My take on events that followed 7x09

This is my way of working through the frustration that the show has caused with the recent turn of events for the Burzek baby. It's some of what I had planned for 'Surprise of a Lifetime' and some new stuff. This will eventually be a collection of one shots, but that won't start until after the 3rd chapter. The first 3 chapters will have a traditional story feel to it.

It's how we respond to the biggest challenges in life that show the true nature of our character and our will to fight for what we love. Will Jay and Erin make it when everything is put on the line? (I suck at summaries just give it a read). AU Linstead Family/Drama

No matter how many times this happens, Hailey will never get used to it. All she can do is pray to whoever will listen and try not to scream at whatever being dictates so much trauma in their lives. So she'll hold his hand and have enough strength for both of them until he has enough strength to hold her up. A future fic of sorts; canon compliant. Lots of upstead. Med characters.

Life is inherently risk, and it is gambling towards terrible odds. When undercover goes wrong, love can be the only thing that makes Jay Halstead feel alive. Set after Jay gets shot and is recovering at home. Note: rated m because I'm not sure where I'll take this story.

A/U: Erin goes back to Chicago for Christmas after almost 4 years of leaving Chicago to live in New York.

When one of America's favorite celebrities literally runs into a Chicago detective no one expects them to ever see each other again. However, what happens when Erin needs Jay's help? Will sparks fly or will all the obstacles in their way be too much to overcome?

As far as Jay Halstead's dad was concerned, he had one child, Will, and he let Jay know it every chance he got. Jay whump. Jay emotional whump. Poor Jay. Dr. Patrick Halstead is a super ass. I'm ashamed that I'm 32 years old and I haven't gotten it through my thick skull that my dad doesn't love me and he never will love me.
