There was something calming about working alone in the shadows. Or the Treno hospital wards. Hilda honestly preferred both. Slight AU-ish, if you tilt your head enough.

Life isn't a fairy-tail, and Zidane has learned that the hard way. But, that doesn't mean he's going to give up either. To what lengths will Zidane go to be with the woman he loves? He knows it wont be easy, but then what has he got to lose? This story takes place before and directly after the final battle.
