It was late evening, Nick sat in the living room of his apartment watching a movie to pass the time before getting ready for bed, when suddenly his phone started to ring. He picked up and noticed it was Judy that was calling him so he answered. "Hey there carrots, thought you were supposed to be on a date?", he said with a chuckle, but then stopped himself when he heard a faint sniffle on the other end.
"Hey Nick... Could you please come over?" Judy's voice sounded strained like she was right in the middle of crying, which immediately started to raise red flags in Nick's mind.
He shot up from the couch, adopting a serious tone, "Judy, what happened?"
"Just come over", was all she could get out before her breath hitched and made her sniffle again. After quickly collecting herself, she managed to speak again, "And bring something to drink."
For the time nick had gotten to know Judy, he had noticed she was not really much of a drinker, having maybe one strong beverage before calling it quits, so for her to ask for alcohol meant that something was really bothering her. He stood up and started for his key rack, "Ok Judy, I'll be there in a few minutes." He could hear a faint thank you on the other end of the line before they both hung up and he headed out the door.
After a quick trip to the market, he had made his way to Judy's apartment with a goodie bag full of her favorite whiskey, Buck's Bourbon, and her favorite sweet treat, candied carrots. He knocked on her door and could her jog up and quickly open it. He could see that her eyes were red and her cheeks were red, like she had just been crying and was trying hard to hold back the tears. "Hey carrots.", was all he could say before the tears started to well up in her eyes again, causing her to rush forward and embrace him, pressing her face deep into his chest in order to stop the tears from falling again.
With a solemn look, Nick just reached around her in a comforting embrace. "Date didn't go so well I'm guessing?", he asked to which she responded by shaking her head into his chest. He gave her back I light pat, "Ok. Why don't we head on inside, I'll pour you a drink and you can tell me all about it. Sound good?" After a few seconds, she pulled away slightly and gave a slight nod in response.
Still holding him close, she turned and they walked into her apartment. Nick closed the door behind them and guided her over to her couch to sit down before heading over to her kitchen area to set down the bag. He pulled out the contents and went into her overhead cabinet to grab two small glasses. He took everything back over to the couch and set everything down on the coffee table. "Got you a snack too, Incase you wanted something to munch on." he said, motioning to the candy before starting to work on their drinks. The only reaction he got from her was a momentary glance at the candy before starting back off into open space.
He poured them both a double shot and held a glass out to her, "Alright Judy, tell me what happened." She didn't start talking, however. Instead she grabbed the glass and, to Nick's surprise, downed the glass in one go before holding it out to him for a refill. This slightly concerned Nick, but he decided not to question it for now. He set his glass down and grabbed the bottle, refilling her glass.
She brings the glass back to her mouth and stares at it for a second before taking a small sip. Dropping her arms down to rest on her legs, she finally speaks, "It starting out so well. He was so kind and actually seemed pretty open minded about my career and life choices..." she paused for a moment to take a breath before starting to speak again, "but then things started going south."
Several hours passed as Judy went into detail on how her evening went from sweet to sour to Nick. Explaining how her date slowly started revealing his inner prejudices towards predators and his intentions to "relieve her" of her stressful job and one day giving her a more comfortable life. During which, they had nearly drained out the whiskey bottle and lightly tapped into the candied carrots, Judy also changing from the nice outfit she had worn for her date to more comfortable, loose fitting clothing. At this point, it was clear that Judy was decently drunk. Her cheeks were flush, her eyes were half libbed, and her words were slightly slurred, yet in turn she was a lot more talkative now. "And you know, after all that, the asshole had the nerve to think I would sleep with him tonight! Can you believe that?! The nerve of that buck!" She took a big gulp from her glass before continuing, "Well I sure as hell shot that idea down quick."
Nick, who hadn't been fairing to much better sobriety wise, was sitting back in the couch with his leg up on the cushion to help support his arm while it held his nearly empty glass. He had also tried making himself a bit more comfortable by loosening his tie out and undoing the buttons on his shirt. He mostly sat silently, listening to her story, with the occasional jump in for a joke or comment. He brought the glass to his mouth to finish it off, only to let it hang there as he spoke first, "Gods, what a prick." He then finished off his whiskey and let his arm rest back on his knee. "I know it may be a common stereotype for bunnies, but you would think after everything that had happened tonight, he could at least try to take a hint before going straight for sex."
