His feet were lead, his legs heavy, the only perceivable movement in his entire body was the blood starting to pulse through his veins and his eyes frantically absorbing the sight in front of him, unsure which point to land on.

After coughing blood onto her pillow at the end of the Betts case, Scully reminisces over the recent past, and, with Mulder, decides it's time to take some action.

AU set in 1931 Berlin. Moulin Rouge/Cabaret-esque. Mulder is a man who's seen war. Scully is a woman who's used her body to survive, a war of its own kind. When the two meet at Berlin's Kit-Kat-Klub where Scully is a dancer investigating the dangerous man only known as Der Natter, they both realize they're in over their heads—especially when they start falling for one another...

Having been back to work at the hospital, Scully arrives home in need of some extra care after a very emotional day.

Daně Scullyové se zdá sen o ideálním světě – všechna Akta X a jim podobné případy se vyřeší, na světě zavládne světový mír a její a Mulderova práce v FBI dostane ocenění. Je to hledání nových řešení a cesta sebepoznání.

Při vyšetřování případu se Mulderovi a Scullyové stane podivná událost – při záblesku světel na obloze Foxovi uvízne ruka na Daniném rameni. Vše připomíná události podobné Filadelfskému experimentu. Ani Osamělí Střelci se neví rady. Dokud se událost znovu neopakuje.

Těhotná Scullyová se bojí, že její dítě je hybridem mezi lidskou a mimozemskou rasou. Její strach přeroste v paranoiu, kdy málem zabije sebe i dítě.

Pracovní život obrátí Mulderovi a Scullyové agentka přebírajíc jejich práci na Aktech X. Přestože Katherine William vypadá jako zelenáč, nabere Danu na spolupráci a pustí se vyšetřování svého prvního případu - zmizení a náhlé znovu zjevení malé dívky – matka dítěte však tvrdí, že to není její dcera. Při vyšetřování se ukáže, že ne vždy vzhled ukazuje na konkrétního jedince.

První den v novém roce se začnou v Danině životě dít zvláštní věci. Jednoho dne se v jejím bytě objeví Mulder, ale není to Fox, kterého zná z práce – je zmrzačený, hrubý a netrpělivý. Pochází prý z budoucnosti a vrátil se časem, aby zabránil nadcházejícím událostem. Dana zprvu odmítá, ale po fyzickém napadení se rozhodne mu pomoci. Tímto se roztočí kolo podivných událostí.

Po poslední nespicikované misi se s Mulderem a Scullyovou a něco děje. Ani jeden si to nedokáže vysvětlit. Při jejich setkání se jejich nové podoby projeví – Dana upír; Mulder – vlkodlak.

While going out for dinner, Scully runs into an ex and Mulder valliantly pretends to be her husband. However, that little lie traps them into having to play the Newlywed Game in front of a bunch of strangers and they have to navigate admitting feelings they haven't even admitted to themselves.
