fanfiction. And it's an AU story in which the legend of the crow took place in the same chronological timeline as the Catwoman movie. This is the prequel to my primary fanfiction series, "Black Crow: The Messenger Of God." Enjoy!)

On the shore a few kilometers from the Hedare R&D laboratory in New York City, Patience Phillips is revived from death by an Egyptian Mau cat, thus giving her a cat's abilities.

Meanwhile, in another part of New York City, a crow struck by lightning revives a dead 19-year old religious teenager who was just murdered by his estranged biological father.

The teenager is David Francis Shrute, a budding costume designer.

When he wakes up, he finds out he has lost his memory.

The same crow that was struck by lightning appears in front of David, completely unscathed.

The crow communicates to David in a manner he understands, having studied crow communication for seven weeks.

The crow flies off to escort David to his old home and David follows it.

When David opens the door, he finds it to be abandoned, except for the things left behind.

Namely a working refrigerator, a working stove, lots of kitchen utensils, digital clocks, a nice king-sized bed, a couch the size of the prop from The Big Comfy Couch, a flat-screen Verizon TV, a PS2, a PS3, a PS4, a DVD player, a VCR, lots of video tapes, lots of DVDs, lots of PlayStation video games, and lots of food.

David looked on top of the bed to see his black cat, Ebony.

As soon as Ebony spots her old owner, she meows in shock.

When David starts petting Ebony, he receives a flashback playing in his eyes.

In the flashback, David sees himself and his mother, Candice Ortiz-Shrute, preparing to go out to see his grandmother, Eleanor Ortiz.

Then, all of a sudden, they receive the news that David's father, Elijah Francis Shrute, had just been released from prison, but on strict parole.

"Mom, what are we gonna do?" David asked his mother Candice.

"We're gonna have to be extra careful tonight. If your father makes a move, we won't be able to make it out alive." Candice replied.

With that, Candice called her brother Martin Ortiz, an NYPD officer, and asked him to make sure that he watches her and David as they go to his grandmother's apartment and when they go back home a few hours afterwards.

When Martin asks why, Candice tells her about the situation with Elijah being released from prison and she's worried Elijah might try to make a move.

Martin tells his little sister that the next time Elijah comes after her or David, he'll make sure he never gets released from prison ever again.

And, with that, Candice hangs up, and she and David walk out the door.

When the flashback ends, David immediately realizes that he has the power of Tactile Telepathy.

David spots an old trunk full of photos.

He finds a photo of a baby boy on the day of his birth and touches the picture.

He immediately sees a flashback of that day, and instantly remembers that that day was the day of his birth.

In an instant, David remembers that his parents gave him his name.

At the same time, he remembers his parents' names, Elijah Francis Shrute and Candice Ortiz.

David finds a picture of his parents two years after David's birth and touches it.

He sees another flashback and watches in horror as his father tries to hit David's mother after some argument about whether or not David should be going to school goes wrong.

Elijah yells at Candice, saying for the last time that sending their young son to his first school was a bad idea.

Elijah claims that if David goes to school, David would end up growing up the way Elijah grew up, with autism, Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome, a short temper, a long list of allergies, vision impairments, limited understanding of humor and sarcasm, and very flawed friends.

Candice yells back, saying that while it's true David might have flawed friends, he'll still have friends nevertheless.

Elijah takes a baseball bat in his hands, yelling that he had enough of Candice telling him how to raise David.

Candice's brother, NYPD Officer Martin Ortiz, comes in to find his sister about to be attacked by her recently revealed abusive husband.

Martin had come to spend some time with young David, but after seeing his sister about to be attacked and likely killed, his job and instincts as a police officer and a big brother kicked in.

Martin drew out his gun and shot Elijah in his right shoulder.

Elijah collapses onto the floor as Martin beats him up and then puts on the handcuffs.

After word got out, Elijah was fired from his job, his accounts were seized, his parents and his whole family disowned him, and Candice had to explain everything to David after he woke up.

Meanwhile, at the local police station, Elijah was put into a prison cell with 24-hour supervision and high security.

In his prison cell, Elijah vowed to get his revenge.

But he said it in his thoughts, knowing that the cameras can record everything he says and everything he does.

