Rejected ideas for Interning on the Aronnax. 50% more chance of early reveal Finn, tears, death, and overly-complex sub-plots.

(AU starting S1E7, mostly drabble-sized chapters) Finn makes his choice, but somehow gets kicked off both the Aronnax and the Dark Orca. Joining the Nektons is still his hope, but first he has to convince them that he's really a good guy. Luckily, he's got Fontaine on his side. Ghostly shenanigans, lost languages, ninja teenagers, near-death experiences, and pirate curses abound.

Fontaine's not sure what to think when she finds Finn sound asleep on his feet in the middle of the floating black market. She's even less sure of the old merchant claiming she should keep her distance.

The pirates are stealing treasure again- nothing new there. But there's a new addition to the Nekton team, which Finn isn't too happy about. Fontaine can't explain everything right now, or can she? After all, under the hull of the Dark Orca is pretty isolated, and she and Finn won't be rescued for a while. Granted, it's not ideal, but beggars can't be choosers *not the best summary
