Rick sometimes hides his feelings well. When he fails to deal with a problem, he manages to scare his friends, big time.

2018 reboot. Rick couldn't concentrate past the way his head was pounding and spinning and his insides were roiling. All he could think was that T.C. was getting closer and the other men were ready to shoot him when he came into view.

Thomas hated this plan. The problem with hating the plan was that he was the one who had come up with it in the first place.

We fell back into silence and I closed my eyes. Despite the humidity I felt my mouth begin to dry out. "What kind of underwear are you wearing?" Impeccable timing, Magnum, but might I suggest you think of something less intimate?" she said.

Magnum was meant to plug in the USB pen and get out. He wasn't meant to get dosed with the new drug these idiots were working on.

It took all of Magnum's training in intelligence work to not react to the title and author: The White Knight: Queen's Gambit by Robin Masters. Sequel to "Dedication" but it's not absolutely necessary to read that one first.

This is a slice-of-life story about how the melding of Higgy and Thomas into a cohesive partnership and, perhaps a bit more, might proceed. It's short, snappy (I think) and a stand-alone, complete story. Something I don't often manage, but when I do I rather enjoy the results. Have fun, if you choose to read it. I had fun, writing it
