Morning came by way too fast. Elizabeth and Adam went outside with their guns completely loaded, while the others were gathering everything up. Elizabeth looked around, there was no signs of the dead but a few signs of the living- actual humans- were slowly appearing. The neighbours from up and down the street were quickly packing up their cars. It was the end of times now, anything and everything they could get their hands on would be like gold. The neighbours from across the street were dead, all eaten down to the bones. She looked up and down the street before jogging over, she could hear Adam protesting, she gun was raised as she entered the house. Entering the front door, she was in the kitchen where she spotted a ton of bags. She walked over to them, she found one bag with can food, snacks, bandages, medicine and matches. The rest were clothes, jewlery... nothing important. She took the one bag with her, as she turned on her heel, she found a red jug of gasoline and took that too. She quickly ran back over to Adam.
"What did you find?" he asked. It surprised her, that he was scolding her for taking off during such a dangerous time.
"Food, medicine and gasoline," she said, she felt proud for that.
Sam, Dean and Castiel came out with the bags that had their clothes in, dropping it beside the car. Castiel and Dean went back in the house to grab the remaining things, Sam opened up the trunk rearranging it so it could hold more. He looked at what his sister was holding. "Where did you get that?"
"Across the street," she said. "It's not a bad thing to have more."
Sam nodded. "And-"
"The zombies ate them. Right down to the bones," she said, putting the gasoline and the bag down.
Sam started to put their bags in the trunk, Dean and Castiel had brought out the jugs of gasoline that they personally got, the food and the first aid kit. The guns and other weapons they had in the trunk remained there, they rarely ever took them out unless they were fixing or cleaning them. Dean put the ones that he has been carrying down then went to start up the car. Sam managed to get all the jugs of gasoline in the trunk, he put the remaining bags in the backseat with Elizabeth and Adam; Sam, Dean and Castiel sat in the front. Dean turn on the radio.
"This is the Emergency Broadcasting Service. We would like the people to stay calm, stay indoors until the military-"
Dean switched it so it can play the cd that he had in. "Highly doubt the military is going to save people." He pushed the button so the music can play. Of course, the first song that came on was Highway to Hell by AC/DC. "Hmm.. seems fitting." He started to back up out of the driveway, they all took one good last look at the house before taking off.
Elizabeth looked through the bag that she had gotten from the neighbours house. She looked at the snacks, chocolate bars and chips and beef jerky... several things of beef jerkey. "Anyone want snacks?" she asked. "There's chips, beef jerkey, and chocolate bars."
"I'll take the chips," Sam said.
"Me too," Castiel added.
"I'll take a chocolate bar." Adam went through the bag to pick out a bar.
"Beef jerkey," Dean said.
Elizabeth handed the three males their snack before taking a chocolate bar herself. She looked outside the window as they drove through the town. People were ransacking stores, trying to get whatever is left of the gas, running through the streets as zombies roam, cars just driving by. The plan was to go East, being near the water was, probably, the safest bet to go. Sam had the map out, trying to figure out which road they should take.
"We should take the I-281, go South and take 181. We'll hit Cawker City," Sam said, he folded the map, keeping it on his lap until he needed to pull it out again.
Dean nodded. "Okay. Cawker City to Beloit... what's the population between both cities?" he asked.
"If you combine both of them, it's about four thousand," Castiel said. Thankfully, the ex-angel still has his knowledge that he can find in his head within a heartbeat.

The highways were packed in every direction, everyone was going to a city that had shelters set up or military bases that was taking in people. Dean was eating his beef jerkey angrily, sure he was used to driving long distance, pulling an all- nighter when they had a case. Adam was napping in the backseat, Castiel and Sam were in some sort of conversation. Elizabeth was still looking out the window, she counted that they had passed ten zombies within the past hour, a few dead humans that has been eaten to the point that they weren't going to come back as the dead. Much to Dean's delight, there was barely any traffic going south, so he picked up the speed.
They had drove through Cawker City, zombies basically took over that little town. There was only a few living that they had came across, they were trying to gather their things into the car or they were fighting off the dead. Dean's plan was that they try to make it pass Kansas City before dusk hits, unfortunately for them, they had ran into a traffic jam in the direction they were going and it stretched for miles. At the moment, they've been on the road for five hours and twenty- six minutes; they've been stuck in traffic for over an hour. Sam was looking at the map, trying to find a route that was nearby they could take.
