In Season 7's episode, "Epilogue" Reid and Prentiss had told the rest of the BAU team about what they've experienced the few moments the they were dead at the hands of the unsubs who had killed them. On the return flight from California, JJ and Morgan briefly talked about what they needed to do with the knowledge of that information.

After the lady killing unsub was caught, the BAU team flew the jet back to Quantico, Virginia. Because Garcia answered the phone saying "Talk dirty to me," before she found out that it was Chief Strauss, not Morgan calling her, Morgan and JJ did everything they had to not to laugh about it. Morgan decided to tease Garcia a little about that mistake and he included JJ in it!

A week before Halloween 2018 JJ decided to wear a Halloween costume to join Garcia, Henry and Michael in the Halloween spirit, but JJ just didn't know who she should dress up as for Halloween. After a case was closed during the flight home aboard the jet, JJ asked the other BAU members for any suggestions for a costume for her to wear.