"Right?! I mean seriously, you don't have to be a detective to get a clue!" Judy exclaimed before finishing her glass as well. She let her searing emotions cool down a bit as she stared at the glass in hand, then after a few seconds set it down onto the coffee table and sat back into the couch cushions. "That's when shit started to really hit the fans though." That got Nick's attention as he turned his head to look at her as she continued. "He called me shallow and an evil mammal for leading bucks on the way he claims I did. I told him the reason I turned him down was because instead of being a nice gentlemammal, he had been an insensitive jerk to me and the pleasant predators around us..." as she spoke, she could feel the tears start to build their way back up in her eyes. "After that he called me a disgusting predofile and said, and I quote,... 'you deserve to be raped and eaten by a predator you disgusting, ugly little bunny whore. How could anyone love a stupid, grotesque mammal like you.'...I don't know why...but for some reason...that really hurt." She managed to say as a few tear drops started to run down her cheeks.
Nick could feel his anger boil for buck that dared to make Judy cry. His ears were pinned to the back of his skull and he could feel the light growl at the back of his throat. He wanted so badly to teach him a lesson he would never forget. However, another thought came to him. He sat up straight, putting his glass on the coffee table as well, and scooted closer to Judy. He grabbed her shoulders and turned her towards himself spoke in a soft comforting voice, "Alright, look at me Judy. I need you to understand something, ok?" With a small sniffle and I lone tear falling from her cheek, she gave a small nod and looked into his eyes, giving him her undivided attention. Nick continued, "That buck obviously didn't know who the hell he was on a date with, cause if he did then he would know that, for one, you could have easily turned him into a lumpy pile of ground up rabbit," the joke got a small smile to form on her face, as she knew that what he said was true, "and two, he would know that you are a strong, brave, passionate, caring, and let's be Honest, drop dead sexy bunny." Judy's smile had grown even larger from Nick's words, and even got a chuckle and a faint blush from the sexy part. She continued to listen as he continued speaking. "You truly do make the world a better place and you find the best qualities in all mammals, myself including." Nick brought a paw up to cup her cheek and wipe a tear away with his thumb. "You are an amazing, beautiful bunny and you deserve to receive all that give others, tenfold. And if that dumb buck can't see that, then he isn't even worth the tear you cry."
At the conclusion of his sweet words, Judy gave in and pulled him in for a tight embrace, pressing her face deep into his chest to hide the happy tears that fell from her face. "Thank you.", were the only words she could summon the strength to say.
Nick rapped his arms around her as well. One arm around her back and one caressing her head. "Anytime carrots." He felt a warm satisfaction for being able to make her happy. They sat in their embrace for several minutes, enjoying the warmth they received from each other. They pulled slightly but kept their embrace. Judy stared up into his emerald eyes as he did the same into hers. The warm feeling began to spread throughout her body as one hand came back from around him to his front. She was lost in a sea of green as her paw passed his soft chest fur making its way towards his neck. Nick was mesmerizing by her beautiful violet eyes as his paw moved back to her cheek. He could feel his whole body tingle as her fingers laced their way through his fur. They could feel their bodies moving closer together as their lips were only inches apart.
Judy's arm slowly slipped back behind Nick's neck, pulled him in closer. As the distance closed, so did their eyes as their lips connected.
Judy could feel sunlight creeping in through her window as it forced her to wake. Only seconds later did she notice the pain throughout the rest of her body. She never had a true hangover before, but now she knew why people looked so miserable when they had one. Her whole head was throbbing like a jack rabbits foot and her body felt like she went 10 rounds against Francine. How can any mammal stand to do this more then once. she thought as she rubbed her temple, hoping to alleviate the pain.
