Sort of like a chapter 15/continuing on chapter 14. What happened after they sailed away from the island? Who did they meet again? How had things changed? Hint: "They watched together as the green balloons of a self-sustaining hot air mobile home sailed lower and lower on the horizon".

Wind the clock back to when the Baudelaires were at boarding school. They meet their friends the Quagmires, but what if they met someone else too. Someone who was skilled and had secrets of her own to hide. As the events of the story unfold, the new friend begins to uncover some terrible truths which she must share with the others before it's too late.

My retelling of the Baudelaires' story. I tried to give them a bit more good fortune.

When the Quagmires decide to stay with the Baudelaires after escaping the village, they search for answers in a half-finished hospital and end up at the mercy of Count Olaf and his crew. Meanwhile, Holly S. is grieving the loss of her father and tries to make sense of everything herself. When she meets an unexpected survivor, the two are set off where their stories meet again.

She was always Izzy, the girl who could not be broken. Yet here she was, standing at the top of a tree, broken. They had found a way to break her, and they used it. He was gone. The one thing that really kept her going was gone. "I still love you," she whispered. "I'll love you forever."