The flashback ends as David gasps in horror.

"I can't freakishly believe it! My father is abusive." David exclaims in disgust.

Meanwhile, at Patience Phillips' apartment…

The recently resurrected art designer made it back to her apartment.

After looking at her reflection in the window to her apartment, she was horrified to see what a mess she currently was.

Then, she smashed the window to her apartment, she immediately showered, changed her clothes and set up a makeshift bed on a high shelf.

Next thing you know, Patience fell asleep pretty fast.

Meanwhile, back at David Shrute's apartment…

After maybe fifteen minutes of remembering all the things he forgot about from his past, David reached to a final picture and touched it.

He instantly saw the flashback play out in front of him.

David and his mother were walking home from Eleanor Ortiz's house to discuss David's summer job the following year.

Then, all of a sudden, Elijah Shrute came out of nowhere and gunned down David, without saying a word.

In addition, what Elijah didn't know was that Candice fled right before David was gunned down.

However, what Elijah also didn't realize was that Martin watched the whole thing and arrested Elijah again.

At his trial, Elijah was asked why he gunned down his only son after 19 years of jail time and an opportunity for early parole gone to waste.

Elijah spitefully and venomously stated that if he can't be with his son, then he would make sure that no one will.

Elijah was found guilty, and sentenced to life imprisonment at Ryker's Island Penitentiary with no chance of parole whatsoever.

And David's mother was nowhere to be seen.

Once the flashback ended, David got so mad, electric steam came out of his ears.

He then realized that he was granted all the powers and abilities of every single superhero and supervillain throughout the fictional multiverse.

Except for any superpower related to magic, as magic was strictly forbidden and outlawed from being used as a superpower.

That, and magic itself defies the Christian religion, due to black magic being associated with demons, as well as white magic benefitting God's creations, but not God Himself.

Then, David realized he now has the capability of communicating with God, and the capability of hearing God's voice, unlike the modern days of people in both the cynical world and in the religious world.

"God, are you there?" David asked, looking up at the sky.

A beaming golden-white light appeared to represent God's ethereal form.

"Yes, David. I'm here." God replied with a booming voice similar to Robin Williams' impression.

"Is it true that even though magic is woven throughout the fabric of the universe, it has serious consequences for those who use its' power?" David asked again.

"Yes. And, because of people using it to help with their problems instead of coming to me, I ensured that church leaders, early governments, kings, queens, and prime ministers would put together laws forbidding magic practicing. At the same time, magic itself has been associated with Satan's demon army. The types of magic used by demons and/or witches are black magic, voodoo magic, necromancy, witchcraft, Wicca, LaVayen Satanism, Black Shamanism, Maleficium, and chaos magic." God answered thoroughly.

David raised a hand to his chin as he processed what God told him.

Then, he realized that some superheroes and supervillains have powers related to magic, often coming from magic jewelry.

"Well, at least I now remember that anything related to magic is not to be used under any circumstance, especially magic jewelry." David muttered.

"Yes indeed. However, even though it originally included the Miraculouses from Miraculous Ladybug in the heroes' universe, that doesn't change the fact that they were meant to meet and to fall in love. Although, it is still pretty hilarious." God stated.

David chuckled to himself humorlessly.

"What this? You don't think it's hilarious?" God asked.

David faced the golden light with a hard glare.

"Even if I found it hilarious at first, it's still a bit of a repetitive thing. The semi-brainchild of Thomas Astruc and Jeremy Zag. Then again, I'm not the one working for them." David said.

"That is true. At the same time, even if you proposed having a Black Crow character in the show by the real name of Vincent Maldonado, that wouldn't come to life immediately." God said back.

Then David thought of something.

"Father, is the legend of the crow reviving murdered good people related to the no killing rule in the Ten Commandments?" David asked.

It took a whole minute for God to answer.

"Well, on the one hand, killing IS strictly forbidden in all humanity, especially if it means saving future lives that even Hawk Moth would've taken to save his wife. On the other hand, Black Feather, the crow that revived you, was bound to find you and grant you the opportunity to redeem yourself by killing your killer. In this case, you will have to kill your biological father." God replied before continuing.

