This follows "The Force Awakens", everything in there should be considered canon. This completely rewrites all of episode 8 and 9. It features an entirely different plot that stays true to original Star Wars trilogy. First Order are the underdogs and are explained better. Kylo, Luke, and Snoke's backstories are completely unique. Every character is thoughtfully developed.

It's been five years since the Last Jedi. Rey, in a moment of weakness, gave herself to Supreme Leader Kylo Ren resulting in her expecting his son. She will do, and has done everything to keep Kylo from learning about the existence of his son. But one day, her luck runs out.
