Ellie and Alec have gone their separate ways since the end of Joe Miller's trial, and that should be the end of the story. Fate, it seems, has other ideas when Fred Miller disappears and Broadchurch once again bands together to protect its own.

Ellie has lived her entire life pretending that she is nothing more than a perfectly normal human being. But then a town Incarnate goes missing, the noose of an investigation starts to tighten around her neck, and revenge is served cold.

After the conclusion of Joe Miller's trial Hardy is ready to cut ties and leave Broadchurch. Unfortunately, another violent crime shakes the community and he finds that some ties are too strong to cut forcing him to stay and see the investigation through. Half the bloody town are suspects when the unthinkable happens to someone whom they've all thought about pushing off a cliff.

Ellie catches Hardy red-handed with a cigarette and suddenly there's an unexpected spark between them. Post Series 3.

A tense and stressed Alec Hardy leaves his phone at work... again. Ellie decides that she can spare a couple minutes to drop off his phone, and when she does, she is greeted with the warm scent of vanilla and the strings of a guitar being strummed... and unsuspectedly... singing.

"Where are you?" "Look up."

"I found my dad," Tom Miller said. - It took Hardy a moment to sift through possible answers, because his first reaction – 'What the bloody hell have you been thinking even looking for him, you daft wallaper' – would probably not go over well. (set after s3, so spoilers!)
