Barovia is a land of darkness. Ruled over by the tyrant Strahd von Zarovich who torments the living while his masters, the Dark Powers, claim the souls of the dead. Legends say that one day heroes would come to Barovia to free the people of Strahd and his masters. Though in such an evil place is it possible those heroes can fall to the same corruption that claimed Strahd's soul?

It is the first real civilization they have been in since the start of the quest, many weeks ago, and the group's Cleric is eager to visit the city's temple to his patron goddess, Selûne, for some counsel and spiritual nourishment.