After a minute of this, she started feeling the urge to pee, so she thought it would be best to get up and take care of that. Maybe even grab some Tylenol on the way to help with the pain. When she tried to pull herself up, however, she felt some resistance as if something was weighing her down. She looked down to inspect what the issue was, and to her surprise, found a red arm draped across her chest and a paw cupping one of her breasts. It was only at that moment did her surroundings start to come into focus. She was completely naked, an arm was over her chest, another presumably naked form was pressed up against her back, and light snoring could be heard behind eyes grew wide from shock as slowly turned to look behind herself. Laying behind her was the sleeping form of none other then partner and best friend, Nicholas Wilde.
"Oh sweet cheese and crackers." Was all she could say as her palm met her face. What have I done! I just slept with Nick! Drunk Nick! Fuck! He was just trying to cheer you up after a bad date and THIS Is how you repay him?! You use him as drunk rebound sex?! Judy's emotions started going off the deep end as she tried and failed to stop the tears from welling up in her eyes. She felt disgusted with herself, like she was a horrible friend. Slowly and carefully she made her way out of the bed, doing her best not to wake Nick from his sleep, only pausing for a moment to adjust to the pain in her hips. A random thought coming into mind only for a second to wonder what kind of monster did he have to make her feel this much pain.
She grabbed a shirt and some panties and made her way to the bathroom. She sat at the toilet and cried her eyes out for several minutes, feeling only the shame From her actions and asking herself questions. What was she going to do now? What could she do? She couldn't face Nick after what she did. What would she even say to him? But it wasn't like she could leave and avoid the subject, she lived here and would have to come back eventually. And if Nick didn't go looking for her, he could just as easily wait for her here, knowing she would have to come back eventually.
After a few minutes of thinking, she got up, got dressed in her shirt and panties and turned to look at herself in the mirror. She looked like shit, and felt like it too. But despite that and all the thoughts that ran through her head she what she had to do. She took a deep breath to try and control what little nerves she had left and decided. As much as I hate it...I have to talk to Nick.
As she exited the bathroom, she noticed Nick was just starting to stir awake. She did her best to force a smile, knowing it probably didn't look to convincing. "H-hey, morning Nick." She said in a weak voice. Gods she felt pathetic right now, couldn't even talk to her best friend, granted if they still even are friends after this talk.
Nick rubbed at his eyes and yawned with a stretch. "Haaaamorning carrots." It took a few minutes for his eye fully open and come into focus, to which he was greeted to the sight of a depressed looking bunny on the other end of the room wearing only a t-shirt and panties. Slowly realizing what was happening, his eyes went wide as he looked down to notice he was naked in her bed. Feeling at a loss for words, Nick forced out the the only and most important question he could think of.
"Did...we...uuhhhh..." kinda.
Be it through the effects of her hangover or from second nature having spent so much time with Nick, words flee from her mouth before she could even register what she said. "Well considering the pain between my thighs and my trouble standing earlier, I would think so." Realizing what she said she immediately cringed and started feeling even worse. DAMMIT JUDY! NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR JOKES! Despite thinking this, a part of her brain equated that is technically wasn't a joke, involuntary causing a tingle between her legs.
Nick, however didn't register her comment as a joke and through the shock of the current situation, a small twinge of pride flared in his soul. "Talk about an ego boost..." he hadn't realized he said that out loud till he noticed Judy was staring back at him in slight surprise. Shaking his head he went back to his thoughts. Dammit Nick, focus! You just had sex with your best friend while she was drunk and emotionally compromised after a bad date. That's a shitty thing to do and you know it. You don't do that to your friend! You DON'T DO THAT TO JUDY!... you need to apologize right now. Sitting up, he cleared his throat and spoke carefully, "Listen Judy, Uh, we need to talk about what happened last night."
"Nick I-"
"Na-, Jus-..." Nick cut her off, "Judy please, just let me get this out first." The determined look in his eye filled Judy with with fear and sorrow at the possibility of what she thought was coming. Her eyes dropped as she gave a small nod, allowing him to continue. "Thank you...Judy last night, when you told me what had happened...the only thoughts going through my mind were, what can I do and say to make you the happy, smiling Judy I know you as again...," he intentionally leaving out the thought of wanting to bludgeon a certain buck, "...sleeping with you was not one of those thoughts.
