Agony never really goes away, but when it does and people think it's gone, it returns. And it is just as difficult to get rid of as it was fighting against it.

There are different kinds of agony including the way it is felt by others. The way it is experienced is not always the same. Pain is hard but one that can be tolerated to certain points and it's gentle to a point. It is a alarm being raised that a wound needs to be changed. Then there is the cruel kind of agony where it is extremely difficult to stop what is happening.

One day, Smith and Will go into a cave but only one comes out the other side. And the consequences of it afterwards sends everything going in one direction, initially. Originally a chapter that was part of A Cruel Kind of Agony but split off into its own story.
