This story was writen before Jan Auel's Sixth book came out, so it is an alternative story to hers. Ayla is firmly settled in the Ninth Cave and continues to amaze the people she comes in contact with. It climaxes when she is confronted by the leaders and accused of not having told them everything about her past.