Judy stayed in her corner dwelling on the direction this conversation was going. She could feel tear starting once again as she anticipated the worst. You are losing your best friend, and you deserve it you dumb bunny. "If I had known that this would happen, then...I wouldn't have brought the alcohol." He's never going to want to see you again. You hurt him so bad. Tears started streaming Down her face as she squeezed he eye shut, waiting for the heartache about to come.
"Judy I..." she could hear the pain in his voice. Oh Nick. I'm so sor-
"I'm sorry for what I've done to you."
"Huh?.." Judy's eyes shot open and gaze went straight to Nick and the sight before her heart more then anything she had anticipated.
Nick's face was wet as his eyes filled with pain. His arm where holding each other trying to prevent them from shaking. Nick looked practically destroyed, and Judy's heart broke at the sight."Judy I took advantage of your drunken state. I...I let my urges take over...you don't deserve that, especially not from me." Nick felt so much pain for his actions. He was waiting any moment now for Judy to tell him he is right and to leave her apartment. "I feel like such a terrible friend and I understand if you never forgive you." Finishing his piece, he closed his eye allowing the last of his tears to fall as he awaited her verdict.
Judy couldn't take anymore of this, as she rushed forward and tackled Nick to the bed in a testy, blubbery embrace. "Oh Nick, you-you stupid fox. You...you should be...a-apologizing. You are an... amazing friend to me, and I...I rebounded with you. You don't deserve that. I...I..." Judy's words finally gave out as she broke down and sobbed into his chest. Nick's shocked state slowly fell into realization as Judy broke in his arms. She was fretting just as much as he was over this when they were both equally at fault. With a relieved sigh, he just held her close to him, allowing her to let out all those pent up emotions.
Nick and Judy had both been teared out. Their eyes were red and sore and their bodies no more energy to move from their embrace. So they just sat there, sharing each other's warmth. There may have still been some left to be said, a few wrongs that needed righted, DEFINITELY some Tylenol that needed to be consumed, but for now, all they wanted was comfort.
After several minutes of quiet, Judy finally had something to say about the events that transpired. "Nick?"
"Ya?"
"Let's never do that again."
"Ya."
The talk was short, but it held so much weight for the both of them. Their bond was unbreakable and they would never allow anything to ruin their friendship. Judy had only moved slightly after this to allow her head to rub briefly into Nick's chest. They were at piece now. A few minutes later, Nick had started to realize something else, however."As much as I am enjoying this snuggle bunny session, I think it might be about time I put some clothes on." It was at this moment, Judy realized she had been practically snuggling Nick's naked body this entire time.
Her cheeks felt red hot and she released a nervous chuckle and reluctantly sat herself up. "Y-ya. I'll uh...I'll give you some privacy so you can get dressed." At that she stood up, again having slight trouble walking at first, and made her way to the bathroom. Once again, Nick had felt a bit of pride from this.
Soon enough Nick had become decent and Judy exited the bathroom. With a stretch Judy spoke, " well, I don't know about you slick, but I'm still pretty tired. Think I might get a bit more sleep for now."
"Nick started heading towards the door. "Ya probably a good idea. How about after that we go get some dinner? It'd be a good idea to put some food in out systems."
"Sounds like a plan." Judy said, smiling as she made her way to her bed. Nick returned it and opened the door to leave but was stopped by Judy again. "Nick Wait!" He turned back to look at here. "About last night...thanks again for coming to comfort me. I really do appreciate it."
He knew he probably shouldn't have said it, but couldn't help himself. The plot was laid out and the punch line was at the ready. After all, he was Nick Wilde. Donning his signature smirk, he replied, "No problem carrots, I just hope you appreciated every inch."
Judy just stared at him for a moment, wide eyed, before throwing her covers over her head and quickly saying, "OKBYENICKSEEYOULATER!"
Nick just shuck his head as he turned to leave. To easy.