"But remember these eighteen things about being revived by a crow. One: if you ever so much as willingly walk away from the path of vengeance before you finish it, Black Feather will take away your powers. As a result, your body will rot and decompose. And you will be forcefully laid back to rest. Two: if you are tricked into thinking that you completed your mission when you actually did not, you will temporarily lose your invulnerability. And it is at a point where you will be rendered catatonic by strong enemy attacks after 5 minutes. The only way to revive you is if you are in the presence of a symbol from someone you love. Three: if you use your healing power to heal someone of any impurity during your quest, you will have to wait for five hours before you can use it again. Four: because Black Feather is your link between the lands of the living and the dead, he is your greatest weakness. Simply put, any injury Black Feather sustains becomes your injuries. And if Black Feather dies, you will be completely vulnerable. Five: if your father and/or his associates ingest Black Feather's blood, your powers will be transferred to him or her. Six: you must be ever vigilant against satanic biker gangs, as they are all too familiar with the legend of the crow. Seven: any injury sustained while not on mission will become permanent. Eight: if you're on the brink of losing and Black Feather is alive but injured, there is only one way to heal him and restore your invulnerability: your allies must perform the Crow Dance. Nine: if you kill a criminal and a snake is nearby, the snake will resurrect the dead filth and he or she will become a supernatural villain with the natural abilities of both the snake and the crow. Ten: the snake avenger will be able to pierce your skin with any bladed weapon. Eleven: the snake that revives the criminal is the criminal's greatest weakness, just like Black Feather is your weakness. Twelve: your invulnerability enables you to survive even the most fatal of injuries. Thirteen: aside from complete invulnerability, tactile telepathy, and tactile empathy, you have additional abilities. Including self-sustenance, superhuman agility, cat-like reflexes, immortality, cider immunity, decay immunity, the ability to see everything through Black Feather's eyes, the ability to merge with Black Feather, flight, cat-like night vision, professional marksmanship, professional swordsmanship, and absolute regenerative healing. Fourteen: you also have the capability to fight as good as Ra's Al Ghul when confronting an opponent that is otherwise untouchable. Fifteen: if you choose not to pass on when you are requested to do so, you will be cursed to roam the Earth forever. Sixteen: if you encounter a fellow crow avenger, you must take them under your wing. Seventeen: you also have the ability to speak with the spirits of dead people, as well as seeing their spirits. And eighteen: your face will change to its undead colors whenever you transform, and revert back to its normal colors whenever you turn to "normal". Do you understand everything I said, my son?" God asked, finished with his guideline explanation.

"Yes, Father. I paid attention 100% and I'm telling the truth." David replied with a sincere smile.

"I believe you." God said.

Then, David thought of something.

"Father, if I may ask, is it true that I'm in the same universe where the 2004 Catwoman movie takes place?" David asked.

"Yes indeed. You actually are in the movie universe's chronological timeline." God answered.

David was so shocked, his cat can see it on his face.

"But I must leave you now. I got other matters that require my attention. But, don't worry, I'll always be watching over you."

The light dissipates as it ascends upwards.

David then realizes something.

"Wait. If my calculations are correct, this must be the same night that Patience Philips was revived!" David exclaimed before continuing with a Cheshire grin appearing on his face.

"And now, I have the capability to ensure that Tom Lone is the only one to discover Catwoman's identity. As well as making sure that Laurel Hedare is sent to prison for her crimes, and making sure that she doesn't successfully frame Catwoman for murder."

Deciding to test out his new abilities, David chose to manifest a costume with added metallic body armor.

First, he manifested out of thin air a black metallic neck guard that fit nicely.

Next, he manifested out of thin air a black bodysuit made of brick, stone, carbon steel, a steel-iron-nickel alloy, stainless steel, tungsten carbide, titanium, inconel, chromium, iron, beryllium, bismuth, cobalt, copper, gallium, indium, Al-li, alnico, birmabright, duralumin, brass, nickel, chrome, Adamantine, Adamantite, Adamantium, Arenek, Atium, Bavarium, Carbonadium, Feminum, Nth Metal, Durabyllium Steel, Uru Metal, Vibranium, triple reinforced steel, Kevlar, Nomex, Spectra Shield metal, Gold Flex fibers, Twaron fibers, Dyneema fibers, UHMWPE metal, steel, and black diamond to serve as his body armor.

