He was normally rubbish with people. Still, the Doctor knew Rose well. And as she began talking about Jackie Tyler expecting, he knew in the spot between his hearts that she, for the first time in years, was lying to him. (Or, Just in case Doomsday didn't hurt enough. A mostly canon-compliant goodbye in which Rose is a liar.)
