DO NOT FAVORITE THIS FANFICTION. I didn't write this for the story. In this Dick deals with having had an older sibling die in a miscarriage before he was born. This doesn't have an actual plot, but it does have real feelings. But don't favorite it - I feel it would be disrespectful.

There always has to be a Batman. Nightwing is forced to return to Gotham and run the show. He hasn't been back to Gotham since his fight with Bruce and now he has to come back and answer for a lot on top of fulfilling his obligations.

This story is about Dick (as an adult) reflecting on his road to recovery, after the tragic death of his parents. It talks about the things he has lost along the way, and the people he has found. At the end, Dick muses about a possibility why things like that happen. And a reason why he has kept going all this time, despite all of that.