Next, he manifested a crow symbol, outlined in white, on the chest of the bodysuit. Then, he manifested a pair of black metal elbow guards. Next, he manifested a pair of black metal shoulder guards. Then, he manifested a pair of black metal knee guards. Next, he manifested a pair of black metal shin guards. Then, he manifested a pair of black thigh armor. Next, he manifested a pair of black hip armor. Then, he manifested a pair of black armor for his upper arms. Next, he manifested a black tailbone guard. The next thing he manifested was a pair of black metallic forearm guards. Then, he manifested a pair of black running sneakers that could turn into rain boots and snow boots at the click of two red buttons. Next, he manifested a black metallic cape with a hood and metallic crow wings built on the inside. Then, he manifested a pair of black armored gloves with black metallic finger guards on both the outside and the inside, and short, metallic black talon-like claws on the fingertips. The next-to-last thing he manifested was black and white makeup with white makeup powder. He put the white powder on his entire face, sans the areas around his eyes. And he made sure to leave behind bare vertical lines above and over his eyes. At the same time, he also left bare horizontal lines at the corners of his mouth going all the way to his cheeks in a Glasglow smile. Next, he put on the white makeup paint over the entirety of his powdered face, except for the bare lines and the circles over his eyes. Next-to-last, he put on black makeup, covering the circles over his eyes, the lines above and under his eyes, and covering his lips in black lipstick, and putting black lines onto the bare skin in the lines. And last, but not last, he manifested a black crow mask with an armored skullcap attached and no feathers.

After looking down at himself, the armored David found he was three times as muscular as Arnold Schwarzenegger, and he no longer had a beard or mustache.

David looked further, and saw that he no longer had body hair.

The next thing he saw was that all of his wounds and scars were all healed.

And finally, he no longer had any vision impairments, and his eyes could finally tolerate any bright lights.

As he looked at himself in the mirror, he smirked evilly, knowing that he was gonna have some fun with his new quest for vengeance.

"From now on, the world will know me only as… the Black Crow." David said as he rechristened himself.

One night later…

After overhearing about a woman clad in black leather who jumps around like a cat foiling a jewelry store robbery, Black Crow got curious.

He tracked down Patience Phillips after scanning minds in an orbital distance.

He found out that Patience was the so-called "Catwoman" everybody was gonna call her after a while.

After overhearing Ophelia Powers explaining to Patience the origins of the Egyptian goddess Bastet and how Egyptian Mau cats came to existence, Black Crow began to wonder if he should change the course of events he memorized from his ability to see into the future, regardless of whether he's awake or asleep.

He remembered that if Patience is imprisoned after being framed for the murders of George Hedare and Dr. Slavicky, the entire police force of New York will know Catwoman's identity.

So, Black Crow teleported to Dr. Slavicky's home and informed him about his upcoming murder at the orders of Laurel Hedare.

After that, Black Crow and Dr. Slavicky exposed Laurel Hedare's future crimes and her master plans to release toxic Beau-Line to the public to get her revenge on the people who rejected her due to her visible aging before Beau-Line was invented, thanks to the evidence collected.

At the same time, they revealed to the public that if regular consumers stopped using Beau-Line after an extended time using it, the consumer's faces will disintegrate. And if they kept using it, their skin would be as hard as marble, thus granting them limited superhuman durability.

And they exposed Laurel ordering the murder of a former employee of her husband, but they vowed not to mention any names.

Later that night…

Catwoman did her famous catwalk in anger, knowing her object of vengeance was at the police precinct.

Black Crow watched from the sky with his telescopic vision.

Catwoman was wearing a different costume than the one she wore the other day.

She was wearing what appeared to be a black jaguar mask, but with the mouthpart removed. She was also wearing a black bra, two belts criss-crossed in an X shape on her chest, black leather pants with several rips, black high-heel shoes with open tops, and black leather gloves going up to her upper arms. These gloves have white diamond claws on the finger tops.

Black Crow took note of a black leather bullwhip coiled and hooked onto Catwoman's right hip.

Black Crow followed Catwoman as conspicuously as possible.

