While Jane and Tarzan raise their defiant seven year old daughter, Anika, among the gorillas, scientists kidnap Tarzan and Anika. The scientists treat Anika and Tarzan like animals and begin comparing them to modern gorillas. Jane and Kala struggle to survive and keep the gorillas alive without a leader. Tarzan becomes most valuable to the scientists.
