When Kaos frees the Doom Raiders from Cloudcracker Prison, Portal Master Kion returns to Skylands once again to fight off this new evil. With his new Trap Master Skylanders and his Traptanium Traps and weapons, it's up to him to save Skylands and stop Kaos once and for all.

Kion has been chosen by Master Eon to become the next Portal Master. Now he must fulfill his mission to restore the Core of Light, stop the evil Kaos, and save Skylands. But can he do it with the scars of the past that have been inflicted upon his heart?

Scar is given a second chance at life, and is revived in a world of humans. And he must raise Simba's neglected son, Kion, to be the new leader of the Lion Guard. And the eventual King of the Kalos Region. (A better summary will be written later.)

Dr. Whooves takes Derpy on a trip and they end up in the Pride Lands, where trouble is stirring. Can they help Simba keep the Pride Lands from falling into the paws of the hyenas, or will they fail?

But when they do the discover a mysterious Wardrobe inside the Wizard Lair, their mother left Kaya which leads to the Pridelands, but now The White Witch has returned, and wants to exact revenge even though Narnia is gone forever.

After Simba 'died' all those years ago and Scar took over, the gang split up. Those dark days are long gone now. The gang is all grown up with cubs of their own. Though it may be time for their cubs to grow and learn, their part is not done. Two of their friends are missing. To top it off Scar's mate is seeking vengeance any way she can get it. The future isn't looking too bright.

This follows on from 'The Dark Roar rises' with Kiara's cubs and the responsibility her second born will face when she has to decide whether she wants to lead in fear of following both her uncles' dark path.