As soon as Catwoman made it inside the precinct, Black Crow disabled the security cameras and made Catwoman invisible to the cameras.

Inside the precinct, Catwoman found Laurel Hedare's prison cell and enacted her vengeance.

Simply put, Catwoman snapped Laurel Hedare's neck.

Once Catwoman made it out of the precinct, she made it to the roof where Black Crow was.

"Thanks for disabling the cameras. But who exactly are you?" Catwoman asked.

"I call myself the Black Crow. I was murdered by my father 3 days ago. I was revived by a crow struck by lightning to avenge my death, by killing my father." Black Crow answered while looking Catwoman in the eye.

Catwoman raised a masked eyebrow.

"Your father murdered you 3 days ago?" She asked again.

"Yes. And I was revived by a crow that was struck by lightning." Black Crow answered.

Catwoman started laughing hysterically, like she thought Black Crow was trying to be funny.

Black Crow didn't like that. Not at all.

"Why are you laughing? I'm not playing around. I'm dead serious." Black Crow stated bluntly.

Catwoman stopped laughing, but she was still smiling.

"Oh, my my. What a fierce, handsome bird you are! I have to say, Midnight never told me about the history of the Black Crow, but meeting the very first incarnation of the Black Crow really has made my night." Catwoman said, beaming gleefully.

Catwoman walked circles around Black Crow, gently scratching his armor.

"You're so handsome." She said, purring like a cat.

Black Crow never flinched, having had lots of practice in standing still.

And he didn't blush, for he knew Catwoman and her various incarnations all too well.

Catwoman, however, didn't notice.

Instead, she continued walking circles around Black Crow, literally purring like a cat.

Black Crow had enough, and so, he decided to break the ice.

"Look, Catwoman, I get that you're fascinated about another animal-themed superhuman on a quest of vengeance, and I get that you're fascinated by my body armor, but I'm not in love with you. And, I'm not so easy to seduce." Black Crow said gently, but bluntly at the same time.

"Really? You don't love me?" Catwoman asked with a bit of a pouting tone.

"That's right. Besides, you're much older than me, and I have a strict policy about dating women that are older than me. And, well, you definitely fall into that category." Black Crow replied bluntly.

Catwoman was so shocked, she tried to scratch Black Crow's face in anger.

Nothing happened.

Catwoman's jaw dropped in surprise.

"What do you know? Heh heh. Not only am I twenty times as invulnerable as the next superhuman, I'm also immune to pain." Black Crow declared with an evil chortle.

Before anything else can escalate, a crow appeared out of nowhere and lands on Black Crow's left shoulder.

David knew this crow all too well.

"Ah, Black Feather. It's been three nights since my resurrection, hasn't it?" Black Crow asked.

Black Feather cawed thrice, as if he were saying, "Yes, but right now, you have to complete your quest of vengeance. Once you succeed, you will be able to stay on Earth as long as you want."

Black Crow flashed a Cheshire grin.

"If you'll excuse me, I'll be on my way to kill my father for what he did to me. See you around, Catwoman." Black Crow said.

And, with that, Black Crow opened his cape to reveal metallic crow wings built into the cape.

Black Crow flew off, leaving behind an astonished Catwoman.

Catwoman had an epiphany, as if she had just discovered the Black Crow's identity.

It was right there she realized Black Crow didn't disguise his voice and he had the same brown eyes as the young David Shrute she had seen in Candice's photo album.

Slipping back into the police station, she hacked into the casefile database and see if David Shrute was the Black Crow.

After 15 seconds, she received the search results.

Turns out, when David was discovered dead after he was murdered, Martin Ortiz called for a gurney, but by the time the paramedics arrived, David was gone.

'Hmm, there's gotta be more to this. I have to look harder.' Catwoman's mind said.

After another minute, she saw from a CCTV camera that a crow was struck by lightning, but was neither burned nor disintegrated.

Then, what Catwoman saw next gave her the biggest surprise of her life.

In the footage, the crow landed on David's chest and pecked on his nose, the electricity transferring itself into his nostrils, thereby resurrecting him.

Catwoman was very surprised, at the very least.

She immediately deleted her search history to avoid suspicion.

After leaving the police station archives and making it outside without tripping an alarm and avoiding the cameras, Catwoman started to ponder on the next course of action.

