ZIM is told the truth by the Tallest, and he is left on earth, but he meets his spilt personality who offers him a deal to leave it all behind. The Irken race has finally met their match, and they need ZIM 's help, but they are in a bit surprised.

"You're one to talk," Dib fought through the chattering of his teeth, "You're not even moving!" "It's to conserve heat! I know well enough to figure out that this disgusting Earth temperature would last for a while!" "You have a literal heater on your back! You can move!" "Strategically speaking, I do not want to!"

After several days without any sight or mention of Zim, Dib takes it upon himself to discover what exactly the alien is up to. It's been five years since they met and while Dib chooses to celebrate the occassion, complete with a gift and an uncomfortably sincere expression of appreciation, Zim finds himself in a confrontation with his leaders, his entire identity ripped from him in a span of a few short minutes. (RAZR AU) Zim is finally frustrated with his treatment at the Academy, after a harsh rejection turns to humiliation, he goes to Tallest Miyuki for guidance; he agrees to an archaic pact called the Dark Horse Oath which forever bars him from being Tallest but in return is a royal item. Red gets dragged into the Dark Horse Oath, leaving the two Irkens wondering about the future.
