Asriel is still grinning, his laughter joining her own as he rolls off her and onto his side. He doesn't go far however, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her close as if he never wants to be parted. Marisa smiles into the embrace, wide and genuine, as she throws a leg over his hip, tugging him even closer. Marisa's never been more in love with him than in that moment.

"Then my wrath against you will subside and my jealous anger will turn away from you; I will be calm and no longer angry. Ezekiel 16:42." Asriel grinned, a chuckle escaping as he tilted his head up a little, a hand moving up to play with her tousled curls. "So you admit, you are jealous then," he said, as if he hadn't heard her own words.

The plan had sounded grotesque, even as she'd come up with it. Asriel had thought only as a man, wanting to whisk her away and escape to somewhere abroad before the child was born. Takes place around the end of the first book. Both Marisa and Asriel find Lyra in the mountains and keep her from joining the others, and bring her through the bridge to the other worlds.