Then, as soon as she spotted the Black Crow flying overhead, Catwoman decided on her next course of action.

She decided she was gonna follow Black Crow to his apartment.

'If he is a crow-themed avenger who just happens to be the son of my old acquaintance, I better keep an eye on him, since I happen to be close acquaintances with his mother.' Catwoman's conscience said.

Catwoman followed Black Crow the same way he followed her to the police station, except that she's unaware that Black Crow can sense anyone behind him, just like a ninja.

As soon as Black Crow sensed Catwoman following him, Black Crow did the next best thing to lose her: he made himself disappear through some smoke.

Undeterred, Catwoman managed to intercept the latest mail Black Crow accidentally dropped without realizing it. It was set to be delivered to David Francis Shrute at 2035 Massachusetts Avenue, New York City.

"Now that I know where he lives, it's time I pay him a visit." Catwoman said.

With that, Catwoman made her way to David Shrute's apartment as fast and as quietly as she could.

When she made it there, she found David's apartment completely renovated, like someone gave the interior an upgrade.

She saw that there was a female black cat on the bed.

"Well, hello. Who are you?" Catwoman asked.

Ebony meowed, as if she were saying, "I'm Ebony."

"Nice to meet you, Ebony." Catwoman said.

Catwoman stroked Ebony with her diamond claws affectionately.

Ebony was purring very loud, it was like music to Catwoman's ears.

'I think I'll wait here for David to come back. I wonder how things will turn out." Catwoman muttered.

And, with that, Catwoman lied down on the couch.

3 minutes earlier…

Black Crow secretly utilized his new Time-Out ability from Saved By The Bell to freeze time just long enough to head back to the police station.

Once inside, he turned off the security cameras, only to have them set on a timer to be turned back on in the next ten minutes.

Black Crow reached Laurel Hedare's cell, to find her lying on the floor, completely dead with a snapped neck.

Black Crow wiped clean any trace of DNA Catwoman left behind.

And he made sure to erase any trace of his DNA as well.

As soon as he made his way back outside and closed some distance away from the police station, Black Crow used his Time-In ability and turned the cameras back on by snapping his fingers.

5 minutes later, at Ryker's Island Penitentiary…

After Black Crow disabled the security cameras, he turned transparent and became ethereal.

After reaching his father's cell, only to find him asleep, Black Crow decloaked, and became solid again.

He then checked all over the prison complex to see if there were any snakes, as he remembers that if a crow-themed hero kills a criminal and a snake is nearby, the snake will be able to revive that criminal and turn him or her into a snake-themed villain.

Black Crow remembered that both Eric Draven and Hannah Foster, in their universe, both found out the hard way that a snake-themed avenger can pierce the crow avenger's flesh with any bladed weapon.

They would've died if not for the discovery of the villain's weakness: the snake itself, just like the crows for the two heroes.

And then, after triple checking to see no snakes nearby, he took out his cane swordstick and sliced his father's head clean off his shoulders.

Once Black Crow made it back outside and restored the cameras after clearing himself some distance, he immediately left at an undisturbed form of super speed.

When Black Crow made it back to his apartment, he found Catwoman lying down on the couch, apparently waiting for him.

As soon as she heard Black Crow's wings retracting back into his cape, Catwoman got off the couch.

She could see for herself Black Crow was very mad, as his ears had electric steam coming out of them, and his eyes were starting to turn bright red.

"And what could've possibly compelled you to follow me everywhere just to find out my identity and motives?!" Black Crow exclaimed.

"There's 3 things you should know." Catwoman answered.

"Okay. Spill it." Black Crow said back.

"First, the reason why you haven't seen your mother around ever since your resurrection is simple. When your father was arrested for murdering you, your mother was escorted out of New York to Chicago. She's been living there ever since." Catwoman said.

"Well, I guess that makes sense in case my father ever broke out of prison." Black Crow replied.

"Second, I know your identity, David, because your mother and I were close acquaintances before and after you were born. And the cat that revived me, Midnight, told me about your death and resurrection." Catwoman stated.

"Really? My mother never mentioned you." Black Crow said.

"Well, back before I became Catwoman, I had little confidence, especially around kids." Catwoman responded before continuing.

