RWBY: Keep Moving Forward

Chapter 1

Once the airship came to a stop at Beacon's landing pad, Dean began making his way off. Keeping his hands in his pockets, he headed for the main building.

As he walked, someone came up behind him. "Ooooh!" a voice cooed.

"No. Nono!" a different voice said quickly.

Suddenly, someone snatched Dean's weapon off his back.

"Hey!" Dean spun around, raising his fist. Upon seeing a short girl wearing a red hood, Dean stopped, quickly lowering his arm. Next to the girl was a slightly taller one with blonde hair.

"Sorry." the blonde said. "I tried to stop her." turning to the short girl, the tall one placed a hand on her hip. "Give his weapon back, Ruby."

The short girl, Ruby, was transfixed on the weapon, not hearing a single word. "A high caliber rifle with extended magazine that can imbue dust into the cartridges." as she looked over the weapon, she pressed a button that made a scythe blade sprout from the barrel. "It's a scythe!" Ruby said happily. "Another scythe user!" pressing another button, the weapon split in two. The stock of the gun transformed into another scythe blade and the barrel of the gun was used as a handle for one half and the other half was meant to be held backwards. The gun could still be fired while split in two, but the range was a lot worse. "This thing is sooooo cooool!" Ruby said.

"That's great, Ruby. But I think he'd like his weapon back." the taller girl told her. "Please, forgive my sister."

Dean waved his hand back and forth. "It's fine. Just wish she'da asked first."

Putting it back together, Ruby handed the weapon back to Dean. "Thanks for letting me check it out. I, uh, I'm sorry for not asking first."

Dean took the weapon and placed it on his back. "It's fine."

"Would you...would you like to see my weapon?" Ruby asked.

"Sure."

Ruby pulled her weapon off her back, holding it in rifle mode. "This is Cresent Rose. A high caliber bolt action sniper rifle." she then twirled her weapon, transforming it into the scythe form. "It's also a scythe."

"Hm." Dean nodded his head. "Pretty neat."

"What's your weapon's name?" Ruby asked.

"I..." Dean paused. He never gave his weapon a name. Thinking, Dean pulled his weapon off his back. "Sae. Sae Marston." he told Ruby.

"'Sae' being short for 'Scythe'?" the tall girl asked.

"Something like that." Dean said as he placed it back where it belonged.

"Anyways, I should probably get going." the tall one said.

"I?" Ruby repeated. "You meant 'we' right?"

Suddenly, a small group of people showed up. "My friends are here. Gottagobye!" the tall girl then darted off with her friends.

"Hey!" Ruby shouted at her sister. "YAAANG!" she stomped her foot before crossing her arms. "What the heck?" groaning, she turned around and walked right into another girl's luggage cart, knocking a dozen suitcases over. One of the suitcases popped open. A single dust crystal bounced out and rolled across the courtyard, stopping once it hit someone's foot.

"What are you doing?!" the owner of the suitcases shouted. It was a girl slightly taller than Ruby wearing a, nearly, all white dress with heels. Her hair is tied in a ponytail, slightly to the side of her head, and her hair is just as white as her dress.

Ruby sits up, holding the side of her head. "Sorry."

"Sorry?!" the girl repeated. "Do you have any idea of the damage you could've caused?"

Ruby gets to her feet up, holding one of the cases. "Uuuhhh..."

"Give me that!" the owner snatched the suitcase from Ruby. Opening it, she pulls out a red dust crystal. "This is dust - mined and purified from the Schnee quarry."

Ruby stands with the same look on her face. "Uuuhhh..."

"What are you, brain-dead?" the girl said as she glared at Ruby. "Dust! Fire, water, lightning, energy!"

"Hey, you wanna cool it?" Dean stepped forward. "It was clearly an accident."

Weiss turned her attention to Dean. "And you are?" the girl asked with a slight hint of disdain in her voice.

"Dean." he replied.

"Well, Dean, you saw what she did!" the girl told him. "She could've caused some serious damage!"

"I don't doubt it." Dean said. "But that's not what happened. You don't have to blow up because of a simple accident."

"Do you have any idea who you're even talking to?" the girl asked him.

Before he could answer, another girl walked over with a book and the dust crystal in hand. "Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world."

"Finally! Some recognition!"

"Schnee Dust Company?" Dean repeated. The name sounded familiar but Dean was having a hard time figuring out why. "It sounds familiar..."

"Well it should!" Weiss growled. Pushing passed Ruby and Dean, she walked off towards the main building.

Holding the side of his head as he thought, his father's words suddenly echoed in his head. "We'll be back soon, Dean. We just need to finish up at the Schnee Dust Company warehouse and then we'll be right back."

"I remember where I heard the name from." Dean said to himself as he shook his head. "My parents worked at one of the warehouses over in Mantle."

"Hm? Did you say something?" Ruby asked.

Glancing at her, Dean rubbed the back of his neck. "No. I should probably get going." placing his hands inside of his pockets, Dean headed for the main building.

"Oh." Ruby said softly. "I'll see you around!" she shouted after him.

As Dean walked, he kept trying to remember something else his father mentioned. Something about the A.F.G.
