Link was thankful his friends were with him. As fate seemed to have a sense of irony, or just didn't like being mocked, because their attempt at living quietly began to unravel. Legends don't wait.

Demise has finally been sealed within the Master Sword, and Fi now requests that Link seal her within it as well. But Link can't bring himself to part ways with her.

The Shadow Invasion left wounds across both Hyrule and the Twilight Realm, and neither Zelda nor Midna are eager to face the task of binding them up. Old prejudices and weaknesses are laid bare, and the idea is posed of reuniting the two realms to prosper together. Due to the negligence of history and those previously worshipped, time is no longer able to sustain itself. Timelines are merging together and falling apart, causing the Spirit of the Hero from each timeline to come together.