"And last, but not least, I was hoping we could connect due to our respective love of fighting bad people and the fact that we were revived to avenge our murders."

Black Crow calmed himself and took off his mask and his makeup faded away, revealing David's face.

Catwoman removed her own mask, revealing Patience Philips herself.

Black Crow remained stoic with a poker face.

"Are you disappointed, David?" Patience asked sadly.

David's only response was him rushing over to Patience and hugging her, tears streaming down his face.

Patience hugged him back, tears streaming down her face as well.

Once they let go, they started catching up on all the things they missed in each other's lives.

Including Patience having a relationship with Officer Tom Lone of the NYPD.

"Congratulations." Black Crow stated.

"Thank you, David." Catwoman responded.

"I can see it now: you and Tom Lone, living in peace, with children and kittens, and you having a nice job to avoid suspicion of your identity." Black Crow said.

"Oh, stop. I don't want to think about my future right now." Catwoman said back before continuing.

"But you're right: I do need to avoid telling Tom who I really am."

"Uh, actually, he's bound to find out, regardless of what you do. So, I find it best to just tell him in advance so that he'll know when you're about to help people." Black Crow replied.

Catwoman was shocked.

"WHAT?! No no no no no no no. Absolutely not. He might put me behind bars for stealing an Egyptian diamond necklace for my claws." Catwoman stated in response.

Black Crow's eyes narrowed in annoyance.

"Well, what would you expect? Such a priceless piece of jewelry is extremely rare, irreplaceable and one of a kind." Black Crow said bluntly.

"I know. It's just that an instinct kicked in, telling me that I needed the necklace to make my claws. And Ophelia told me, and I quote, 'You've spent a lifetime caged. But by accepting who you are, all of who you are, you can be free. And freedom is power.' I'm neither good nor evil. I walk a thin line between the two." Catwoman replied.

This would've sent the Black Crow into a rage, but he remembered why he was talking with Catwoman.

"That may be true, but what I learned was this: these are the years when a man or woman change into the person they're gonna be for the rest of their lives. We have to be careful about who we change into. Laurel Hedare, she deserved to die, true. But just because you CAN kill her, doesn't give you the right to do so. Remember, you're feeling this power of becoming a woman, and with this great power, there must also come great responsibility." Black Crow explained thoroughly in response.

Catwoman smiled in response.

"I admire you, David. You have the capabilities to be a leader, a visionary. Remember me when you get to the top of the multiverse. And, what if I wanted to continue stealing?" Catwoman asked.

"First of all, I'll take that as a compliment. As for your question, if you decided to continue stealing, I will have no choice but to take away your powers permanently. After all, stealing is strictly forbidden in all humanity, as per the Ten Commandments. And if you stole things all the way to the day you die permanently, God will send you to Hell, as stealing is a sin." Black Crow answered.

Catwoman was shocked, she started feeling remorse for the stealing she did during her first night and the stealing she would've done in another timeline if she ended things with Tom.

Black Crow could see tears streaming down Catwoman's face.

"What's the matter? Feeling remorse?" Black Crow asked.

Catwoman hugged him again, unable to keep her crying contained much longer.

Black Crow hugged her back, doing all the things he learned about how to comfort a crying woman.

When the soothing methods didn't work, Black Crow regrettably resorted to making Catwoman laugh by tickling her.

As soon as Catwoman started giggling, Black Crow let go, being careful not to scratch Catwoman, as his talon-like claws are sharper and stronger than steel and diamond.

"Please don't do that again. I can't contain myself when someone starts tickling me." Catwoman pleaded.

"Rest assured, you have my word that I won't tickle you again. Even I am truthful in that sense." Black Crow said as he turned around to show he didn't have his fingers crossed.

"And, in case you don't believe me, I have a lie detector to help me out" Black Crow stated.

And then, he brought out a lie detector to help him out.

Catwoman took note of its green light and its red light.

"Simply put, all I have to do is press this blue button and speak into the microphone." Black Crow said as he pointed to a blue button and the microphone at the same time before continuing.