As soon as Dean decided to shut the car off, Adam immediately woke up. "What's going on?"
"Traffic jam," Dean sighed. He looked back at Elizabeth. "Do we have food in the back or is it in the trunk?"
Elizabeth shrugged. "The trunk." Dean made a face, he didn't feel like getting out. "I found a bag of snacks from the neighbours." Dean looked at her again. "They were dead so I figured we needed it more." She opened the bag. "There's chips, beef jerkey, chocolate bars and an apple."
"I'll take beef jerkey," Dean said.
Elizabeth handed a package of original beef jerkey to her brother, then took a bag of chips for herself. She passed the bag to Adam first so he could pick out his snack before it was passed to Castiel and Sam. People were getting out of their cars, walking around to see what's the hold up. "I need to stretch." She opened the car door.
"I'll come too," Adam said with his mouthful.
The two of them were out of the car, it wasn't necessary to bring their guns at the moment. It felt good to get out of the car and smell the fresh air, the three older ones in the front wasn't allowing any argument to allow the windows to be put down a crack. Adam stood by the car, Elizabeth started to move the same way as traffic was. People were out of their cars, some were staying in them just in case the traffic started to roll again. She could hear Adam yelling to her, but she wanted to know what was going on.
"I've been stuck here for three hours," she had overheard an older woman, she was probably in her forties. Elizabeth turned her attention to her, the woman with gray eyes gave her a smile. "The traffic isn't moving."
The woman was right about that, the traffic probably wasn't going to move at all. Dean wasn't going to be happy about that, they had to bunker down soon. "What's holding us up?" she asked.
"I don't know but a man said that the dead was in the way and someone else said they weren't letting any one in."
She mentally sighed. If there is an obstacle, there's always a way for it to be dealt with, she remembered her father saying that to her when she was little. The block barricades that the government had put up to divide the highway to prevent idiots to go across the medium, those has to be removed. She let out a sigh, she looked back to see Adam, joined by Sam and Dean standing next to the car, watching. She walked back to them, if they didn't start moving soon, they were going to be stuck on the highway.
"The traffic hasn't moved in three hours," she said as she finally made it to them.
"What's the hold up?" Sam asked.
"Beats me." She shrugged. "Different theories. If we can move the barricades, we can start moving again."
"Alright." Dean rubbed his hands before walking towards the barricade. "We're not going to be stuck in traffic all day."
Elizabeth went over to join Dean, Sam and Ada m were on the other side. It was incredible heavy, it felt like it wasn't going to budge at all but other people had seen what they were trying to do and joined in. After a few, they managed to get five pushed aside, enough to allow a car go through at a time; there were a few other exits that the other people did after noticing them do it. They hurried back to the car, Dean didn't waste anytime, he turned the car back on and started to move towards the exit, he went slow until he made it onto the highway. They managed to see what the hold up was: a transit bus had gotten into an accident with other cars, it was hard to see if anyone was one of the dead, there was a good chance that there were several. She laid her head against the window, dozing on and off as Dean continued to drive.

After several more hours of driving, Dean decided to pull over onto a dirt path that was surrounded by trees but there was an opening that they were able to see any of the dead. Dean parked the car, turned it off, it wasn't safe to travel when it was dark. They ate some more of the snacks that Elizabeth had found at the neighbours house, they covered the front window, the driver side window in the front and the passenger side window in the back. They left the other windows alone so they could keep an eye out. Sam was looking out the window, Castiel had fallen asleep as well did Elizabeth, Adam was keeping watch out of the back window.
"East coast," Sam said out of the blue. "Are you sure it's safer there?"
Dean shrugged. "I have no idea. I say we give it a shot."
Sam turned to look at the oldest Winchester. "Shouldn't we be sure?" he asked. "Find out information if there is a safety area in the East, pick up some more people... safety in numbers."
Dean was silent, he always found it to be his duty to keep his family safe, that was something their dad had pushed onto him when he was young. He didn't want to let any other people to join them on their travels during this time, he wanted the ones that they had history with. Benny, Rowena, Crowley, Michael, Lucifer... the entire gang. They weren't enemies anymore, they all became human when God decided he had enough of their world and checked out. "Picking people up who can be dead weight to us? No. We just need to be together until we can find the rest of our people."
Sam didn't say anything else, Dean leaned against Castiel to get comfortable and tried to get some sleep.