"See this green light? If I say something into the microphone, the green light glows, and a dinging sound is heard. And that signifies that I'm telling the truth. But this red light? If I say something into the microphone, the red light glows, and a buzzer is heard. And that signifies that I'm lying. Simple as that. Okay?" Black Crow asked as he finished his explanation.

Catwoman gave a thumbs-up to signify that she understood.

"Good. Shall we give this thing a whirl?" Black Crow asked again.

Catwoman nodded.

Black Crow picked up the microphone, and pressed the blue button to turn it on.

"Okay. Black Crow, what is your real name?" Catwoman asked to start.

"David Francis Shrute." Black Crow answered.

The green light glowed as the lie detector made a dinging sound.

"Okay. Black Crow, do you like to tickle girls?" Catwoman asked in a teasing manner.

Black Crow got so mad, electric steam came out of his ears yet again.

"NO! At the very least, I don't like tickling girls as much as I used to. Nowadays, I do it as a last resort, in case my attempts to comfort a crying woman fail, as I'm sure you're already aware." Black Crow answered.

The green light glowed again, and the lie detector made a dinging sound again.

"Okay, last question. Since you know that I'm ticklish, Black Crow, do you plan on tickling me again?" Catwoman inquired.

"Hmm, no. No, I don't. I'm one of the few to know that when it comes to tickling, there are boundaries." Black Crow responded.

The green light on the lie detector glowed one more time, and the lie detector made a dinging sound one more time.

Catwoman gasped in shock.

"Wow! I thought you were lying." Catwoman said.

"Now, do you detect the sincerity in my voice? I'm telling the truth." Black Crow replied.

Catwoman smiled pleasantly, knowing she can fully trust Black Crow.

"Thank you for being honest with me, David. You have no idea how much it means to me, knowing that I can trust you." Catwoman stated.

Black Crow smiled in a satisfied manner as he let out a sigh of relief.

David spun around in a whirlwind, changing into Transformers-themed pajamas.

Patience puts her mask back on.

"Goodnight, Black Crow." Catwoman said as she took her leave.

"Goodnight, Catwoman." Black Crow said loud enough for Catwoman to hear as she leapt out the window.

As soon as Catwoman vanished from sight, David went to his bedroom and set up his alarm for 8:50 a.m so he could get around to using his powers.

David chortled giddily to himself, knowing that, despite the burdens and responsibilities of his new powers, there's no harm in having fun with them.

"Let the fun begin, starting with me and Catwoman." David said.

He then got down on his knees and placed both of his hands together to pray, as he remembers being born in a religious family.

"Dear Lord, thank you for granting me my second chance. And I pray, Lord, that you will please watch over me and Patience. And I pray that you will please grant me the opportunity to mold myself into a true hero clad in black. And I pray, Lord, that you will please teach me how to be a true hero, if not in body, then in spirit. And I pray that you will help me teach Patience that stealing is a sin and thus, is strictly forbidden in all humanity. And I pray that I will find my soulmate. I also pray, Lord, that my mother is safe and sound in Chicago, one of the most dangerous, crime-ridden cities of the United States. And I pray that Patience and I will have a great friendship, partnership, and overall great big sister-little brother relationship. And I pray that tomorrow will be a pleasant surprise. And I pray, in the name of Jesus, amen." David finished his prayer.

He immediately turned on his air conditioner, turned off the lights, and went under the covers of his bed.

David fell asleep in an instant.

The end.

(Author's notes: I have recently noticed that there ain't enough fanfictions of the 2004 Catwoman movie, so I decided to make my own. The 2004 Catwoman movie and characters strictly belong to Village Roadshow Pictures, Di Novi Pictures, and Warner Brothers. No copyrights intended. And the mention of the couch from The Big Comfy Couch strictly belongs to Treehouse TV, Radical Sheep Productions, Owl Television, Owl Communications, and PBS Kids. Also, Black Crow's origin is a total original, inspired by my personal life, and the comic books of The Crow, as well as the 1994 film. At the same time, I decided to use the same Black Crow from my Miraculous Ladybug fanfic. Only difference is, this is the prequel to my Black Crow series, "Black Crow: The Messenger of God." Reviews are always welcome, but please, don't put in any swear words. I don't tolerate people swearing. Just please, do the best you can to be polite. It's really appreciated. See you in the next chapter.)
